First Calling : [Action]
[Azure admits that waking up from the cocoon was probably one of the hardest things for her to do. In fact she laid in there longer than she would ever admit, recounting what had happened to her before she woke up. None of it was pleasant...In fact, she would have sworn this was a trick. But because all this information and sights were so out there that she seemed satisfied that she was definitely not in her world.
She didn't know how she felt about that in all honesty.
One one hand, it was like chains that had bound her to what she assumed was her destiny were no longer there. On the other hand, what happened to the kingdom she was trying to protect and save?
The swords-woman accounted all of her equipment, noticing her sword was definitely on her as well as other hidden weapons. She stared at the pamphlet, reading it other several times before putting on the necklaces to hide them under her dress collar. Staring at the device that was given to her, she flipped it open to gaze at the screen. While there were instructions, she couldn't help but wonder if there were enemies around and didn't want to unnecessarily alert those of her presence. Azure didn't know what to account for in this world and nothing seemed short of a possibility. So she put the device away and pulled her cloak close and hood over her head before looking around the city. She could only go so far before taking a seat to take in exactly what she was seeing which seemed so foreign to what she was use to. Where were those of supernatural origins? There were so many people and they looked healthy and a lot of them seemed..happy? She was wondering if she should find a quite corner instead to get herself more together.]

Though, his attention is caught by the sight of a familiar figure slogging through the bay.]
...Miss Rosentine?
[While he decides to wait until she's closer to confirm, though he knows already, he blinks despite himself at the sight of her, people-watching. This would make someone happy, probably. Instead though, he gets up and moves closer.]
A moment of your time, if you please.

Dr.Caine?
[Things seemed to get weirder and weirder, what is the coincidence of him being here of all places? She was starting to wonder if she were experiencing some sort of fever dream. Reaching up, she pushed her hood back so that he could get a good look at her face if there were confused as to who she was.]
Of course, what is it you need?
no subject
[As he speaks, he inclines his head as she removes her hood, cutting a bow for her.]
What brings you to this small corner of the universe?
[His tone is casual, as if it's perfectly natural to be whisked away at the drop of a hat, no matter the peril one is in.]
no subject
You act as if I had a choice in the matter.
[Though compared to where she was before, this place was preferred one hundred times more. Just thinking about it sent a shiver of displeasure down her spine.]
How long have you been here?
no subject
[He crossed his arms in thought. There was a small gap...but he did not count it as he was traditionally prone to leave a place temporarily. This was just one of the few cases he returned. Grinning now, he offered a hand.]
Well, you won't catch the fancy of anyone like that, let's get you some dry clothes; they did leave you money, yes?
no subject
[When he offered her a hand, she stared at it for a moment before taking it carefully. He had always been the tricky sort, though he never seemed to mean ill will towards her. Hearing his words, she may have paled slightly, turning her head away.]
I don't think I'd like that kind of attention here. Not for a long time at least unless it's someone I know. As for money, yes I have some.

[He trailed of as if he knew something clever, that he also planned to keep to himself.]
Regardless, it will not do to let you run around soaking wet, plus we'll need to look for a job for you. While they did give you a nice sum to start with, that will quickly go with renting, food, travel, leisure, etc...
[Putting on airs, he decided to abruptly throw information at her to goad her into forgetting about obligations from home and busy her with new tasks here. While it was mostly altruistic; he had an ulterior and petty motive for this as well. One that might see him in great trouble if he's discovered, but he fully expected Fate to function in it's proper form no matter the place.]

[A promise to herself above all else really. She had made the exception and let two people get close to her...A lich and a vampire were hardly human like she was and planned to stay though. The other reason, she'd keep to herself for the time being.]
Dry clothing would be nice. Though what kind of jobs are offered here? It would be odd not to be tasked with something that doesn't involve my sword or use of magic...What do you do here?
[He was doing a good job of helping her open up a little. She was feeling far more at ease knowing he was here and showing her the ropes.]

[He shouted with a chuckle as he walked along for a clothing store he knew would be a few blocks down. While he did know part of her reasoning; he still questioned it, but also theorized that if one only had a short time, perhaps loneliness was fine. At her question, he turned back, resting a hand on his chest.]
Myself? I'm a Doctor at Genessia General Hospital, and I work for the Genessia Scientific Research Foundation. Part of our work is to try to determine a way home. As for what you would do here? Anything. I've seen gardeners, computer technicians, magicians, professors, scholars, bounty hunters, security...

Please don't raise your voice right now.
[She was still feeling shell-shocked from all of this and raised voices grated on her especially. Hearing that he was a doctor here as well as a researcher left her feeling impressed. He seemed to carve out a nice hole for himself here.]
I see. I may have to rely on my strengths before trying something new. Where can one see jobs available and does one have to prove qualifications?
no subject
[Part of it might also be to remind her to actually listen to her heart for once, ultimately a moot point given the game he intended to play here, but likely effective nonetheless. Though her reliance on routine was hardly surprising; many opted to do the same things out of habit and comfort. Who was he to say otherwise?]
We have an employment center, and you've been signed up for the paper, so there are listing. Some have open-employment that works with the center, and some do wish to conduct traditional interviews, so yo-- Ah, if you don't follow me, please inform. I admit my time in Winter was short, so I'm not as aware of your customs as I could me...though I suppose they're rather like--Parts of the world.
[In his rambling, he had almost ruined the game early on.]

[ She frowned softly after that. The plight of her people was hardly something she could forget about. After a bit more walking she pointed to a storefront of clothes that seemed to cater to women. ]
Is this where we are headed?
[ She gave it a critical look, everything looked normal in the window. She was expecting him to attempt to dress her in more flashy or revealing clothing. ]
no subject
[Which made things more interesting to him, but that was a tangent he could avoid going on with her; she didn't care about such things, or at least had not in their home. Turning to affirm such, he paused, noting she seemed suspicious, and he looked to the clothing in the window, wondering what the problem was.
Yes, he had things that he liked, but forcing others to that seemed futile.]
Yes~ We are, right this way, Miss Rosentine.
no subject
Dr. Caine, how much fighting do you believe I'll be doing here?
[ If it were a lot, she'd pick out clothes that were easy to move around in. If not...well she's always desired to dress cute...Her profession just didn't allow for it. ]
no subject
As much...or as little as it pleases you, Miss Rosentine. There are criminals, but many prefer to relax and enjoy a quieter existence. What will you choose?
no subject
You know what I plan to do.
no subject
I do, and as it is just you and I; I'm going to say you're foolish.
no subject
And just why do you feel that way, Dr. Caine?
no subject
[He trains his eye on her now to study her. Something was different here, despite being the same.]
Why toil yourself to death here? Is this not the first-- nay, only time you may relax? Miss Rosentine, I am not asking you to stand idly by; that's complete contradiction to your character. Instead I am ask you to take time for the small moments. You deserve them, at the very least.
no subject
I appreciate you looking out for me Dr. Caine, but why would you think that I wouldn't be taking time for myself? I have a month to find employment and housing, so I could take at least a week to recuperate. I just figured that a job using my sword and/or magic would be best, and spending money frivolously just won't do unless I buy with purpose, so clothing that's easy to move in.
...You know?
no subject
Housing...if you wish, I've room in my apartment; all you need to do is contribute to the rent.
no subject
Are you sure? I wouldn't want to encroach on you.
[ She didn't care either way, but she wanted to make sure he was truly sure before taking up any sort of offer. ]
no subject
Encroach? It's just me and my books. Plus the view of Nova City is stunning~
no subject
I'll consider it, thank you for your offer. I suppose we'll hammer out details of what's expected of me after I purchase clothes?
no subject
That's fine, Miss Rosentine; I hope to see some varied styles while we're here~
