[There was a smile on Hikari's face. Almost mischievous, but the kind hidden beneath about three layers of portrayed innocence. In her hands, just barely visible at the bottom of the screen--which appeared to be propped up against something, judging by the fact that both her hands were currently otherwise occupied---she was fiddling with the settings of a Nikon D3400 DSLR. A camera which seemed somewhat familiar to her, but new enough that she was still learning all its features.]
I'll be walking around the next couple of days, taking pictures of as many couples around the city as I can find. All kinds of couples. Friends, family...not just boyfriends and girlfriends.
If I happen to take your picture, or if you'd like me to take your picture, I should have all the copies ready by Valentine's Day.

[Sure enough, the 14-year-old girl will be spotted at all sorts of public locations. Local cafes. The park. Restaurants. Any public place where seeing someone with a camera would not feel so out of place. Quiet and subtle, her goal was to catch as many moments of spontaneous affection as possible.]
[Being currently single herself, one might suspect her to feel affected by witnessing so many couples. But she only had smiles that were too warm not to be genuine each time she came across one. In fact, there was only one moment in which Hikari seemed to hesitate: by the playground of the park, her camera lowered just enough to witness a young girl--maybe 4 or 5--sitting on the sand, crying. Until an older boy who looked very much like her ran over. He seemed to have a couple scrapes and his hair was all messed up, but he looked far too proud of himself as he helped the girl to her feet, said something which appeared to cease the crying, before dragging her over to the swings so they could play together.]
[Hikari stared after the brother-sister duo for a long moment before lifting her camera once more, hands slightly unsteady as she snapped a picture of their smiling faces as the older brother pushed his sister higher and higher.]

[Guess who's feeling much better than he did couple days ago. Not fully, but good enough to have his sense of humor back.]
Can I also make a request?
video;
[And, before he could get a quip in--]
There were a few people who didn't seem to be in the Valentine's spirit because they didn't have a date. But, to me, you don't need one in order to celebrate. So I wanted to collect pictures of all kinds of people who were happy to be around the people special to them, no matter who they are.
[She paused just long enough to shift her weight, placing the camera down beside her and resting her arms across her knees. Leaning forward. Knowing Takeru, this should be good...]
Of course you can. What's the request?
video; --. private;
I know, I know, I'm just teasing you know that. Besides, how did you not think of us as the best of friends? That counts, right? I mean once I am 100% myself again.
[He smiled slightly, he was leaning back on the couch. It wasn't long before Hikari would notice he switched to private.]
The request is actually two things. One of which is a secret from Mimi because I thought it would be a nice... surprise for her.
video; --. private;
[The switch to private definitely didn’t go unnoticed. Nor was she surprised, particularly when he mentioned Mimi. It would be hard enough to keep anything secret from their friend, but they could try.]
Does this have anything to do with her upcoming date, by any chance?
video; --. private;
[He was honestly grateful that both her and Mimi had helped him when he was ill. He just didn't make it all that obvious.]
It might do and I get the feeling you might know what my idea is? [If there was one thing he could know it was that the person who knew him best was Hikari.]
But to put it in simple terms, I want Mimi to have fond memories of her first date. I mean now that we can't go with her... Which we still need to discuss what we'll do.
video; --. private;
[She has to refrain from giggling right there and then. It would condone his behavior.]
[...not that she seemed to be objecting, either.]
I don’t know. I guess I haven’t thought much about it yet. [Though she didn’t seem to mind his presumption that they’d be doing something together. That wasn’t much different from every other day, really, so why should Valentine’s be the exception?] Did you have anything in mind? Besides stalking Mimi on her date.
video; --. private;
[He was sure she would appreciate the memories, right? He paused for the moment, he was pondering over it for a good while before speaking up.]
That would only be in the time I mentioned, as for the after, if you wanted to stick around the festival, I'd be fine with that. But after that... [He paused once again.]
We could always go home and watch movies, each pick one to watch and if we are still awake pick a third together. [He leaned back slightly.] We can always just buy a lot of food for it beforehand as well. It could be a fun night.
video; --. private;
[In the meantime...]
Movies could be fun. I don't know what kind they have here, but I'm sure we could find something.
[There was a small warning in the back of her mind. Something something a previous conversation they'd had. She pushed it back. Because there was no way...he wouldn't dare...]
[
Except he absolutely would.]And I'm sure there'll be a lot of extra treats on sale because of the day. {Not to mention, the chocolates she would of course make for him.] I like it.
video; --. private;
[He brought a few of them when he arrived in October because why not watch horror movies on Halloween. But now that he thought about it, did he have other kinds? He should really consider some others.]
Oh, of course. It will be my treat for the day. I mean I am the one dragging you to take pictures, it's pretty much the least I could do.

She was trying to get past a certain level and it wasn't long before she did, choosing to pause at that moment, looking up and checking to see what was going on outside the world she had spent the past ten minutes focusing on.
It wasn't long before she noticed the other girl, wondering what she was up to.]
Are you... taking pictures? [Seemed like an obvious observation.]
action;
[Lost in thought, it took Hikari a moment longer than it should have to process the question. And the person asking it.]
Oh. Yes. I am. [Turning her body, she held up the camera as 'evidence'.] I work for the Flash Bandits.
action;
[She was aware of the place, she believed she might have spoken to someone who worked there before during one of her professional gaming things. But it wasn't the place that pinged her interests, it was the whole thing itself and it's reminder to her.]
So your talent is taking pictures. You must be pretty good.
action;
No. Not really.
[...although it was a response she would have given, regardless of her own opinion of skill. She glanced down at the camera with a fond smile.]
But I am trying to learn to get better. I do like taking pictures, and I've been doing it since I was about 9 or 10, I think.
action;
[She smiled slightly.]
I think you'll do well so long as you are passionate about it.
action;
[And she turned, indicating towards her camera.]
Would you like me to take your picture too?
[...admittedly, poses were never as fun as candids to her, but the element of surprise was already lost. So it would be polite to ask.]
action;
Not of me, but maybe of my Pokemon friends over there... [She pointed out her Bulbasaur, Eevee and Mimikyu. Still were not paying attention.]
I think they would like it.
action;
[Hikari's brows rose, and she looked over to the little creatures. None of whom she recognized anymore than she recognized what kind of -mon a pokemon was. Yes, this was a different world than the Digital World...but the similarities were striking enough to give her pause.]
You called them a pokemon. But...they all look so different from each other.

[A proud pause, before he gets back on topic.]
That's really wonderful of you to do, though. Now everyone's love can be kind of immortal, right?
video;
That's wonderful to hear! Who took your picture?
...and I suppose you can say that's true. If it's love I'm taking a picture of.

[Signs that Shi doesn't get out much: This.]
Mm! I got to look at some pictures before and it's amazing. It's like that moment gets to go on forever.
no subject
[Just a wild guess. Since Prompto was the only other photographer she knew at the moment.]
no subject
Does Mr Prompto take pictures too? I don't think I've met him yet.

[She would eventually meet Tsukasa, but...for now, it was a name without a face.]

Maybe you can stop by the shop sometime and catch him there.
[Hikari had no idea where he lived, so that would be her best bet for a chance encounter.]
