[As usual, Lydia is being a terrible shitlord and just chilling... outside this time, it seems, if the fact her aurorus is happily nuzzling her shoulder like the giant dork he is. Lovely, that.
She's grinning at the camera for a moment before leaning back, here we go.]
I have a question for you, darlings, a hypothetical if you will. Mostly was thinking about recent going-ons and the interesting differences I've noticed between this place and home, cultural things, I guess.
What's everyone's opinions on necromancers? Yes, I mean the people that raise the dead or whatever they tend to do where you're from, they're a legitimate school of magic back home along with the major ones but even then there's still stigma there. Are they living humans or are they undead like liches or something? And if it can be either, is there a difference between them? Do people specialize in more than one school or type of magic?
Color me curious, if you will. Mind, I'm an illusionist, have been since I was way young, so I can't say I know much about other schools other than what I've heard in books and seen from wizards that specialize in that sort of thing~

IT depends on what you use your necromancy for. I think it's a fun way to mess up and have an army of zombies on your side. [Kii chuckled]
Any necromancer is interesting, but most of the time they are VERY annoying, especially with their excitement of raising the dead. If it wasn't for that, I'd find what they do..delightful. To bring someone back into the living as a full living creature to S U F F E R. HAhahahaha..
no subject
I've heard that necromancers do far more than just raise the dead for their own purposes, but that can be said of any school of magic. Illusionists don't just specialize in illusions, conjurers don't just conjure things... I assume the same can be said of necromancers.
no subject
They become EXTRA than their specialty.
[smirks] Are you something a little more..extra, girl?
no subject
Which is why she gets the most shit-eating grin in the history of ever.]
Depends on if I feel it's worth showing you or not, like I said, I'm an illusionist. I'm more fond of using it for my shows in tandem with my brother than for stupid shit. [Though she's absolutely and completely hating her using "girl" on her.]
no subject
[sighs] Besides, I've seen enough of magic, it kind of beats the sparkle out of ya. I doubt your magic isn't worth a thing.
[actually you're just envious, but okay there]
no subject
Oh but darling, I've honed my craft to put on quite the show here! You should come out and see it, my brother and I would love more of an audience~ [Do. Not. Do. It.]
no subject
Despite these red flashy bucks, I'm not risking wasting it on the likes of a faker.
[Kii was impressed by her patience..good. Now to think of a way to break Lydia into hating them]

I have three jobs on top of what I do with my place, so payment is hardly necessary. What we do we do out of a love of the performance, that's all. Simple enough. [And feeding on the suffering of others, but that's just the messy details of the matter.]
Mm. Well, I'm sure we can whip something up on the fly. Our residence is a building out in the Everglade woods, not hard to find.
no subject
[raises a brow]
-And another thing, why are these places separated? A proper kidnapper would have it all come together and see the chaos settle in. Make it a trapped game of who will be the last one standing OR taking down the kidnapper. Either or.
[huffs and mutters] ..Can't believe I'm in a Hunger Games universe what is this..
no subject
Honestly, I have no idea as to why that sort of thing was picked. But other than a few odd things here and there it seems less as if we were kidnapped for some sort of evil purpose as it just seems like... normal cities, admittedly I've only been here for, oh, going on five months or so now?
no subject
FIVE months? And you've STILL haven't figured out how to get out here? Normal life is fucking boring!

Are zhey? Zhen I might need to get to know a few around here.
[Yes, she might be smirking a little.]
Of course, zhats zo long az zhey don't mind being around a vampire.
no subject
[Ah right, vampires. That's. Certainly a thing.]
Mm, depends on the vampire, I'd think. But you're more than nice enough so I doubt there'd be a problem.
no subject
[Yes, it is definitely a thing. Especially with Rip.]
Oh~? Zhen I'm glad I meet your approval.
[Private]
This time it's not just little ol' me, either, my darling twin brother finally decided to show up as well. I'm sure Wonderland would be to your interests, too.
Re: [Private]
Your place iz easy enough to find in zhe voods, I'm razher sure I could find it blind.
[And she's probably right, Rip would probably find Wonderland interesting.]
Should I be vorried zhat zhere are two of you now~?
[Private]
I mean, the point wasn't to make it hidden. [Not like anyone can get in unless she lets them, unless they're a cheating prick that can teleport.]
Edward is no different than I am~ Though a little more inclined to play with people more than I am, I guess. [Eh, the two of them together are a nightmare, so as long as Rip stays on their good side, she's fine.]
Re: [Private]
Ah, but zhe places out in zhe open are zometimes zhe hardest ones to get into.
[Meaning, she knew better than to drop in without an invite.]
Zhen it sounds like I'll get along vith both of your vonderfully
[It also meant Rip would rather stay on their good sides just to remain off the receiving end of whatever hell they might dish up. She has more than enough nightmares that she doesn't need to add more to the pile.]
Re: [Private]
Isn't that just the truth~
[It's always better to be on their good sides since they've had over a thousand or so years to think up awful ways to do things to people. And none of them are good, after all. Comes with the neutral evil territory.]
I'm sure you will~ We're very personable people until given reason not to be, after all! [The friendliest liches, kind of.]
Re: [Private]
I haf no doubt~. Zhe same could be zaid about me... zo, lets try to stay on each other's good sides.
[Just like she's sort of a friendly vampire unless provoked?]
Re: [Private]
[Though she's grinning a little more than need be, oh boy.]
Besides, I still think you'd be a great boon for us as well. I can't say we've ever examined how a vampire feeding on an unwilling participant effects the amount of suffering a person gives off...
Re: [Private]
Zhen it sounds like ve need to experiment. Making zhem suffer before I devour zhem alvays adds such a delicious flavor to zheir blood. Besides, zheir screams are alzo lovely music to dine to.
no subject
As for me, I'm a jack of all trades magician. Are you perhaps interested in the art?
no subject
I mean, liches aren't something just raised from the dead by necromancers. They're necromancers turned undead via ritual, no? Or at least that's how I hear. [You know, ignoring the fact her whole little... group... died not long after her and Edward turned, oops. Details.]
In necromancy? Not particularly. I doubt I'd be skilled enough in it to be worth anything, illusion just came naturally for me~
[video]
[Belial.]
And I hardly say that as a cutesy nickname. They can be quite powerful if they live long enough to truly control their magic, but that fails to change the fact that each one of them I've met would sooner stick it in a cadaver than in warm and willing flesh.
[And honestly? It's kinda hard to tell how much of his tone is disgust and how much is put out and bitter.]
I don't know what necromancers you've dealt with but I can tell you that's certainly not the case where I come from. That's a necrophiliac which, oh my god, is not the same as a necromancer. That's disgusting. [Says the skeletal lich masquerading as an elf, whatever.]
It used to be necromancy was as fine and powerful an art as any other. I've taken many practitioners under my wing over the centuries, but these days it's all raise zombies this, corpse orgies that, and let's resurrect our god that's dead for a reason and pretend that he won't simply erase us with all the rest of the bloody planes.
[How long has that rant been sitting in him?? Deep breath.]
It's quite disappointing, really. Children these days just don't have the same respect for the world that they used to.
As for the creatures I've seen who have raised the dead? I can't really call them necromancers...
Balance between life and death? Oh come on, it's not as if the Raven Queen doesn't already have her own assassin squad to go out and drag necromancers for getting too out of hand. Reapers aren't jokes, from what I've heard, mind you that's all hearsay as I've never encountered one of them. No reason to, after all. [What a bunch of shit, but if she's nothing else, she's good at twisting her stories and words.]
Video
The Orb of Death called him the Great King of Death and wanted to be by his side.
He made a friend for me to train with, that he did.
[ She used to sleep with her tail curled around Death Knight-kun.]
Video
Well.
That's a new record of the weirdest thing she's seen in her time.]
Orb of Death? Great King of Death? I take it this is something specific to your world as I've never heard of something like that before. Last I had heard on my end, the Raven Queen was the one in charge of all that death and afterlife... mess.
Video
It is an intelligent item. Master had me keep it in my cheek pouch, but it did not follow me to this new world.
Master is Ainz Ooal Gown. He isn't in charge of the Afterlife. He rules Nazarick.
I am unfamiliar with this Raven Queen, that I am.
video;
Why would anyone want to raise the dead?
video;
Necromancers do more than that, darling. But it could be a relative that died for some reason or another and it wasn't just and they want to find out the cause for it to help others or catch their murderer. Things like that. They rarely stay alive that way, though, from what I've read and heard so it's just short periods of time.
video;
I mean, I suppose it would be helpful, in some cases, to be able to speak to a dead person after the fact. I suppose I just think the ones who are gone should be left there.
[ As much as she'd want some of them back. ]
video;
Also? Some of us who do utilize the deceased to fight for us were born with this ability and use it to protect others. But no, no one ever talks about that. They'd rather stick to their ignorant notions they got from a singular personal experience or a poorly made movie.
[ Weiss is 1000% done with all the assholes who keep talking bad about raising the dead as if people who do it are all clearly evil criminals thanks. ]
video, private
Believe me, darling, I understand that perfectly. Despite my post, I do have a knowledge and training in necromancy in particular and it's... infuriating to say the very least that that's the one thing everyone continually comes back to time and time again. I'll be the first to say I have raised an undead once or twice but it was in an effort to understand the way they had died or to find who had killed them previously, hardly for the purposes of some sort of ridiculous army. That and even if one tried to do that, skeletons and zombies or just recently deceased are hardly the best things to use for an infantry in the first place as they tend to be rather fragile and rarely come back with their intelligence and mind intact as they were when they were alive.
Even then, those that would try generally met the fate of the Raven Queen's reapers, not something anyone willingly wants to encounter.
[She's humming to herself for a moment, well.]
Though this post served its purpose well enough, I'd heard murmurings about how the school was treated here and this just... further proves my suspicions on the matter. How depressing that it's been turned around into something only awful people attempt and are only after creating an undead army...
video, private
[ She knows a couple of people who have at least come around on it, but still. ]
There are plenty of positive purposes for it and as long as you aren't causing suffering, I think things like what you've done to understand things for the purpose of bringing justice is rather noble.
Video
Where I'm from, there aren't strongly delineated schools of magic. I've met several people you might consider necromancers, but none of them would call themselves that. There are humans, undead, and monsters who can speak to and raise the dead, and monsters tend to be more powerful, but there's not much difference other than that.
Most humans don't believe that magic exists, so that keeps there from being much stigma, though self-proclaimed mediums are more accepted than the idea of making ghouls or zombies. Among monsters and the undead, no one really cares.
