[today is a very special day! and battler will cut right to the chase.]

You know, it's so weird.... I've seen my birthdays come and go plenty, but this one just feels so strange to me-! Why? Well, when I say come and go.... ihihi.... I mean literally. I've watched my past two birthdays fly by, and I still remained the same age. I was caught in a place where time didn't move, it didn't even matter! I only knew it was my birthday from the place that was sort of similar to this one from before.

So... I know it's October back in my own world, it has to be! I wonder.... the date says it's my birthday, but... aahh it's all useless! I guess I can embrace this, yeah in fact I'll take it head on!

Ihihihi~! It's my birthday today! I'm turning 19 everyone! Line up, don't be shy, I'll be accepting both gifts and birthday wishes!

[ Okay, she was just grumbly because she really was doing this all for him and that wasn't something she did a lot. For anyone, really. Just Battler. ]

[and battler goes to take a seat! he's humming to himself as he waits for his present.]

[ Yuri goes to fetch the present, which is wrapped up with the oddest wrapping paper she could find in the shape of a small box. When she comes back, she ignores the rest of the sitting space in favor of sitting on Battler's lap. ]

Here, and you better not complain about it.

[ When he opens it up, he will find a smart pen. ]

but oh well, it's a gift from yuri so of course he's going to enjoy it oh so much! battler smiles at her, especially when she's on his lap. he takes the gift, unwrapping it slowly and he looks down at the pen.]

Whoa.... [a smart... pen...?] ...wow, it looks really interesting! What's it do exactly?

[he's an 80's kid, explain a thing to him.]

[ Yuri gives him a little kiss on the cheek before she answers. ]

When you write with it, the pen translates it into digital format. Which means that when you write, you can upload it to a computer. I know you like to write by hand more than type, so I thought this way, you can write in the way that's most natural to you and it'll still be ready for when you want to edit and publish.

[even though yuri was still sitting in his lap, he practically jumped in his seat. he had an arm around her waist so she wouldn't fall off of him, and he just grinned sheepishly.]

Ehehe... s-sorry! It's just... man, this is amazing, I love this gift so much!

[ Yuri reflexively put a hand on his shoulder when he started jumping to steady herself, even if he had a good grip on her. She couldn't contain a smile with how happy he was though. ]

[he leaned over to her and kissed her on the cheek for good measure!]

[ She pecks him right back. She's going to be the last one to cheek smooch here, it's a fact. ]

I don't know how I'm going to top it next year, but it's nice to actually be able to celebrate your birthday for once.

Right! And when yours rolls around, I'll definitely get you something good too..!

[he plans on the PERFECT GIFTS OKAY]

I'll take breakfast in bed and a massage if you don't have any ideas.

[ Mostly because he hasn't released his book so she's not even sure if he has any income.. ]

[ Yuri just slides onto the couch next to where he was sitting and crosses her legs and looks to the side. ]

..Also I think it's been at least 6 months since the last time, so I figure tonight after dinner if you don't have any plans, we can do you-know-what. Later.

[w...what what?! he turned to look at her, suddenly his face turning a bright red.]

Are you.... serious...? I-I mean... hey I'm not complaining! But you don't need to push yourself or anything or.... [welp.]

[ BATTLER DON'T YOU KNOW HER AT ALL ALREADY!? She's just going to tsun into oblivion if you don't just say yes and move on until later! ]

Hmm.... well then, we have something to look forward to afterwards! But first, it's food time!

I got you a cupcake, too, which you are free to eat right before so you taste like cupcake.

[ Yuri wants to know what a cupcake kiss tastes like, okay? Either way, she's getting up off the couch now and holding out her hand for him. ]
