It's a religion, a highly prolific one now, at least where I am from.

It was only changed into a holiday centering around romance when writer Geoffrey Chaucer wrote of it as such. It helped that the idea of courtly love was popular at the time.

Most Saints days are about the murder of people who died in the name of their religion, so if it ever comes up again, remember that.
