Who: Sarah Jane, OTA
What: Open Log and Catch all for April
Where: Genessia City
Warnings: None as yet.
i. Moonbucks
Sarah had found herself rather addicted to the coffee here. Mostly because the baristas had managed to make a wonderful concoction for her that she could not get anywhere else. Hazelnut, Earl Grey and Columbian roast. Oh it left her shaking and hyper but she loved it. It was especially useful on days such as today. When she found herself needing to get work done but had absolutely no desire to actually be at the newspaper office. She's seated near the window, drink in hand and several notebooks opened around her.
ii. Holly Ridge Apartment Room 301(closed to CR)
The city was different from London, different from many of the cities she'd see in various parts of time and space. So it was often she found herself staring out the windows, simply taking it all in. 'Travel broadens the mind'. She'd told him that before stepping out of the ship for the last time. It had been a while since'd arrived in the city but still, the site of so many of those familiar blue boxes left her stomach in an odd twist of nostalgia, sadness and hope.
It wasn't like her at all to stand about thinking it all over, but sometimes it was rather hard. With all the familiar eyes and smiles in far too unfamiliar faces, it made everything feel so finite. and she did wonder about her place in the future. But she didn't wish to ask, she was far more willing to live it out on her own.
iii. Garden Park
"Oh really? You'd think I was back in London at this rate!" Sarah gave a rather annoyed groan and pulled her jacket over her hair. Hadn't she been speaking with the Weather editor just the other day about the weeks weather? Yet here she was! Out at the park for a few fact checks without a proper rain jacket or umbrella. She could even hear the Brigadier's amused voice in her head, talking about being prepared for all manner of bad luck. "And I bet you'd just be having the best laugh off this wouldn't you." She shivered and took what little shelter she could under and awning.

She flicked on the light to kitchen, automatically glancing at the living room to see if he was asleep or not. It was always hit or miss from what she remembered, "I'm making a midnight snack. Want something proper to eat or should I just hand you the ice cream carton?"
no subject
He was not sleeping, he'll have you know. He was merely solving complex algorithms with his eyes closed and with the aid of faintly electronic sheep that baa'd binary at him.
no subject
But she does chuckle a bit, shaking her head and moving towards the kitchen. She does try to not bang the cabinets too hard but she makes sure there is enough tea for two once it starts to boil.
Because she is also warming up a few scones she'd bought on the way home from work. Best Timelord alarm clock she's ever found. The smell of butter melting over a warm scone.
no subject
"Bout time you're awake. Been waiting ages." He yawns again and flops to sit at the table, smelling the air appreciatively. "Breakfast?"
no subject
She smiled and set the tea cups and scones down. Her stomach grumbled and she sighed, "Old habits. You want preserves or not?" Even as she was already pulling out the jar and setting it on the table.
no subject
"Do you know I still haven't quite discovered why we're here at all."
no subject
"I think it's just for stability but no matter who I ask, I can't get a straight answer."
She notes the ring, raising a curious eyebrow, "Oh, where'd you get that?"
no subject
"Oh no answers are straight. Some of them are quite curvy. You have to learn to see round the bend..." But this is murmured as he looks at the ring on his finger, twists it back and forth. Takes it off and puts it back on again.
"I don't know. I think it's rather important. But how I can't quite recall."
He looks up at her, seeming somewhat distant.
no subject
She reached across the table to take his hand if he lets her, turning it over and looking at the ring. It was familiar in a way that made her stomach tighten. It looked wrong on his hand despite how it had looked on another's. Those thought coupled with what she'd learned about everything going on made her swallow heavily and drop his hand.
"Suppose you'll remember eventually. You always do, don't you?"
no subject
"Usually." He grins. Then his grin fades and he looks at the ring on his finger once more, twisting it absently. Abruptly he stands, moving round to stand behind her and put a gentle hand over her eyes.
"Well, we had fun, didn't we, Sarah Jane? It wasn't always the best of times, but, you know-- it was hardly the worst either."
He rests his chin on her head and closes his eyes.
"I'm afraid... I'm going to go a bit Scottish in a moment-- as dreadful a thought as that is."
no subject
"Never the worst. Do it-do it all again in a heartbeat." She laughs then, for his sake as much as for hers, and she pulls his hand away and stands to join him. Her eyes are watery but she is smiling, her voice catching and trembling a bit.
"Look here you. I said I'd never forget you, and I haven't. Never will," She tightened her hold on his hand, "But don't you dare think I'll let you go like that. You're my best friend, Doctor, no matter what's up top."
Sarah laid their joined hands on his chest, teary grin beaming up at him, "Because what's in here? That thing you always told us that matter most? That's still the same. Oh a bit more wrinkled and a bit faded in parts. But it's still there."
With a soft sob she reaches up to tug his forehead down to hers, not even trying to keep the tear at bay now, "Velvet capes, curls, or rock idol. You'll always be my Doctor. So don't forget me, hmm?"
no subject
"And you'll always be my Sarah Jane, no matter what eyes I'm looking out of." But he's not quite the man he was anymore. "Thanks for looking out for me. Couldn't have done it without you." He smiles at her, wiping a tear away with a thumb. "So many times I would have died were it not for my Sarah."
no subject
Two hearts beating and then a kiss that makes her look up.
"Hmm, I'm not done yet." There were so many moment flashing through her memory now. Moments that were so much closer to her than him in regards to that twisty strip called 'time'. And she presses her face against him once again, catching the last linger scent of ginger before apple blossoms take its place.
She hums softly and looks back up at him, wiping her own tears away now, "Hello, Doctor. Fancy seeing you here."
no subject
Aside from that... when she's done he raises her hands and kisses her fingers in a friendly gesture before holding her hands in his, running his thumbs back and forth over her fingers.
"Always a pleasure, Sarah Jane. I love what you've done with the place, by the way." He tries to think of something clever to say beyond that but perhaps the silence is enough for right now.
no subject
She missed her Doctors so very much. But, she'd gotten to say good bye this time, in a way. Watched him shift from chaos to charm. And...it did hurt, she couldn't take that away from herself not hide it from him.
But somethings were worth the pain and getting to have him as her friend again? Worth it. She could let go of scarves and capes easily. Because, they were all still there.
Wrapped up in sunglass, bushy eyebrows and far too much rockabilly charm. "Oh, Doctor." She hugged him tightly before pulling away and wiping her eyes dry.
"We've still tea to finish, but I need to learn if you've still a fondness for jams."
no subject
"Well I must considering I get in them so often." He sits back at the table. "Jam me."

Rose herself looked to be straight out of Singing in the Rain, way too cheerful and happy to be wet, and possibly even dancing in puddles. Hey, beats Snarling Wolf and drowned dog any day.
Re: 3
Sarah gives Rose a look over before shaking her head in amusement, "suppose you're not too bothered by sudden rainstorms and not a slicker in sight?"
Re: 3
Rose, on the other hand, seemed to be in fairly good humor. "I'd be happy in a sudden Venusian oncoming storm. Love storms, me." Yeeeah, that metaphorical irony was not lost on her. "Storms make everything a sudden adventure, whoosh!" She purposely jumped and splashed in the the gutter. "Storms are the best! You never know what will happen in one." Even when your best friend decided it was a good time to short his brains out and get trapped in a pocket void on fire.
Re: 3
"You go on then and take the storm. I'll just let it pass over and enjoy it while I can. No sense chasing after it." She giggled, "And it seems you have more fun with the aftermath anyways." Puddles everywhere, she needed to get hold of a good pair of rain boots.
Re: 3
"Nah," Rose stuck her tongue out the side, "The electric build-up is the best part! When the air is just crackling, about to break," she shivered in excitement. "Better than sex, that. Well, almost."
Re: 3
"Not really used to English weather anymore." Still squinting up at the sky and trying to get her hair flat.
"Make a run for it is starting to sound wonderful, unless I

Re: 3
Sex wasn't something taboo or shameful. Sarah prided herself on being a "modern" woman and really, what could she say about heat of the moment choices?
"Unless you want to keep blushing like you are."
[i] fell down on the job last time, sorry
"It seems we meet again." The little vampire greets her cordially.
Re: [i] No problem!
She held up the nearly empty cup, "Not many can appreciate a good cup of coffee."
no subject
"And yes, the French love tea... Not as much as the English do, but we do."
no subject
Sarah gestures to the empty seat, "Go on, I'm not expecting anyone and company is always preferred."
no subject
"Truly? You're missing out. Though I do enjoy modern Paris, I'll always remember as it was in the early 16th century. You should visit the moment you get the chance to."
no subject
Sixteenth century Paris did sound lovely, though she'd probably have to ask the Doctor to take her to the fifteenth. Just so they could end up in the right time!

"Bye thank you!" she called to the baristas, and was about to leave when she spotted a young woman sitting near the window. Recognition dawned on her and she walked over to the other woman.
"Excuse me, you're the pretty and kind lady that hangs out with the Professor, right? I'm his niece, well not really, but I'm Mimi!"
Re: i 8D
Sarah nodded and held out her hand, "Sarah Jane Smith and thank you for the compliments. I hope you don't mind my asking but, how did you meet *giggle* the Professor?"
1; before Martha's disappearance
"Sarah!" Ten gives her a big smile and finds a seat across from her and swings a hand and grabs one of her notebooks;
"What's going on?"
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
"Bit of work and my usual fix!" She holds up the coffee proudly before laughing, "I think I've become addicted though. Shame. I know they won't have this in England. What about you?"
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
"What have you found?"
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
"Loads of things." She spread the papers out and gave a short, derisive snort, "You should ask me what have I found that's important."
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
Sarah still had no idea what to call The Doctor's various versions when she was talking to his other versions. Quite a headache, as fun as it ultimately was.
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
Yeah. Maybe.
What do you make of what you do know?
Re: 1; before Martha's disappearance
[She pouts now because, that's where she's at.]
I need to get to it, start digging back through files before I can talk to people.
[Maybe find out who has been here the longest.]
