2nd Lure [Video / Action for anyone in Fayren]

[It's been quite a few days since his arrival, but he's settling into living in his new surroundings fairly well. Ultimately Ryu has set up a camp within Fayren, though a fair distance away from the city. It's a quiet evening that finds him practicing with his sword. Anyone examining the surrounding area can tell he's had time to settle the immediate area around his tent. It certainly looks a bit more hospitable than one might initially find on wandering through a forest. If anything, this is the closest Ryu has found to home.]

It's nothing like Cedar Woods, but with enough time and money I think I could come to make something here. I'd like to extend an offer to anyone interested. If you have a desire to become strong, or brush up on your swordsmanship, I wouldn't mind showing a few pointers. All I ask is that you use your skills to better yourself, or only use them to defend yourself in case of trouble. I'd really prefer not having to draw against you if you use what I teach to assault others.

[To that end he enters his tent, returning to the camera's view after a moment with a wooden sword in hand.]

Chihiro, this is yours. I've been working on setting aside some space out here in Fayren. It's a little distance to walk, but consider it part of your training. The sword itself is yours to keep. I'll be waiting for you here.

And I suppose I'd like to ask all of you a question, if you don't mind. What are dragons like in your worlds? Are they good? Evil? Or something else? Let's just say I'm a little curious.

[ Wherever Lucy is, she's somewhere in Fayren too, though she's not alone. Nope, there are two kids with her, running around playing with their dog; she's keeping an eye on them for Regina today. ]

Hmm. I guess you could say a little of both? Dragons have more or less disappeared from our world - or not so much disappeared as they've...gone somewhere away. The few dragons we have seen, Acnologia and the others - they seem to be evil. The ones I've spoken to anyway -...

But there are at least three people in our guild who have been raised by good dragons. SO maybe you could say the good ones are in the minority. Most of the dragons I've seen were from 400 years ago, and they don't live in our time anymore.

[Funny she should mention four hundred years. It's a strange little coincidence that makes Ryu chuckle.]

I've met a little of the same. There are dragons in my world that have given into malice, or were angry at the situation they were forced into. But many of them spoke out of hurt and anger, rather than truly wishing anyone any harm. Though I imagine our circumstances are a little different there.

[He smiles at the sight of the kids. He's rather fond of children.]

I'd like to meet your friends someday. I'm sure we might a thing or two to talk about.

[Chihiro had just gotten back home after buying a few things that were needed before he saw the message. Switching on, he was sitting at a table for the moment.]

Oh... thanks you. I-I'll be there as soon as I get changed. I-If that is okay of course?

Well, honestly in my home world there aren't any dragons, but in the place I was in before I arrived here there were some. [Minako crosses her arms over her chest, giving a firm nod. She is acting like she knows something when in all honesty she doesn't.]

From what I know of they were very quiet and only came to speak to us when they wanted to. One also ate worlds. [Yeah...] That was rather unusual I must admit though.

Dragons in my world are creatures created from the imagination and used for fairy tales and stories alike.

But I must admit they are fascinating stories if you ever want to read them.

[He nods.]

I'll be here, and the path to the camp site should be safe enough for you to travel.

I'm sorry, ate worlds?

[Yeah, for even as powerful as he is, that sounds kind of insane.]

So they mostly stayed out of human affairs then?

What kind of stories would have been told? I wonder if they're similar to what I've been hearing from others so far, or similar to my home?

[He shakes his head.]

Where I come from, they've been all but considered dead and gone after a war some centuries back.

Okay... Would you mind if I had directions. I've never actually been there before?

[So he would get lost so very easily.]

Yeah, he ate dying worlds but in this case he was going to eat ours, so a group of people got together to stop him.

It worked in the end and I believe he's back to eating only dying worlds again.

[She can't say she remembers 100%. She is pretending she wasn't there.]

I believe so. Only getting involved when they bring us to or from our world and that is when they decided. Or if they need to tell us something. Apart from that they left us well alone.

Just a bit, yeah. Apparently years ago, dragons ruled over humans and saw them as nothing more than cattle. Until some of the dragons allied with the humans, and taught them Dragon Slayer magic. [ Then things got really nasty. :/ ]

I'd love for you to meet my friends too. If you like you can stop by the guild?

Dragons? Well, let me see…they are powerful monsters for certain.

[There seems to be no malice or hostility in his tone with the word 'monster' - no more so than if he was talking about plants, animals or demons.]

Whether they are good or evil depends on the dragon, or on who they work for.

Why the question, if I may ask?

Hello Ryu.

[Her voice is as soft as usual but she is trying to extend a hand to the people that she has met within the city.]

When you say Dragon... do you mean a large lizard?

Dragon Slayer magic?

[It's difficult to hide he seems more than a little alarmed, as if he'd be under some sort of personal threat.]

Er... What do you mean by that?

Can you can teach someone to be strong?

[Let's pretend there are instructions here.]

If you'd like, I can come get you at the Archway since you've never been to Fayren.

I can teach them to be strong in a fight, but if you mean strength of character, then that's a little more complicated.

[He's learned first hand that being tenacious as hell just kind of comes by circumstance.]

I can teach someone how to hold a sword and defend themselves or others with it, but the resolve to do so has to be in the individual.

I hope nobody was harmed when this dragon turned his gaze on your world.

[He almost feels like he should apologize on their behalf.]

Dragons or no, nobody should get to decide someone's path in life. That should be for the individual to decide.

Just like any other person, right?

[He spends a moment mulling over an answer that might satisfy his curiosity.]

I was involved in finding out the truth about them where I come from. People believed they almost destroyed the world when in reality they were completely innocent.

Considering what we were fighting. There were injuries here and there but there were healers who helped.

[Well considering the whole world eater thing she could understand the dragons trying to save them, after all they wouldn't have known a thing otherwise.]

Well it was they try and save people or we wouldn't of had a clue about anything.

Usually dragons in stories are scary creatures who enjoy hoarding treasures and will attack anyone who comes across them.

[Though there were dragons in his world, or at least there use to by the sounds of it.]

I see...So is this why you are asking others?

It's magic to defeat dragons - the ones I told you about, that were attacking. Only ...those dragons back then - I don't know if we could have won against them in the end, even with that kind of magic.

I'm not surprised by your reaction though. Everytime we tell someone that someone in our guild has dragon slayer magic they take it literally. But I don't want you to offend the others by thinking and saying something wrong. The dragon slayers in our guild - they were raised by dragons, and taught slayer magic by those same dragons. They think of them as their parents - and I guess they may as well be. They wouldn't want to actually kill a dragon if they didn't have to. [ And honestly they would probably stop short of actually killing it and just send it packing anyway. ]

I figure if we're all stuck together for awhile, I'd like to know more about other worlds.

[He shakes his head.]

But they were innocent. That whole story everyone was told about the dragons almost destroying the world? All a lie. Even all mention of their true name was erased.

So they're not... Dragon hunters or anything like that, right?

[He could stand up to Garr well enough, but if he got on the bad side of these guys, there's no guarantee he could stand up to them if they came to some disagreement. He's usually much better at hiding his reaction to things, but it's clear the idea of being anywhere near someone calling themselves dragon slayers is a bit alarming.]

I'm not really the type of guy to start a fight with anyone. Live and let live, y'know? I'm sure we'd all get along just fine anyway!

No! No no no! Spirits No! If they did that, that'd be like hunting their relatives or something, I think.

We wouldn't start a fight with anyone either, least of all dragons. Even if they were causing trouble, we would rather try to reason things out with them than fight them.
