[Really, the old man wasn't much of her concern. In fact, Satsuki really hadn't been paying attention to a number of requests that have been written in the newsletter lately. However after spending some time in Nova City, she had decided that needed to change. Just because she didn't particularly care didn't necessarily mean they should go unexplored.

Of course, the restlessness of the Elite Four (minus two plus one) played a part in this decision as well. Not to mention of Ryuko were to work with them, she would need to get Nonon and Ira adjusted to their newest recruit of sorts.

This mission is rather straightforward; a suitable way to start things off since she suspects things may get a bit rocky. There are no special instructions, other than to work together via utilization of their strengths and formations, as well as ad-libbed strategies (she not to subtly stressed the importance of a compass and map-drawing though, even if one of them can fly.) Fifteen hour time limit- any longer and she'll have to get them out herself and be quite unhappy about it. Satsuki of course will remain available over a network private feed since she has matters of her own to take care.

She also didn't assign a leader on purpose. Have fun!]

[Gamagori examined the ruins from afar once he arrived. He'd brought along a notebook and a couple pencils for a map, but was going to hand that off to Matoi. After all, if he was going to be leading them, he'd need his attention elsewhere, right?]

[ Ryuko shows up a few minutes later, clad in an outfit not entirely fit for exploration and sipping a cup of Novabucks coffee. ]

Tch, what kind of old man goes exploring ruins anyway?

[Last and most petite but most certainly not least comes Nonon. Her outfit looks no more fitting for exploration then Ryuko's does, but in her case it was her uniform. So she has a reason for coming dressed a bit on the goofy side.]

I don't know, and I don't really care either. All I care about is getting finished so we can get paid.

[She sounds a little hostile when she's answering Ryuko. Its subdued, as if she's at least putting a tiny bit of effort into not just being openly rude, but only with minimal success. Seems someone still hasn't quite accepted her as one of the group yet. Don't worry, Matoi. She'll warm up eventually. And you might even get your own insulting nickname, too!]

[ There for reasons of their own - i.e. Because Satsuki told them to go - the first impression of the ruins they reach is oooooooooooooold. Much of the structure had broken down over time, with moss and vines desperately trying to reclaim what was was theirs. Chunks of rock, stone and fallen pillars litter the area, Furthest in is a loose slab barely hiding a pathway - a set of stairs down into ruins proper, and probably where the old man entered. ]

[Gamagori surveys the ruins from where he stands in silence for a long moment before pulling the notebook and pencils from beneath his uniform, and practically forcing them on Ryuko.]

We'll need a map once we get inside. I can see what looks to be a path going in... most likely that slab fell after the old man went in.

[He takes a few steps forward, just taking it for granted that Ryuko would accept the role given to her, and that he was in charge of the little expedition.]

[ Ryuko, of course, doesn't merely accept them. In fact, she's shoving them back into Gamagori's hands. ] Hey, I can't lead with this junk! You take care of this! [ And then she'll take the lead.

It's obvious this is her job, yo. ]

Come on, let's not waste any time then. [ She pulls out her twin scissor blades from her pocket, expanding them to full size. SEE SHE HAS HER HANDS FULL ANYWAY. ]

[The petite musician stares at Ryuko as if she grown a second head and started shooting fire while tap-dancing and juggling ignited dynamite. In other words, she finds the way she's acting a little difficult to believe.]

Why would we want YOU to lead?

[There's all sorts of practical reasons to let Gamagori go first. For one, he's huge. He'll make a good tank. Also, she knows he's trustworthy. That's a plus. Furthermore, she isn't harboring a somewhat selfish dislike of him.]

[Gama just rolls his eyes for a moment, attempting to stuff the notebook down the back of Ryuko's shirt.]

Mapping is not my area of expertise. [...Or Nonon's really. If only Inumuta were here, he'd already have it mapped out.]

And no, you're not leading, Matoi. I am.

What, and you think I know anything about mapping? [ HRRRNGH! ] Fine, then screw it! We won't bother with a map!

I'm still leading, though!

[ Hopefully the little power struggle was sorted out - or would be sorted out quickly. The old man they're supposed to be finding might be dead by the time they get it straightened out! In any case, once they (eventually) get into the ruins, it the path leads straight ahead before turning right - just before it turns, there is a door on the right side of the path, giving the adventurers two options to explore. ]

[It looks like this little expedition is off to a wonderful start! That poor man has perhaps the worst group ever to come and rescue him. It seems like they can't even figure out who is in charge. Nonon is following along as the others move in just to not be left behind. The whole time, however, she's chirping away.]

I guess its fine if you go on ahead. You probably won't be much help anyway, so at the very least you can be the one that steps into the trap and makes the ceiling fall on top of you. But don't do something like trying to give me orders. You may technically be related to Satsuki-sama, but don't expect to just walk in and expect people to do what you say. That's just being stupid!

[Gama is managing to keep up as well, even if he does have to stoop to avoid hitting his head on the ceiling.]

Nonon's right. The Elite Four have earned the trust we have. As far as either of us remember, you have no experience working as a part of a team, let alone leading anything. Nonon and I have both led Raid Trips, and I was a Student Council President myself before Satsuki-sama recruited me. Your record only shows you're exceptionally prone to charging headlong into traps - even when you know there are traps laid out for you.

If you want to work with us, then you will have to earn our trust as well.

[ Damn, Nonon is really coming down hard. Ryuko knew she didn't like sharing her precious Satsuki, but this was ridiculous. Ryuko is Satsuki's sister, not a threat to them.

And Gamagori is... Gamagori. It isn't something she held against him, but it was annoying nonetheless. She considered ignoring it and marching on - hell that'd probably be easier - but no. She whirls around, then marches back on to Gamagori, not letting his superior size stop her from standing toe to toe with him and glaring up at him. ] Look, Satsuki wants this to work out, so I'm damn well going to make sure it does! But how the hell am I supposed to prove myself if I'm just a tag-along, huh!?

[ She doesn't back off, but she does tone down her anger a bit. Still looking the ~~much~~ taller boy in the eyes, she continues. ]

Besides, you don't need to explain how good you are to me. I already know the two of you could do this on your own.

...So does neesan. [ She glances aside at the end there, away from both Gamagori and Nonon.

So in the end, it sounds more like Ryuko's concerned with proving herself to her sister, and she's convinced the only way she can do that is to take charge. ]

[That is just the sort of girl that she is. Besides, there is no doubting that she feels her relationship with Satsuki is threatened by the other girl. She had always thought of herself as Satsuki's closest confidant, and perhaps her closest friend as well. And now the loudmouthed transfer student thinks she's going to just barge in and take everything away? Not on her watch!]

How stupid are you? You think you're going to prove yourself by trying to boss us around? You see how I'm not trying to take control, right? That's because I know it makes the most sense for the dog to go ahead of us both.

[She trusts Ira of course, but she won't miss the chance to take a tiny little jab at him.]

Not being in control doesn't mean you're a tag along. Or are you saying that only the leader can do anything and everyone else is worthless? Because I'm not about to let you call me worthless!

[Now she's the one all up in Ryuko's space. She may be the smallest of the three, but that isn't holding her back.]

If you want to prove yourself, work with us. If you're good enough to be in charge, maybe Satsuki-sama will let you lead someday!

[She may look annoyed, but she is at least trying not to just dismiss the girl, no matter how much she just wants to tell her to go home. Its a sign of just how much she thinks of Satsuki.]

[Jeeze things were getting cramped. First Ryuko was all up in his space, and then Nonon got up in hers. Trying to get between them was... something of a challenge, so he'll settle for just inserting an arm.]

Satsuki-sama sent the three of us because all of our skills are needed. Nonon is right, with my uniform, I'm the best suited to take the brunt of whatever traps lay in wait for us. The two of you have different roles because of your different abilities.

If you want to earn our trust, you can start by working with us rather than ordering us around. Not even Satsuki-sama got that privilege lightly. She approached each of us individually, showed us her vision, and inspired us. We gave our lives and respect to Satsuki-sama because she first gave hers to us.

You may be Satsuki-sama's sister, but you have much to learn from her.

[ Speaking of traps, considering the amount of noise the group is currently making they may not notice the sound of rattling. Faint at first, it is growing in volume, sounding like rain falling on a metal sheet. The noise gets louder by the second, until from around the corner the rattling, clacking is revealed to be several bugs about half the size of one's fist, black in color and glistening wetly. Antennae wiggle briefly, following the sound of the noise and, with sharp mandibles and claws clacking as they scuttle across the floor, they make a beeling towards the interlopers, hungrily. ]

[ You know, that left Ryuko with a lot to think about and a lot to respond to, but then these bugs just had to come and interrupt them!

Ryuko whirls around after hearing and sensing their approach. Scissor blades in hand, she points towards the group of approaching insects. ]

Can't you see we're in the middle of something!? Scram! [ And if they wouldn't listen, she'd just slice them up. She swings both of her blades multiple times, cutting through air pressure ~~and maybe chi idk how this shit works~~ while maintaining her distance. She had to hold back a lot - she didn't want the place collapsing down on top of them - but it should do... something.

At the very least, give the other two time to transform. ~~Like they'd really need to against a bunch of bugs though.~~ ]

[It was unlikely that those bugs were going to listen to any demands. They were bugs! Nonon has all sorts of things she is itching to say, but those stupid skittering jerks just had to pick then to show up. On the bright side, perhaps the break and some minor slaughtering will lower the tension a little bit.]

Whats this supposed to be? You little things might have been dangerous to that old guy, but not to me!

[Like Ryuko thinks, she doesn't bother to use her uniform while in battle against mere insects. It would be easy to blast them with one shot, but that would be extreme overkill. Instead she twirls her trusty baton, fearlessly charging for and swatting at the nearest insect who dares interrupt her conversations.

[While Ryuko and Nonon took care of the enemies in front, Gamagori activated his uniform and blocked the path behind them, smashing any bugs that came near.]

Enough! Both of you! Focus on the task at hand! If we are to fulfill Lady Satsuki's order, we cannot afford to waste time bickering. Satsuki-sama entrusted this mission to us, and I will not return to her in failure!
