It's been more than a little strange trying to settle into this normal life, or what most people would consider a normal life. Other than the abduction part, of course. Luke almost feels anxious for the first few weeks, not quite knowing what to do with himself. He'd had plenty to stress over in Pathema even if there was no war there. But here, it's almost peaceful.
He wakes up every morning and goes to work, then comes home to his boyfriend and his cat, works out, trains, goes drinking, visits friends…
But he can't help feeling like he's waiting for the other shoe to drop. This can't be all there is.
Part of him wishes that something would happen, just so he can finally stop wondering and peeking over his shoulder. At least he has full use of his powers here. It's like getting one's sight back, though he's avoided using that exact phrasing around Matt for obvious reasons. For him, having his sight back is much more literal, even if his eyes are and will always be useless. Luke is relieved that he can get around a lot easier now than he used to and he's been fascinated with Matt's range of abilities.
They spend a lot of time together but when he's on his own Luke is usually either working shifts at the Schnee Company as a security guard, or putting himself through rigorous training.
Even in the snow and ice he can be found around the cities in a tank top, jogging or levitating things or standing upside-down on one hand. Rarely he might train with his lightsaber when he can find wide open, sparsely-populated areas to do so.

It put Luke into a bit of an amorous mood when they moved in and he's rarely left Matt's side since they arrived in Genessia. Needless to say, they're making up for lost time. When they're home they're usually either sleeping, eating, or screwing madly.
Even sleeping doesn't get much priority.
It's an early evening after work when they're both home, neither one quite hungry enough for dinner yet, so the hands and lips start wandering and one thing inevitably leads to another. Luke was never much for colognes or other scents before he met Matt, but when he discovered just how alluring it is to his boyfriend, he wears Matt's favorite scent just about every day. Knowing he can smell it from across the entire city makes them mad for each other by the time they get home to each other's arms.
The small layout of the apartment means that several walls get used as surfaces on their way to the bedroom. Knees and backs and elbows thud as they stumble their way to the bed.
This is where Luke loses track of time. They could have been rolling in the bed, gradually undressing each other for hours, or it could have been five minutes. Once they're unclothed he loses account of everything else in existence. All there is is the two of them. He's on his back with his legs straddling Matt's hips, utterly undone by the sensation of bare skin against warm, oversensitive skin.
Normally this is where anyone might get a bit vocal but Luke is particularly intense when it comes to letting his partner know just how much he's enjoying it. The headboard thuds rhythmically against the wall, the box spring squeaks, and Luke's moans and cries echo with the impressive acoustics of the square-ish shaped apartment.

Then they are completely naked and Matt is over Luke and thrusting against him with a loud groan or two of his own. He leans down to nip at Luke's neck following that up with soft licks of his tongue. His over sensitive taste buds take in Luke's taste and draws yet another groan out of him. "God Luke you taste so good," he adds, "I am so addicted to you."

Except he had barely relaxed before he heard the strange noises. It sounded like it was coming through the wall... Next door? Was somebody being attacked?
In his half-wakened state it was his first and only thought and his deputy senses kicked in, urging him to confront and to protect. He springs to action, heading out to the next door across, listening for a moment. There are heavy bangs and groans. Somebody in distress?
He gives a cursory knock and when it isn't answered, slams heavily against it. Once; twice and it's damaged by his cyborg strength enough to open. He clanks toward the strange noises...

His fingers dig into Matt's back and his legs cling tightly to him, as if he's trying to wrap his entire body around him, feel every inch of him at once. It's not just how he feels or what's he'd doing, it's also what's he's saying and how he says it. Matt is virile and powerful like Luke. He can keep up with the Jedi's seemingly endless energy and adventurousness. It would be an intense moment for any pair but Luke and Matt are particularly wild, feeding off of each other and feeling indescribable things with their superhuman senses.
The hammering and crashing down of their front door is slow to permeate Luke's hazy, sex-addled awareness, as if it has to slog through molasses to get there.
Out of the corner of his eye he spots a large form coming into view around the bedroom partition, just as Matt hits just the right angle of a particularly sensitive spot. "Ahh! Matt--"
It's a cry of pleasure and an attempt to get his attention all at once. "Matt! Matt... who--?" His arm flails at the figure, trying to gesture in that direction but he's being thrust into so hard so he can't keep his arm steady.

"How do you do that and keep all the blood from rushing to your head?"

"The same way I balance on one hand for so long," he answers in a quiet, serene tone, not even bothering to open his eyes. The fingers of his outstretched hand slowly open and close.
"Are you familiar with the Force?"

"It's an energy based on life that fills and surrounds everything. Certain life forms are born with the ability to feel it and communicate with it, even command it."
Very slowly he moves his free hand to the ground and transfers his weight, then lifts the other arm into the air.
"But it can also command you."

You settling in all right?

As Luke sees Han he comes jogging to a stop, a bit sweaty but showing no other signs of having just circled the city. "Hey!" he chuckles, grinning and a bit flushed but his breathing is even.
Truthfully the cold motivates him to run faster and he likes it better that way. Hot weather tends to slow him down; one of the many reasons he was always so eager to leave Tatooine.
"Yeah. Yeah, this place is a lot less, uh..." he glances around, trying to think of the right word. He wants to say 'forceful', as reference to the way he and the other residents of Pathéma were treated as slaves, but he decides to steer clear of addressing bad memories so directly.
"... stressful," he finishes finally. "Matt and I got an apartment."
There's a funny sort of tone to his voice, almost shy and just a touch giddy. He's never had an apartment before, and he's never lived with a significant other before... if he's ever even had a significant other. It's as if he's trying to figure out how normal people live, and then feeling some sense of satisfaction whenever he figures it out.

Han had his suspicions but wasn't about to judge or anything. Heck, even if Mara did show up, she'd recognize Luke was young and had gone through a lot in the other world that even he didn't know about yet. Everyone would manage ok. And Han was ok with whatever Luke wanted, as long as it didn't involve going back to Palpatine again.
"And yeah, it is a little less stressful. I still kind of wish Leia and the kids would come. I miss them all. What's weird is that there's a guy who seems to be the son of a version of me from another dimension. I'm still wrapping my mind around the idea of the alternate realities."
He was curious. "Have you managed to find work yet?"
no subject
"I, uh, yeah. I'm working security for Schnee. It's... not my ideal job but I think it's decent money."
While he feels more than capable of providing security if something were to happen, the problem is that nothing ever seems to happen at the Schnee Company. Which is good, obviously. But it means that Luke is bored out of his mind. His immense abilities are wasted as a glorified security guard.
"I'm already looking for something else, honestly. Let me know if you can think of a better fit for me, yeah? You've been here for a while. Have any connections?"

With an attempt at a small smile, she approached the other Force-user. She was supposed to be making friends with people from other galaxies, but this was a start, wasn't it? This was someone she didn't know and there was a really obvious conversation starter here.
"Mind if I join you?" Her hands moved to the two lightsabers at her hips, but she didn't yet pull them out, not wanting to seem like she's threatening the stranger.
"I'm Ahsoka. Aaand while I think it's pretty safe to assume we're from the same place... when are you from?"
no subject
His eyes dart to her lightsabers and he smiles helplessly when she introduces herself. Meeting other Jedi is such a rare thing for him, he almost doesn't know what to do with himself for a brief moment.
"Hi," he replies breathlessly, disengaging his lightsaber as he leaves his fighting stance and turns to properly face her. This meeting is absolutely worth pausing his training for. She deserves his full attention. He reaches out to shake her hand, almost giddy with excitement. "I'm Luke. Skywalker."
It's still a bit strange giving out his last name so freely, but he figures it's the best way to figure out timelines among others from his home galaxy. If they recognize the name then chances are they're at least within a hundred years of him.
"Uhh, battles of Yavin or Endor?"
no subject
At least that answers her first question.
"The name tells me enough. It's nice to meet you, Luke."
A part of her wants to ask him everything about the future and about his father, but that'll have to wait. It's strange Anakin didn't think to introduce him or... have they not met yet?
"I'm the former padawan of Anakin Skywalker. He's your father... right?"
no subject
"Padawan?" he asks, his brows furrowed. A lot of basic terminology wasn't included in Luke's crash courses, unfortunately. He's learning a lot being around Jedi who actually had formal training at real temples.

Luke doesn't care that his father just treated him like garbage. Why should he? For as long as Luke's known him he's been a horrible person. Homicidal, genocidal, and he even took his own son's hand. Every experience Luke has had with his biological father has been not just bad, they've been some of the worst of his life. Every major tragedy he's known was caused by that man.
So why does he want to call up Anakin and tearfully plead with him to believe him? Why does he feel so rejected, unwanted, and worthless?
Luke finds himself descending the stairs from the roof back to the small apartment in the Commons that he and Matt have been loaned without remembering to tell his feet to do so. It was starting to get cold up there anyway. He has to brush snow off of his robe before he steps through the doorway, glancing around for Matt.
After they were helped from the snow Luke treated Matt's wounds and used the Force to jump-start the healing process. His stab wound has closed up at the very least. Those broken ribs should be less inflamed too. Luckily they didn't need a hospital; Luke knows that Matt's never been a fan of those. But he did need some rest, which is where Luke left him when he wandered up to the roof.
"Matt?" he calls, a bit softly just in case he's still sleeping.

He tilts his head and frowns. "Are you okay," he asks reaching out to touch his boyfriend.

Once he gets talking he knows it won't last long.
Luke lets out a sigh and some more tension along with it, his hand lifting to run down Matt's arm, taking hold of his fingers to lead him back to the sofa. This is a sitting-down type of conversation. The fact that Luke hasn't said anything yet might attest to just how okay he probably isn't.
"I just spoke to my father," he finally answers, lowering himself onto the sofa with not a little tiredness in his movements. "He's here."

A vaguely familiar face among the security staff makes him pause, hesitate, but no, he's quite certain that's the man he spoke to over the network.
"Luke Skywalker?" he asks as he approaches him, then quieter, "General?"
no subject
"Cassian!" he exclaims excitedly, probably louder than he needed to.
He glances around himself somewhat shyly, and then closes the distance between them. "Please tell me you're here because one of the Imp poodoo-heads finally went too far and now we have a situation on our hands. I'm that bored."
no subject
He runs a hand through his hair and moves a little out of the way, placing himself by some brochures so they can pretend he's studying them and Luke helping. As much as Luke hates his job, Cassian wouldn't want to be the reason he gets in trouble.
"I was actually just here to pick up some Nova City tourist brochures, no emergency, sorry." His lips twitch. "How have you been settling in, boring job aside?"

The last bit was less important but it still contributed to the rather energized and amorous mood Luke found himself in after getting to spend a few easy, quiet days with Matt.
Ever since then he's had more drive to do things, more enthusiasm for the life they now have, and all of the events happening around Genessia excite him. Most of them are based on Earth holidays and traditions, but he's more than happy to learn about a new culture. Matt was already teaching him things anyway.
Normally, a holiday like Valentine's Day wouldn't interest him much, but actually having something and someone to celebrate has put him into planning overdrive. He sends Matt a simple text partway through the day.
The night before Luke had insisted on being taken on the kitchen counter. It was something about not wanting to separate from Matt long enough to get to the bedroom, but in reality he simply likes the idea of 'christening' every horizontal surface of their apartment, and even a few of the vertical ones.
Re: closed to Matt Murdock; backdated to 2/14; NSFW
He was looking forward to a Valentine's Day where he had someone to celebrate with and this year it was someone who loved him as much as they loved him. He pushed open the apartment door grinning to himself with a small box in his pocket. It was just a small Rebel icon pin, because he wasn't sure what Luke might like beyond that. "I'm here," he says entering the kitchen still grinning.

Inside the envelope is a letter that Luke had stamped in Braille.
If Matt tries, he certainly will smell a scent of lavender. It's not in the apartment, though, or anywhere in the building. It's somewhere out in the city, but not too far. Just close enough that it should reach his senses.
