Good afternoon, Genessia! Thank you for all of your patience and kindness as I've gotten settled down here. It means a lot.

My name is Eliot Durant and I'll one of your new librarians at the Genessia Library. I've memorized a portion of the catalog already, so you can ask me any questions about finding the books that you need.

I would also like to extend my services as a Living Library to anyone who needs them. I can store any amount of information in my memory and retrieve it when necessary. So if anyone has something they need stored in record, please let me know. I would like to get up to date with the history of our captive stay here and the political situation in the cities, so if anyone has a moment... I can provide snacks and refreshments while you fill me in.

Ah! And lastly... Sorry to have rambled. If anyone needs chocolate recipes, I know quite a few. Feel free to stop by the library and pick up a copy.

Thank you~!

[Eliot works the morning and afternoon shift. Should anyone come swing by the library, they'll get a cheerful wave and soft, almost muted call of 'Welcome~!' Can't talk in the library and kick himself out before the evening shift starts, after all. Eliot has written out some chocolate recipes and left them on the counter.]

...Chocolate recipes?

[You have won his attention quite easily mentioning sweets, Eliot. Augustine listens in to this broadcast with muted intrigue. Life here in this odd realm must be rather mundane. All the posts he encountered thus far seem so cheerful.]

[An awkward pause ensues after that bit regarding Valentine's day.]

...It's February here? [The disbelief in his tone is sincere.] Oh my, I think I may have missed my nameday.

[He let's out a slight chuckle.]

I cannot say that I ever had the pleasure of doing much of any culinary work.

It's fascinating how Time can alter itself.

[He'll tell eventually if he gets around to it.]

I think you've successfully enticed me enough to pay the library a visit. I had thought to visit one sooner but wanderlust claimed me.

Indeed. Has anyone come forward yet in answering your question regarding the political climate? I must say, I'm interested in that too.

[A slight pause.]

But the chocolate comes first! Though, you have a rather uncanny skill. Can you truly memorize so much?

That would be delightful.

[Yes, good. Augustine would love to get abreast on the situation here in Genessia. He's very curious about this world and just as curious about the people in it.]

...Define turned, if you will.

[Oh my! There seems to be quite a few vampires here.]

[This simple question shouldn't cause Augustine so much dread but it does. Now that he's aware there's another "Tepes" here, he's a little on guard. However, should he be? There seems to be quite a few vampires around, more so than in his world.

So maybe he can get away with stating his true name. Lady Scarlet already knows of it.
]

Augustine Gheorghe Vlad Tepes. However, feel free to simply refer to me by my given name.

[Even though he's the Earl of Ranslyvania, Augustine doesn't like wearing that title.]

So you're the only living Durant? Ah, my sympathies. No need to worry. I know my brethren here are well-behaved.

Brutal but honest. I suppose the same could be said for House Drăculești. Although, some of them live yet still.

[Much to his dismay honestly.]

Immortality doesn't always foster wisdom. I knew of many who claimed immortality out of foolish reasons and remained just as foolish as they were prior.

There's no need for apologies, Eliot. Your passion is admirable.

[Augustine can't help but smile some. It seems this young man is quite spirited. That's good! That's a good quality to have since it suggests that this young vampire can think for himself.]

My upbringing was peaceful up until a certain point. Lady Ramica of Translyvania was a doting mother but had many enemies, some within our own house.

Not usually. I'm actually a halfbreed, I have a human father but a vampire mother.

[He's an oddity within an oddity. Vampires in his world aren't born but rather are made. True vampires cannot give birth typically.]

That is essentially what happened in my world but there's vampires who can still bear offsprings. My mother was...fortunate.

[The similarities between their worlds intrigues him quite a bit.]

Unfortunately, no. Such a union is deemed impure.

A world where humans and vampires coexist peacefully? Only in fairytales, Eliot.

[Despite his sarcasm, Augustine hopes there's a world like that somewhere.]

On the contrary, you're doing quite well. I see nothing wrong with feeding your curiosity.

(Hello, Eliot. He's very happy to see you've settled in here, and happy to know he knows the librarian, if only remotely, but...something concerns him.)

Hello, Eliot. I'll certainly be using your expertise shortly, though...

...I would urge caution. I don't think all here are...benevolent.

(I don't want you to get hurt because someone really wants what's in your head...or to know how it ticks.)

[Guess who spends a lot of time at the library when not working for three days a week or doing commissions, or even if she was and needed to do research anyway? This girl.

Today's selection of books she had, reached just over her head. She was studying various books that didn't have a single connection to each other, but the young woman wanted to read and learn and enjoy the experience of being able to read a huge selection of books.

But for the time being the pile is sitting at the side on the counter as she needed to speak to him since she was pretty sure he worked there.]

Hello, can I ask a question?
