Apparently, I've been nominated for best dressed! [A giggle.] I think this calls for a new outfit or two! I don't suppose anyone would be willing to go on a shopping trip?
[or Action.]
[Mami sort of felt bad to be putting off patrols like this, but they haven't found any sign of witches at all. The closest thing she's found to one is Uai...And it would be a shame to let whoever nominated her down, right?]
[At least that's what she tells herself to focus on the task at hand...Which is presently buying way too many groceries for a normal person. This is because she was also nominated for best cooking! If you haven't questioned her absurd amount of groceries or anything, perhaps she comes up to you asking:]
Do you know where I can find sugar? [She giggled at herself.] I can't seem to find it anywhere?

[He knows he should apologize for like
everything
but also
REALLY NOT IN THE MOOD.]
Glad to know this week is turning out well!

[Hi, Mami. Remember what you thought about Uai?]

Oh? Uhm...
[Soma could probably see a dim light pulsing from her ring. She hid her hand behind her back quickly, and took a look around, trying to make it seem like she was trying to figure out where she was in the store. When in reality, she was looking for a barrier.]
Thank you very much.
[She was sure there was none nearby...So what is her ring reacting to? It couldn't be this guy, could it? How would she even bring up that possibility? Should she follow him around the store to see? No, that's a bit weird.]
We're...all from different worlds, right? This may be a bit odd, but I'm really fascinated about where other people came from.
[Not near as odd as you hiding your hand behind your back, or the giant pile or groceries your planning on buying, but ok.]
If you don't mind, I'd love to hear a bit about yours!
no subject
That's a bit of an odd thing to ask someone in the middle of a grocery store... but okay, I'll bite. I'm from a version of Earth where vampires, demons, and other assorted monsters are real, magic is highly secretive but available if you know where to look, and where a highschool kid just might end up the prince of shadows without really wanting the job.
[Are his canines just a bit longer than normal? Does his gaze feel heavier than a human's should? Do you feel like you're trapped in a cage with a lion? All of those are common experiences for most humans around him. But if he's a vampire, why does he have a basket full of what looks like snack foods?]
And you? I have a similar curiosity to yours, you see.
action.
[Kirika turned and looked to Miami.]
The fourth aisle.
[As for Kirika, she was doing her own shopping enough for herself.]
no subject
[She listened to his explanation. That would explain why her gem is reacting. She definitely felt a distinct feeling like danger was present, but she was confident enough in her abilities to keep her cool. She faced monsters on a daily basis, surely she could handle any problem here...If one arose, that is.]
I'm assuming that high school kid is referring to you, then?
[She bit the inside of her cheek as she debated how much to tell him.]
Well, I've never been too far from the city I grew up in. It's has a slightly more high tech feel than Genesia City, but other than that, they're pretty similar. There is some magic there too, but only certain people can wield it.
Re: action.
I really hope my roommates don't mind me baking a lot this month...I'm not entirely sure what I want to make yet.
no subject
[Answering a question with a question. Such subterfuge. He nods, though, as a concession.]
You could say that about me, yes. But you could also say I'm just a guy trying to get by in a world that's increasingly hostile, too.
[He frowns thoughtfully a moment, extending his senses toward her. What he finds... is not NEARLY what he expected. That frown deepens.]
You... Who the hell did this to you?
[That expression? Pain and horror, in about equal parts.]
no subject
I think that's a pretty good way to approach it. And yes, I a-
[What was that reaction?]
Pardon me? Who did...what to me?
no subject
[... Okay, fine.
He frowns, clearly uncomfortable with this:]
Uh so. So about... I’m sorry about... all of that... I promise, I’m not actually a lunatic.
[ACTUALLY.]
no subject
I'll forgive you since there wasn't any real damage done. But just know, I might not always be so lenient in the heat of battle.
[Ok, but does Uai really believe that?]
no subject
But thank you. I was surprised to see you’re a magical girl. Looking back, I suppose I shouldn’t have been.
no subject
[She giggled.]
Well, if you were surprised, then I was doing a pretty good job of hiding it for awhile!
no subject
[He even covers his face, ears turning red from embarrassment.]
I’m sorry you had to deal with something so stupid.
no subject
Don't worry about it, it's my job to help with that kind of thing.
[It really isn't.]
no subject
[He can hear his pride shattering.]
Though, you know... Last I checked, they have 'Guardians' here to reign stupid tantrums in.
no subject
no subject
Unless you're being paid?
no subject
[Is any part of that statement true though?]
I'm not being paid, but that won't stop me from doing my duty.
no subject
She's hardly convincing, but she isn't the first lonely hero he's encountered. Uai contemplates what to do for a moment... Hanging up and leaving her be is tempting, but he's got too much Good Egg.
Shoulda just cracked them both while he had a chance!]
... Okay. Then I'll just come hang out with you~! Eeevery time! [Tactic: Make heroism so annoying that she stops.]
no subject
Is... Is it normal for people where you came from, to have their souls outside of their bodies like that?
no subject
Alright. I should let you know, if you're going to patrol with me, you'll have to come over for tea and snacks afterwards. Otherwise, you won't be invited~ [Tactic: free taste tester get (?)]
no subject
[Super eloquent]
My soul...is outside my...body?
[She sounded like she couldn't believe it. But in her head she immediately thought of the one item in her possession that had the word soul in it's title. No way, though right?]
You're joking, aren't you?
no subject
no subject
[What are you planning on doing after the cooking contest, Mami?]
I'm sure we'll work up quite the appetite while we patrol!
no subject
[Soma. Is. Furious. That flashing thing her ring did before? It's probably damn near a solid glow right now.]
no subject
I-
[This was a bit too much to completely process here, and it probably showed on her face for a moment before she shoved trying to sort it out to the back of her mind. Her expression schooled into cool determination. The guy in front of her was dangerous. Even if his anger wasn't at her, she should still be on her guard.]
I did this to me.
[At least in her mind she did. She made her wish. This was her choice, even if she wasn't aware of the repercussions.]
no subject
[Ever get a sinking feeling that maybe you're getting in over your head? If you do, you should listen to it.
Don't be like Uai.]
So, when do we begin patrolling? Sounds like you have a schedule.
no subject
Then you have made a very grave mistake. The soul and body are not meant to exist separately. The body, knowing that it has been violated, will seek to regain its soul - and the soul will seek to return to the body. Kept separate, both will become increasingly corrupted, and eventually... you will turn into a monster. Possibly several of them. The power to separate soul from body is not common among humans. If someone assisted you in achieving this... please tell me who or what it was, because they must not be allowed to do it again.
video;
[He paused for a moment.]
Would it be okay if I join you? I mean I need to buy some new clothes myself and I could ask my friends, but I figured it would be better to get to know others this way.
video;
So why not ask someone who was in the best category.]
Can I ask for some fashion advice?
no subject
Kyubey...I took advantage of the opportunity Kyubey gave me. I was dying, and he gave me the opportunity to continue living.
But I've never heard of anyone turning into a monster before. That can't be the case! It can't be...If nothing else...Kyubey would've told me...And I-
[Yes she did just ignore a discovery that her soul was no longer in her body for the possibility of becoming a monster.]
No. You have to be wrong.
Re: video;
Of course! I don't do a lot of shopping with others, but if ever there were a time to start it would be now, wouldn't it?
You wouldn't happen to know any good clothing stores, would you? If not, we can go to one of the ones I've visited.
Re: video;
Or if you wanted, we can go shopping together for cute clothes.
no subject
[Was she just going to ignore than he called her out on the asset comment? Ok.]
It usually takes a few hours, even with my system in place.
no subject
I take back what I said about it being a mistake, then. But my warning stands - unless you find some way to halt or reverse the corruption, you will be changed. And if this Kyubey is around... well. He had best hope I don't meet him. What did he get out of this deal, anyway?
no subject
Kyubey got warriors to protect normal people from witches which are basically...
[Oh shit.]
I...I should go.
[Could they really become witches? Did Madoka and Sayaka know? What about Kyoko...Her precious kohai... She made to leave, ignoring her groceries.]
no subject
Hey! Before you go, where are you staying? I may be able to offer some help.
no subject
But...I don't think we'll need your help.
[Because if what she thought was true...there really was only one solution to this, wasn't there?]
Thank you though.
no subject
((OOC: He'd probably give her a day or two before turning up with her stuff. You want to wait til Mami finds out things from Madoka etc before continuing in this vein?))
no subject
Asset.
Is there some fineprint here that I'm missing? That's fine, but I kinda like to know what I'm signing. [He's teasing, of course. Mami seems trustworthy.]
video;
[Would be the best way for her to actually see what she could wear that wasn't necessarily a hoodie nine times out of ten, the one time being formal events.]
no subject
You agreed to tea and snacks after patrols. I was also nominated for best in cooking. So as you're coming over to eat what I make, you might as well give me an opinion on it, right? I won't take no for an answer.
Therefore, asset.

Re: action.
Entirely sure? [She wasn't quite sure why the girl had to bake.]
