[Okay, as far as Natsuki knew, it was time for them to get ready for the school festival. She was pretty confused when she woke up in a strange cocoon coffin thing. Just what the heck is going on here? Did she blank out on her walk to school that she ended up in a strange location after all? No. None of this was logical.

Checking her uniform pockets, she looked around for her poem for the festival, but that was gone; guess she forgot to bring it with her. But instead of her phone being here, she found a different one near her upon waking up. She didn't use it immediately; Instead, she seemed to be a little... distracted with her thoughts. They weren't even entirely because of waking up in a strange location though. So after a good few minutes, she finally clicked on the phone after figuring out how to use it for the most part.]

Uhm... So I don't suppose anyone here knows about the school festival going on, do they? If I'm not there for it, Monika is going to be really angry with me and I really don't need to deal with that right now.

[At least she'd heard the hologram before turning it on but it's still... concerning either way.]

I know that girl in the hologram said that we're in a strange new world called.... [What was it called again? Gen... Whatever.] Well, just in a new world, but that can't be true, can it? That kind of stuff only happens in mangas...

I'm not sure what to think about all of this, but I could really use some answers.

... Oh! And by chance does anyone know if any of my friend would be here? Their names are Monika, Sayori, and Yuri.

[And the player, but we'll pretend she said that as well since the name is chosen by each person.]

[OOC: I have an Opt-out post for Natsuki regarding anyone interested in playing DDLC, but doesn't want spoilers. Be warned that there will probably be a decent amount of spoilers in the comments since DDLC is a pretty intense game with sensitive topics. Also if anyone would rather their manga characters not to be noticed by Natsuki, let me know that as well.]

N-Natsuki--!? Is that really you? Where are you? I'm coming to find you right now!

[Normally she'd be a bit less... this, but she's been here making new friends, and seeing a face she recognizes is igniting some ~~temporary~~ happy emotions in her.]

Sayori?! Thank god you're here. I'm so confused about what's going on.

[No point hiding her joy to see her friend in this circumstance.]

Uhm... I woke up in some weird cocoon thing?

I can explain when I get there. [Deep breaths, Sayori.] Stay right where you are, okay? By the place you woke up -- I remember where that is. [A beat.] I think...

Okay.

[Was all she said since she really didn't know where she was and Sayori seemed to. It was probably better to just let her come to her. When she comes by, she'll just be sitting on the edge of the pod, waiting whiling looking at her items that she woke up with.]

[It didn't take long to find her, thankfully -- as big a city as Genessia City was, she could still retrace her steps to the docks. Upon seeing Natsuki, though, she just smiles and waves.]

Hi.

[She was just glad to see her friend. She has no idea what happened to Sayori from her point of time, so she'll just continue this like she would normally... If, you know, it was normal to be taken to a random world...]

Hey. [A beat.] So can you explain to me what's going on? I thought we had the festival today.

[To Sayori, anything past the last time she saw her friends was nothing but a blur to her. Maybe everything after that was just a dream -- or a nightmare. She wasn't sure. But she was sure that the person standing in front of her was real. She wasn't a hallucination, or a dream.]

It's... kinda hard to explain, really. As far as we know, some outside force has managed to kidnap us from our own worlds and drop us here. [A small pause.] It sounds crazy, but anyone with a necklace here has been saying the same thing. Like the one you have now. And mine. [She points to hers.]

A-as far as we know, being here doesn't mean we're missing from our worlds. I don't think time passes at all. I've been here for almost a week now -- and the last thing I really remember was leaving school the Friday before the festival.

[She holds up a couple of items that she still has from her own awakening in Genessia.]

They gave us a little bit of money and a key so we can stay in this place called the Commonspace for our first month! But everyone's suggesting that we need to get jobs and find a place to live before the first month is over.

Wait! Hold on! You're saying this is all real?! It can't be! This sort of thing only happens in manga...

This makes no sense? Why would we be taken here in the first place? I just saw you 2 days ago.

I-I don't know, Natsuki... I don't know. [She looks crestfallen.] B-But it is real. We have to accept it as real. [And then she smiles softly again.] For now, we can make the most of it, though. Until we can find answers, or find our way back home.

It may not make sense, but we're both here, aren't we? That makes it real enough!

[And as if to illustrate her point, she walks forward and wraps her arms around Natsuki in a hug.]

[She was about to protest, but the hug threw her off. Not that Sayori showing affection was strange, just that she wasn't quite expecting it there. She let out a small sigh; How could she possibly be mad at Sayori when she was like this? Not that she was in the first place. It was more like she was just frustrated about what was going on.]

Yeah, yeah... I get it. So we're just supposed to cope? I've never had a real job before this.... [It would have helped with her home life, but she'd never been able to do so for a few reasons.]

[It didn't even faze Sayori that Natsuki reacted the way she did; that's just the way she was. And Sayori was okay with that -- she just wanted to show her she cared. And that she was real too.]

Yeah. I haven't, either... but it could be fun! [And she's back to happy-go-lucky Sayori.] There's all kinds of jobs. I bet there's a baker job or two open -- you could blow everyone away with your delicious cupcakes!

[It wasn't that Natsuki was averse to hugs, she was just sort of used to getting them by Sayori. And no matter how much she complained, she'd always felt like they had helped her out; so at least they weren't for nothing. Trying to do something like that would probably take a bit more will power from her over time.]

Oh, I suppose that's true. I guess that wouldn't be so bad... [And... something she liked doing.] But where to start about finding a place to stay..? I think the lady said we only had a month to find a place?

We could always get a place together! [A beat.] It's easier to split the cost of an apartment than to try and live on your own, you know? And I've been looking for a job too.

[...Granted, she wasn't sure what kind of job someone like her could keep, given... certain issues, but that wasn't something she could bring up with anyone just yet.]

That's true. [She wasn't sure she could actually afford her own by herself after all.] I guess the next thing is to find a place to stay after finding a job. Do you have any ideas?

Not really... [She perks back up.] But I've heard there's apartments in all the cities! We'd just have to find jobs in the same city we want to stay in, if we want an easier way to live. There's, um... Fayren, Everglade, Attleton, and Nova City. We're in Genessia City, in the middle of those four. [She counts the four cities on her fingers as she says this, and pokes the middle of her hand as she says 'Genessia City'.]

Well, we'll find something. Should we just start here then?

Ah, I met Ms Monika a while ago... So she has friends.

[Does that mean this stranger has interesting world views too? Uai decides not to start off by prying into that.]

Welcome to Genessia, Ms...? Sorry, I didn't catch your name. My name is Uai.

( joker continues to be interrupted in his mission, this time by the ping of a phone, which he digs through the pockets of his coat for in order to shut it off and cease the distraction. but upon finding it and observing the screen, he discovers! yet another beautiful lady! this one seems...kinda younger than him BUT LOOK there's no age when it comes to being a gentlemen. )

But which God has blessed this thief's eyes, so he may discover beauty in this hellscape not once but thrice? This one though! Such vibrancy! Simply pink? No. She is la couleur de l'amour...

( he spins. and raises the phone. staring up at her. )

Does she require his protection from this dastardly...Monika?

[Woah! Somebody responded! Oh uh... This is not what she had in mind for a response.]

[She's just... really confused right now. How do you respond to something like that?]

D-Dastardly..? Monika? [If only she knew what was going on with Monika in this case...] I'm... not sure what you mean? I don't really need protection from her of all people.

[If only she knew. It doesn't help that he's cute and she has no idea how to deal with that. Why did it have to be a boy?!]

They might not be there right now, but they should still be living at the Commons, like every other new arrival. You have a key yourself.
