Healing the 13th | Getting along like a forest on fire | Video

Ummm, does someone have any experience with delinquents?

[ For a moment, you could only hear Konoka, rather than see her. The picture seems to be pointed toward the ground and thus doesn't have any good view of much anything. A vine appears however, pulling it from the ground and lifting it to a hand, which finally displays Konoka's face. She looked a bit worried and indecisive. ]

Because Negi-kun changed on me all of a sudden! He used to be so small and cute, and all of a sudden he's huge and... delinquent looking! And he used to get along so well with Yuunagi-han... now look!

[ Just to illustrate her point, her video turned to see that the small looking Pancham that was seen minding her store sometimes had changed form. He was now a big, burly creature with fur that resembled a trenchcoat. And he was currently snarling and arguing with Konoka's Umbreon in Pokemon-ese. Her Audino looked on worriedly. The helpful vine from earlier belonged to her apparent new addition, Bulbasaur. ]

At this rate, I'll have to keep them in their Pokeballs away from each other. They'll never get along like this! I wish I knew what they were arguing about...

By the way, what happened to our couch...? [ She looked aside to see that part of her couch had been eaten, just like Setsuna's post complained about earlier... ]

It looks like it evolved or something... maybe? It's definitely different than before, and I've seen a couple of these around town.

As for the couch, I can't say. It does look like it was chewed on.

I can't believe I forgot about evolution!

[ Konoka feels immensely silly, because she can now recall several instances, including... ]

Yuunagi-han did it last year and I talked with several people who talked about theirs evolving... but I had no idea what caused him to evolve.

[ She looked back at Negi-kun and Yuunagi... who were now staring each other down. ]

I've heard about Pokemon going through personality changes. Maybe that startled Yuunagi-han...

[ And then she looked at the couch. ]

I think Secchan mentioned something about a Pokemon earlier, and I was too out of it yesterday to remember. Yikes...

So it did evolve! Well that's something to keep in mind. Togepi seems to be a child-level Pokemon, but it's already displaying traits like a exercise buff.

[He must have rolled the "swole" Togepi.]

Hmm, that might be it then. The other pokemon must have chewed on it.

[ Konoka looked at her Pokemon. ]

Must have been Secchan's Pokemon. Neither Negi-kun nor Yuunagi look like the couch-eating type. And my other Pokemon are a bit better behaved.

[ Audino cooed in response to this. ]

[He chuckled at that.]

Mine is definitely not the couch eating type. More like the bench press the couch type.

Negi-kun looks like he could bench press a couch.

...while I'm still on it.

[ He's almost seven feet tall, by her guestimations. ]

Do you have room to house Negi then?

[Cause that was a big Pokemon.]

It doesn't look like it.

I don't want to just keep him cooped up in his pokeball though--ah!

[ Konoka looked back to see them shouting now. Alarmed, she immediately went out to break up the fight.

Please wait, girls are disciplining their Pokemon... ]

Oh dear.

[And he'll wait while the ridiculousness takes place.]

[ When Konoka comes back, however, she looks teary. ]

After all that and they look so crestfallen... disciplining your own children is so much more difficult!

It's okay, it'll get easier over time, but making sure that everyone has boundaries and discipline is a good thing.

[He would offer some tips, but later. Would school discipline even work on Pokemon?]

[ Konoka dries her tears in short order. ]

We have so many Pokemon now. Negi-kun used to mind the store. Will he be alright? What if the store's visitors find him scary?

As for being scary well...

What about giving him an apron? With the store logo on it?

Hmmm. That could be an idea...

Where would I get a designer to imprint the store's logo on an apron though... I'll have to look in the newspaper ads.

Newspaper is probably a good idea. I don't have any skill in it, but I could keep a look out for someone who is capable of doing so.

...by the way, did you get any Pokemon?

I got a Togepi. He tends to ride around in my hair a lot while he isn't working out.

He's an exercise buff.

Most of the Pokemon I've received haven't stuck around for long. Most of them I fed outside the apartment, but I found good homes for them. It's just me and Togepi right now.

He wants to stick around.

I got most of my not-so-little-anymore guys last year. Yuunagi-han was just a small Eevee then, she was my first one to follow me!

That's nice. I always wanted a companion like this so Togepi and I are in the long haul.

Do you have enough room? You might need to invest in a place with a yard.

I'll have to look at it, or stopping by a few parks during work. My Pokemon seem to get plenty of exercise just following me around since I patrol Fayren now.

Sounds like a good plan. They need to work off the extra energy they have.

Ah, it's that couch. I hope she found a teething tire.

Maybe you need to put them in time out? I hear that if kids know who has authority in a room, they behave better.

They look so sad now! Parenting is so tough...

[He did see their ears droop. And now he is tearing up right with her.]

Y-You did a good job! Parents have to be tough for the kids to grow up well! [sniff.] You're a great PokeMom!

[ Konoka attempts to clear up her tears. ]

I guess when you're around them all the time, it gets tougher to do the right thing. But I must, those Pokemon depend on me!

Exactly! They're trusting us to be good guardians, so..!

[Eliot, too, tries to wipe his tears away.] It's so hard to scold them when they're so cute, though!

I know right? Negi-kun even looks pretty cool!

Hopefully it will get easier as they learn our ground rules... Like no fighting or biting strangers...

I don't like scolding Ami. She makes such sad noises.

I know. But like you said, we must be firm with them!

We must... [He sighs sadly.] You seem to have gotten through to yours, however. Have they calmed down?

[ As if checking, her Audino hops off and goes over to talk to them. They murmur something, and Audino comes back, murmuring something to Konoka. She's not good at Pokemon-ese, but Audino's expressions are much easier to interpret. ]

Yeah, it looks like they're just zealous about helping me out.

[That cures his mood. Eliot is such a sucker for sweet and happy endings.]

Sometimes people or... whatever these creatures are need to fight it out until they get tired.

I'm pretty sure it's normal that way.

...something about this seems too different. Maybe it might be good if they vent it out before it gets worse.

There could be other various factors like jealousy for example.

People get into fights for a number of factors. Superiority is another one.

So in that case, I'll have to settle it as their master either way, right?

Yes, show them whose boss in a sense. if you say no fighting and they are aware they know not to fight.

Why is parenting so tough? They looked so sad!

Sometimes you gotta be harsh to get them to behave. If you are too nicey nice they can walk all over you.

I know that, but...

[ She still looked pathetic for a moment before she shook it off. ]

...no, you're right. I must be tough, they depend on me.

Reward them when they are good, punish when naughty.

[Even though she is a demon, even she at least understands that and it's something she is planning on doing with hers so long as they help her with her goals.]
