[To some, this blond might look oddly familiar. To others, perhaps not so much. She doesn't look particularly concerned about where she is, but she certainly has a smile on and at least looks friendly enough.]

What's that saying I've heard? Out of the frying pan and into the fryer, or something like that is how it goes I think. Pretty sure I have a basic understanding of most of what's happened here, but I must ask, are there any surprises I should be aware of?

Oh, and I probably should give some sort of introduction. I'm Jenny. Hello everyone!

[He does not need to ask that twice. She is to that motorbike, grabbing that helmet and shoving it on her head so fast before hopping on behind him excitedly.]

Oh, I'm ready!

[She's got need for speed!]

[it's a need he can feed. As soon as he's sure she's properly prepared, he revs the motor once or twice before gunning it, popping into a not accidental at all wheelie and thankfully tipping forward to send them hurtling through the streets]

So what have you got up to after I left? [he may be shouting but only because it's the only way he can be sure she'll hear him over the rushing wind?]

Oh you know! Stealing shuttles, running out of fuel, getting trapped in a city by gods, rescuing people, doing an awful lot of running.

[Some other things she didn't really want to mention to her father or he might ground her for eternity. At least she was alive though.]

It's all a very long story, but I get the feeling you'll have plenty of time to hear it.

[She made sure to speak plenty loud enough for him to hear her.]

A girl after my own hearts. [as well she should be. But he truly is glad she went off to have adventures of her own. It'll be nice to run into her one day and have adventures with her here as well]

Oh more than that. Tell me-- how do you feel about learning an instrument? [because he's getting an idea]

An instrument? What kind of instrument......and why would you be asking me about learning an instrument anyway?

Any kind. [he pauses if only to start to come to a screeching stop to a red light, then changes his mind and turns so sharply he has to grind the bottom of his shoe against the asphalt to keep them up right, sparks shooting out and then guns it for a narrow alley, jumping over a convenient bit of planking to clear a low wall that he might have placed there for just such an occasion]

If you don't want to that's fine.

Instrument's aren't really much of my thing, dad. Sorry.

[She couldn't stop herself from laughing again, absolutely thrilled as they cleared the wall. At least she was having a good time.]

Though if you wanted me to learn, I suppose I could.

Nah, do your thing. Be free. It was just a thought.

[and, in reality, he wouldn't share the stage very well anyway. A few more minutes and they are skidding to a stop in front of the ice cream place. He waits a moment before killing the engine and waiting for her to get off first]

Thought we'd take the short cut.

I liked the short cut. Gotta admit, that's the most fun I've had in awhile.

[Which was a little sad when she thought about but hey, it was what it was.

She stayed put on the motorcycle for a bit longer before finally hopping off and removing the helmet with a grin.]

I'm up for doing that any day!

I can get you one of your own if you like. [he takes the helmet and puts it way before draping an arm around her shoulder and leading her toward the ice cream place] One with all the fixings.

Yes please!

[He'd be lucky to get her to stop riding it for more the 5 minutes, but oh man did she want one of those.]

Right. We'll stop at Smoker's on the way back. Now. [he pushes open the door and smiles at the pleasant jingle. It's a bright, open, friendly place, with a wide selection-- though sadly a mostly human one. Ah well. Glactica Fudge Ripple can't be everywhere he supposes.] What's your poison.

[Wow that's hard to decide. Where she had been before hadn't really had an abundant amount of ice cream, though they had managed to make it on occasion and certainly not so many flavors. She'd have to try one that she hadn't had before. Though one called Glactica Fudge Ripple likely would have been wonderful if they supplied it. She'd try that.

She looked over the menu and soon found one she wouldn't mind trying.]

How about Rocky Road? I haven't had that one before.

Why not more? Why not them all? [he grins] Order what you want.

[and to the hapless boy behind the counter he says] I want that that that that two of that and some of those in a milkshake.

[the boy pales a bit under his acne but hurries to do so. The Doctor casually leaves a centennial in his tip jar]

Ah I love this place.

[Well, he is entertaining her, she'll give him that.]

Fine. I will!

[She dares to order a few more flavors. That poor boy behind the counter was getting quite the list between the two of them and as soon as they managed to get their ice cream and a seat at a table, Jenny would be leaning forward with a eager grin.]

Alright then. What have you been up to all this time since you last saw me? I can't imagine you've been doing nothing. No doubt you've been involved in some kind of adventure.

That could take a while. It's been, oh, a whole other face and a thousand years or ten give or take depending on how you count.

I'll tell you this or that...

But you first. Where did you go? What did you do?

Well, as I said earlier, I left Messaline in a shuttle. Ran out of a fuel a few hours later and got stuck trying to come up with a solution for about a week. Started working on rewiring the shields, and then well, I ended up in Adstring. A lot of things happened there honestly. Not sure I could get through it all in one sitting. I was there for two and half years or so. Aside from the people that were brought there from other worlds, it had been abandoned. It looked like there'd been a civilization there once but something had obviously happened and everyone was just gone. We all got by surviving off what we knew, and what we could scavenge.

Ah, another nexus. You know I've never heard of these until here but it seems they're not uncommon. Maybe it was just from the other set of people passing through... But what pulls people in, I wonder...

[he slurps more of his milkshake and regards her]

It's a pity you ended up here next. It's not a bad place, but it's not, you know... Out there. [he makes an expansive gesture] You learn to miss it. And you learn to try to forget. [as he's more or less kind of sort of here and there effectively retired]

Yeah, I know. I never got very far so I'd imagine it's easier for me then others, but I really wanted to see the universe out there.

[She really did understand.]

I'd just about faced the facts that I likely would never get the chance to travel, but at least this place is quite a bit different and there's a whole lot more to see. Not to mention, it's nice to see you again as well dad. I wasn't sure I ever would.

It's nice to see you too. [he smiles] Let's make the most of it, shall we? There are places to go even here to explore, have adventures, run for our lives. [he grins] All the things that make life worth living.

[She laughed at that.]

Sounds like a great time! Never could put aside the need for some exploration and adventure.

[Her spoon played with the ice cream for a moment before she dared to take a bit of it any try it. Hey, it was pretty damn good.]

Let's see... There's a fairly dangerous cave. A labyrinth full of monsters. Heard of. Never been. Everglade is always interesting... and I heard something about a subarchway with dinosaurs in it. [he grins] Pick your poison.

[She laughs.]

How about all of them?

[They all sounded like a downright good adventure to her. It would just be figuring out where to start.]

Well, there were a few things on that list that you've never been yourself. Why not pick one of those to start with?

Fair enough! We can start by meeting the dinosaurs. I bet there are some species there I've not seen in ages.

Do you know anything about them? [he's not exactly sure of what constitutes her educational background]

I've heard they're kind of like dragons without wings, but I don't really know much more about them. I could tell you more about dragons then dinosaurs I'm afraid.

[Especially since she used to take care of one a couple of them.]
