I was curious if you will. Something I've been wondering since I first arrived.

Does anyone here ever have the case of bad luck? Or has there been anyone who has caused bad things to happen by simply touching something, someone or just by being around?

I've hurt a lot of people because I was born this way and I've hurt a lot of people as well as someone very dear to me, but I paid my price and bear my scars, but I guess I wanted to know if it wasn't just me that experiences this type of thing and if I wasn't how they manage to deal with it?

If that isn't the case, I guess my other question would be how can I know who to be around and who not to? I have no way of knowing who will be immune and I'm worried that if I get close to people they'll just end up getting hurt and I don't want that to happen any more.

I appreciate any help you may have.

It sounds like someone I know here.. I'm assuming someone else, since he's always open about how he doesn't want to be around anyone.

Either way, I think the important part is to figure out how to make your own luck. Sometimes life is unfair, difficult, and it doesn't always seem like things are going to turn out. I even gave up on being able to find a way to be happy for a long time, then once I found it I thought it was just going to get taken away again. But if you keep fighting for those good things to happen, eventually the bad things get tired of fighting back for at least a little while. That's been my experience, at least. The scars never go away, but sometimes they help you look for the future.

Alternately, you could get a lucky cat and see if that helps.

I've found trying to make good luck doesn't actually help. I've also found very few people are even immune to it, one of which I like to make sure he was around when I did meet another friend, even though it was obvious the friend I was meeting wasn't exactly happy about it.

If I knew how to tell whose immune and who isn't, it probably would make it easier, but currently. I have no way of knowing. But something like a lucky cat wouldn't help. It might be immune or something, but wouldn't stop me affecting others. I only knew of one person who could do that.

That sounds pretty tough.. and I'm guessing a lot more literal 'bad luck' than I was thinking you meant. I don't know about anyone who is immune to bad luck or exudes good luck or anything, but.. Maybe there's a way to take the bad luck and turn it into a good situation? Like find ways to prepare for hanging out with you, like wearing bathing suits under our clothes so that if it starts pouring down rain when we planned to do an outside activity, we can still go and it won't matter if we get wet. Something like that..

As long as your bad luck isn't like, killing people out the door.

It is more literal, sadly. As much as I would want it not to be there.

It... can cause accidents that can lead to death sometimes. That's just how bad it can get.

That sounds more like a curse than bad luck then. I wonder if there's a way to break it here..

Luck is what you make of it, though there are certainly spells that can influence it! Sometimes a bit of bad luck is simply the way of things, but could it be possible you've encountered a particularly foul tempered sorcerer? Such a thing is not beyond their power.

[Merlin doesn't believe magic should be the answer to every problem, but if it's of supernatural influence...]

I'm curious to know your predicament, as I may be able to help.

I don't think so, I was simply born with it. Nothing happened to get it, I've just always had it. It's not something that effects me personally, but it does effect those around me.

Still, perhaps there might be a way to ward off such ill effects, or at least lessen their impact upon others. I'm sure I can find an answer in one of my books.

Oh bother, just a moment... Sometimes you forget a word or two and the whole thing falls apart. Not to worry, I know what I'm doing!

[Boy he wishes he knew how to hide who he was. Their circumstances sounded different, but not by very much. There wasn't much he could do about it, but maybe offer a kind word.]

I knew of someone who carried a similar burden. They were born with a power they never wanted, and it caused them an awful lot of trouble. But just like they found their way, there must be something someone can do to help you here.

[She wasn't sure if she wanted to give herself up, but it seemed like he at least knew of something similar to her situation. So for the first time she chooses to go with voice. Now you can tell it's a woman.]

Yeah, they spent their entire life feeling lost, except for a handful of friends who tried to guide them. It wasn't until they found others like themselves that they actually understood who they were, and what they were supposed to do.

[Of course, he doesn't wanna give away that this is basically the cliff notes version of his own story. He has no idea how people might feel that they have a dragon walking among them. Better to keep hidden for now, much as he wants to help the poor girl.]

But I didn't meet them that often. I would've liked to change that, but life takes you in different directions sometimes.

That's not exactly the same thing as what I am on about, because if I didn't have my problem, I'm sure I could easily have made friends and hang out with them like any normal person would. It's just that I tend to cause things to happen.

They were able to change into something different. Something people believed their kind would have destroyed the world. They were either wanted with a price on their head, or just flat out killed because of who they were.

And when you're a monster that supposedly threatened the world, word can get around mighty quick about who you are.
