[Action] Throughout the day of December 16th
OPEN
[If you happen to be out and about during the day, especially around the Attleton area, you might run into your friendly neighborhood wizard. If you're a very early riser or a night owl, you might catch his truck rolling through town loaded up with shovels, buckets and other gear long before the sun is showing its face.
Later, maybe you'll catch him in a diner having a big lunch or going to and from hardware stores and later on stopping for supper at the same diner. One thing's for sure, he's looking more and more disheveled as the day goes on and caked with dust, grime and muck. What on Earth could he be up to?]
CLOSED TO RUBY AND ROOMMATES
[Later in the day, after the sun's already started setting, Harry pulls up to Ruby's apartment building. He's looking pretty worn out, like he'd spent all day doing some serious manual labor, and he's a total mess. His clothes are all wet and there's mud caked on his heavy boots, jeans and flannel jacket.
He heads around the back and grabs a big bundle from the bed of his truck before heading inside and up to the apartment Ruby shared with her sister and after a second to pause, since he's not sure if Ruby's up to any door answering, knocks at it.]

no subject
[N-no! She'll shake her head and try to pull away when he ruffles her hair. Not that he's going to make it any messier than it already is.
Wait a second, is that a coin? Where did he even get that? Wait a second, where did it go?]
W-why are you asking me? you're the magic man.
[She's smiling Harry, you've done good.]
no subject
[He scratches the side of his head in pretty convincing befuddlement and then start patting his arms and chest, searching for the mysterious phantom coin.]
Where the heck did that thing go?
[He turns his head to look behind him and-- oh, there it is! Sitting on the back of his shirt collar.]
no subject
[She'll play Harry's game for now, she knows he's trying to cheer her up and well honestly, it's working. She'll go and pluck the coin off his shirt collar and hold it up to him.]
Looking for this?
no subject
[He turns his head, blinking at the coin right in front of his face and holds a hand out for it.]
Whoah, you're pretty good at this. Are you sure you're not a little magic yourself?
no subject
[That and her clumsy fingers.
She'll drop the coin into his hand and smile.]
Maybe just a teeny tiny bit, you never know.
no subject
Have you been holding out on me?
[He catches the coin and flips it across the backs of his knuckles
no subject
...At least she called him back?]
Me? No, never. Never ever.
[She'll keep an eye on the coin for now, in case he tries something with it again.]
no subject
Good. You never want to keep a secret from a wizard. We get all crabby.
[And try something he does, letting the coin settle on his thumb and flipping it... except it's not flipping through the air like it should be and has vanished back into the ether.]
no subject
[She blinks when the coin disappears again.]
Wh-hey! Where did it go?
no subject
[He grins at her question, clapping his empty hands together and holding them up, wiggling his fingers and raising his eyebrows.]
Who knows? It's magic.
[He WILL get a laugh from you, Ruby.]
no subject
The finger wiggling and cheesy line, that's enough to get a giggle out of her.
You win Harry, she giggled.]
And for your next trick?
no subject
His next trick, huh? Might as well add a little flourish to this next one, since the only real magic Ruby's seen so far has been the broom trick.
He leans back in the chair, closing one upturned fist and gestures for Ruby to stay where she is, just in case she gets it into her head to lean forward. Veeeery carefully he measures out a trickle of will and soulfire. Then he mutters a word under his breath, and opens his hand with a whoosh of blue-white flame. Not much, just enough to add a little spectacle to things.
And the coin is back in his open palm.]
Ta-da!
no subject
That's amazing!
[Ruby haven't you seen more impressive magic before? Oh well that's not what's important.]
