[Hikari appears on-screen looking more than a little sheepish. Not quite shy, but not so enthusiastic as she might have otherwise been. Mainly because the bulk of the work had already been done for her, but that meant she had to track down all those last minute details and whatnot.]

I know Takeru already spoke with a few people, but...I thought, since he made the last announcement so public, it would be easier to do the same.

[Less she risk accidentally leaving anybody out.]

I was planning to take a trip to the Hot Springs with a friend of mine. Any other girls who said they want to come along...we'll be meeting up at the Amagi Inn in Fayren. It should only be a day trip, so I doubt we'll need any rooms. Unless anybody wants to stay there afterwards.

Is tomorrow afternoon alright with everyone? Around noon, so we could have lunch first.

[ACTION]

[The Inn is a lovely modern-styled building that immediately offers an aura of relaxation and luxury. Hikari will be waiting by the entrance for any and all who RSVPed, as promised, idly checking her messages until approached.]

Oh, you are Takeru's girlfriend. Hello! I'm Dray, a friend of his.

It's nice to finally meet you. [His ears move up and down, as if to wave at her.]

[The response would have been far more surprising if she hadn't already known he'd made a public announcement. So, rather than a caught off-guard expression, hers was merely sheepish.]

Hello, Dray.

It's a pleasure to meet you as well.

[His smile never falters bit it softens. Nothing to be nervous about, really, young lady.]

Hi. Takeru always spoke very highly of you, so I was hoping we got to meet one day.

[It wasn't so much that she was nervous. Just...curious...as to what Takeru might have said. Knowing that boy, it could have been anything from over the top praise to one or two trolling comments tossed in for humorous measure.]

He did?

Yeah. he didn't tell me how you two meet, however. I figured you are both from the same world.

[She nodded.]

We are.

We've known each other since we were kids. i met him when I was eight.

A childhood love, that's adorable.

You must know a lot of embarrassing stories of him as a kid. [DO SHARE.]

I do know some stories. But...I'm not sure I could call them embarrassing.

[She would never do that to him. Not until he gave her a good reason.]

Most of the good ones are about him being a hero.

Ah, those sound even better.

[Honestly it's not as if Dray wants to mock Takeru, he just wants to know more about how these two grew up.]

What did he do?

He saved me. [To put it in the simplest of terms. Although...when she stopped to think about it for a moment:] ...he saved me a lot, actually.

[Not that she wasn't already aware of this fact. Just...this was one of those rare times she spoke the words aloud. Especially to someone who wasn't a fellow Chosen.]

In general? Or from something like, monsters and vampires and warlocks?

Both.

[Except, she actually had to stop and think about each one of those. Doing a mental count in her head before coming to a realization. And a slight amendment:]

Well...no warlocks. That I can remember.

[But the rest was fairly accurate--considering the first time he'd ever seen her, she'd literally been in the clutches of a vampire digital monster. So....yeah.]

No Warlocks is a good thing, they're really scary. I'm sorry you had to fight again monsters when you were little, though. No kid should go through that.

[Ouch. Yeah that sounds like trouble.]

Yeah. They shouldn't.

But...it's alright. For all the bad things that have happened to us because of it...there were good things that happened too.

[She got to meet some of her closest friends. And Tailmon.]

Then I'm glad. My childhood was also cut short, so I know how bad things could accumulate until they reach and unbearable point.

Is good to know it wasn't so bad for you, guys.

...I didn't say that.

[Because it was still pretty bad. Especially those last few moments before she (and the others) were brought to Genessia.]

There were some really awful things that happened. I wish I could say otherwise, because even though they were that awful...it's because those awful things happened that I was able to meet Takeru and the others.

AH.

And how come all that happened to you? Your parents couldn't help? or other adults?

No. It had to be us. We were the Chosen.

[The word seemed to carry a much heavier weight to it than usual. Even in context.]

Oh...but chosen for what?

To save the Digital World from anyone or anything that might try to destroy the balance.

[She was not exaggerating in the slightest.]

The digital wo...? You mean the Internet?

[She shook her head.]

No.

It's another World. Like this one. Only the Digital World is connected to ours.

Ah...and what does it control? Why is the balance necessary?

[You got the kitty curious now.]

[Oh, curious kitty. If only Koushiro were here. He would be able to explain all of this so much better than Hikari was sure she ever could.]

[...then again, if Koushiro were here, they'd be here the rest of the day.]

Balance is always necessary. Just think...if there's too much Darkness, then things can go really wrong. People and Digimon get hurt. Evil takes over.

[He's only trying to understand not to pry, but the explanation isn't giving him a lot of details to work with.

Yes, that I can understand. But that digital world is another reality? Were the things there attacking your world? Or the other way around?

[This is why she was not good at stories. Long durations of speaking time in which precise facts and details were required? Leave it to Knowledge? Short bits of slightly vague, yet important insight? All Light.]

They did. Not at first, but after Oniichan disappeared the first time, they started appearing in our World. But I was the only one who could see them. Then, I remember...they started appearing for real. Because they were all looking for me.

But that was years ago. Sometimes, the danger is only in the Digital World. But right now, it's a danger that can spread across both worlds because Yggdrasil...

[And here she paused, because this was the part where her memories started to get fuzzy. Because of what had happened next...]

Yggdrasil didn't want us to interfere anymore, so he was trying to get the Digital World to reject us. Even after everything we'd done. And then...I think he was going after our world next. But I don't remember. Not all of it.

[He will stop asking if he noticed her getting uncomfortable, promise.]

That makes more sense..kinda. It must have been really upsetting if you were so young.

I read about Yggdrasil in a mythology book int he library. Isn't it a big magic tree?

I don't know.

We've never met Yggdrasil in person.

Oh. But you said he was going after our world. Did someone else stop him?

[It was a work in progress.]

No. Not yet. At least...not as far as I know.

It's difficult to explain, but Yggdrasil is much more powerful than a single presence. Its influence can literally control the whole of the Digital World. And it has digimon and other beings, I'm sure, working under its orders.

So he's like some sort of god. We are lucky he's not here.

[And here she is, arriving a few minutes early, excited and ready to go, slinking her arm into Hikari's arm.]

Do you know who else will be coming with us? Or will it be a surprise?

[Hikari, being Hikari, could do very little about her sudden loss of personal space. So she resigned herself to let Mimi be Mimi.]

Takeru did give me a couple of names. I think one of them was... Suguha? He's mentioned her a couple of times before, so I'm not surprised she would be on the list.

[It wouldn't be long till Suguha ran up, waving as she breathed heavily for a moment.]

Ran all the way here. Hi, Hikari and Mimi right? I'm Suguha. Nice to meet you both!

[And speaking of!]

[Hikari turned at the sound of heavy breathing, recognizing the girl from Takeru's description even before she introduced herself.]

Hello, Suguha. I'm Hikari. [Shifting her weight to fully face the other girl, she offered a light bow of her head in greeting. And a warm smile.] It's nice to meet you as well.
