[Action in Genessia City]
[In her years in Genessia, Karla has had Pokémon encounters in the past. For some reason, they had never stuck with her, though. Not that she particularly cared. But this newest group that she's managed to acquire were quite endearing for some reason. Perhaps they were cute? Or perhaps she realized that if she trained them properly, they could assist her in her Deputy Guardian duties?]
[So Karla could be found in Genessia City, patrolling with three small Pokémon: a Squirtle, a Poochyena, and a Swablu, skipping happily at her side. Even Karla herself had more pep in her step than usual as she spoke to them while they walked.]
So, I've been told in the past that Pokémon really enjoy battling. However, I'm not one to stand around and let the creatures fight my battles for me. So I think we should train and practice fighting together. As Deputy Guardian of Genessia City, it's my duty to protect people from all kinds of danger, and I think you guys could really help me out with that. Is that all right with you?
[The Pokémon nod, responding affirmatively with their respective sounds.]
Great. For now, I think it's time for a break...
[Karla walks a bit farther ahead, sitting at the next bench. Squirtle and Swablu sit next to her, while the Poochyena curls up in her lap. Karla smiles as she strokes the pooch's fur.]
Looks like I have my work cut out for me this time...but hopefully it'll pay off in the end.
[It would also further compensate for her own lack of powers...]

The latest
[Satsuki's voice could be heard from behind, and one could safely assume the attack connected since a Klink goes flying by the bench, bounces off the ground, then falls upon it's back. Satsuki slings her pokeball in an attempt to capture it and- It shakes once... Twice... Thrice.. Then clicks.]
Hmph..
[As she approaches the bench, her Alolan Diglett pops up from the ground which sends the ball flying up into her grasp. At the same time, she notices Karla.]
.. Deputy.
At least you're the firstest? XD
It was confirmed as it was captured in a Pokeball. She was almost tempted to jump up and help the poor creature before remembering that this was the normal procedure for Pokémon trainers. So she watched in suspense as the Pokeball wiggled and then clicked. She was then content to let the would-be trainer go on his or her way until she heard the voice addressing her, prompting her to look back.]
Satsuki?
[Well, here was someone she hadn't expected to see here. In fact, it was the first time she's even seen Satsuki in person, oddly enough.]
What a pleasant surprise. What brings you all the way out here to Genessia City?
[Well, she wasn't sure of the actual distance between the cities, but the archways made them seem quite far from one another.]
I'll takeit!
[She confirms it is indeed her, only to end up just a bit caught off-guard by her arrival being described as 'pleasant'. Well.. That does feel a little nice, and she even gives a very small smile in return.]
I.. Suppose it is. [Awkward response is awkward.] I had caught word of several wild pokemon in the area and decided to give it a look before returning to covering Nova again. I did not think I would find a steel-type here, and yet here we are.
[She tightens the grip upon the pokeball, then looks to Karla's troupe.]
I see you have gathered quite a few yourself.

These Pokemon are still so strange to me, even after all this time. This is the first time I've been able to keep any.
[She looks up towards Satsuki, particularly at the pokeball in her hand.]
That Pokemon you just caught...what was that?
no subject
Is that so? Well, I believe you may find them quite useful for your line of work; for example, I believe your Poochyena should be able to learn Odor Sleuth. It has worked rather well for my Furfrou.
[Satsuki then takes a moment to fiddle with her pokebit.]
I have captured a steel-type pokemon called 'Klink'. Steel types generally catch my interest; so I have decided to capture more this time.
