The Art of becoming a Hero (backdated to May 10th - Open to Fairy Haven's residents)
Who: Mavis Vermillion, Shota Aizawa and anyone who happens to be at Fairy Haven.
Where: Fairy Tail's headquarters (aka Fairy Haven) in Fayren.
When: Backdated to May 10th, end of the afternoon.
What: Shota comes to meet with Mavis further to this conversation to see what possible job he could be suited for in Fayren.
Warning: None for now. Will update if needed.
Mavis had come back to Fairy Haven after a long day of Guardian's duties, feeling tired but accomplished.
As she was waiting for her visitor, the Hero course teacher named Shota Aizawa, the young-looking guild master was sitting on a low wall by the entrance of the guild hall's main building, her small bare feet dangling gently in the air.
She was holding a rather big stemmed glass full of vanilla and strawberry icecream, with fresh strawberries and meringues on top that she was tasting with obvious delight. Sitting right next to her, a Pokémon was trying to steal some strawberry and cream with his trunk.
The little thief managed to remain unnoticed for quite a while until two green eyes finally fell on him and his cream-covered mouth. Mavis good-naturedly burst out laughing... and gave him a few more strawberries.
"All you needed was ask, you know."
The Pokémon managed a sheepish expression before he hastily swallowed the offered fruits.

But then, she stops to look at her boss.]
Hey, Mavis? Who's this guy we're waiting for again?
no subject
He looked around the establishment as he entered the halls, hands tucked in his pockets. He saw the young girl first and then her little pet before he saw that tall glass of ice cream.
"Excuse me." He politely said, getting the girl's attention. "I'm looking for Mavis Vermillion."
no subject
[She looks down at her ice cream and then at Tatlyn.] Do you want some?
no subject
"And I presume you're Shota Aizawa, correct?" She set the ice cream glass down on the low wall and stood up. "Thanks for coming. It is a pleasure to meet you." She bowed in greeting. "I take you didn't have too much trouble finding Fairy Haven?" It was quite the big landmark, after all.
no subject
Hero course? Sounds like something a Velikan adventurers guild would have.
[Ice cream does sound good. However, she has reservations. Being a wolf Elin. Dairy products might not settle well.]
Ah what the hell. I'll give it a try~

[She can always stick to the stawberries and meringue bits. Phanpy moves back reluctantly to share his with the healer.]
no subject
[Tatlyn felt bad taking the Phanpy's treats, so she took as little as possible.]
I mean, I have teeth, and I am prepred to die to protect my friends and home, but what good am I dead, you know? So I passed on playing hero.
no subject
He bowed as well to return the greeting. "Correct." He scratched the side of his head as he glanced around the entrance and hall, let his eyes wondered a bit. "It wasn't hard to find." Which was true.
"Thank you for inviting me." He looked back to her. "Mind if I ask, how old are you?" He was curious and he cuts to it.
no subject
She pondered this a moment. "So, let me think... I was 118 when I was brought here. And I've been here for 2 years and a half now." She looked at him, smiling. "120 years old. I'm a bit too old to count half years, don't you think?" She winked.
no subject
[Phanpy must have noticed Tatlyn's efforts, because he nudges her gently, trumpetting softly in thanhks.]
Tell me about your master, would you?
no subject
[Ah, her master. She was quite fond of that geezer. Buckle up, Mavis, this will be a long story.]
Well, first off... Shortly after making a home outside Velika, there was this little girl who got lost and found me. I helped her find her way back, but she kept coming back to play with me.
...She died. Wildlife got her. Elin don't always have the best reputation because of the borderline vicious things we do, so I was blamed for her death. When I first met him, he was a young human, a Velikan priest. He defended me and invited me to come live with him.
So I took him up on that offer. He trained me in the ways of priesthood. He went through a lot of trouble to build me a new home in Velika. Gave me a room in the church that resembled Pora Elinu. He made connections and ensured that everything I was blamed for was eventually "forgiven." I was made to feel like not as an elin or a little girl, but as an equal in the community, and in return, I was just asked to help out around. He didn't scold me when I messed up. He laughed at my stupid jokes. He was just nurturing and supportive.
[Her fluffy tail would occasionally flop as she told this story.]
It's hard to imagine it. I was probably living as his student and daughter-like companion for about... forty to sixty years. I don't even know. I just know he's gone now.
no subject
"120 years is fine." He raised a hand and agreed.
It was time to get down to business. "Anyway, my Quirk, Erasure, erases other Quriks. It cancels out powers from the user's for a brief moment." He gave a brief summery about it. "Question is, is it effective to 'magic' as well, I'm not sure."
no subject
[Mavis leans towards her and sets her hand on Tatlyn's shoulder if she'd let her.] I'm sorry you got unfairly blamed for the death of that little girl but I'm glad you were found by a good-hearted person who decided to help you.
Sixty years is a long time. You're lucky you got to spend all this time with him. But I'm sure you must miss him a lot. How long do people live in your world, in average?
no subject
Mavis blinked. A rat and an immortal being who looks like a child, not very different? Well he certainly was pretty open minded.
"So it neutralizes magic for a brief moment?" Interesting. And potentially very useful. "Mmm. It might depend of how powerful the magic source is, too. What about magic curses? Have you already tried 'erasing' those, even momentarily?"
no subject
Unfortunately. Some are luckier than others. Otherwise words like "veteran" and "hero" won't have as much meaning.
[The Elin mutters some thoughtful sounds.]
It depends on the race. Humans and elins like myself average about 80 years. Others, like the High Elves, live for way much more longer. And the Baraka, I think are immortal. Being statues and everything.
So in case you're wondering; Yes, I am old by human standards.
[And yet Tatlyn looks like a little girl. Elin are such adorably mysterious creatures.]
no subject
She winks.] Not by my standards. How old are you exactly, then?
no subject
Hell if I know. I already died and regenerated once already, so I should be over 80 years old.
...
[She slyly smiles at Mavis, checking her reaction. Yes, Tatlyn is dead serious.]
no subject
80 years old? That would make you younger than me. Then, I guess I can do this... [Mavis braces herself and, very gently, pets the Elin between the ears. She's just too cute.] I'm about 120 years old myself.
no subject
[Tatlyn giggles as Mavis begins to pet her around her fluffy ears.]
Awoo~
no subject
[Though, it probably wouldn't matter in Genessia - she wouldn't die for good - it can't be pleasant anyway.]
no subject
Yeah! It's hard to be cute without a head, you know?

If only Mavis saw his world, almost everyone possessed unique abilities. There were even some powers people possessed that made no sense but there it is. That and there were mutant types as well, they didn't look human. Everything one would imagine from fiction stories came to life. There were very rare people were born with no abilities at all.
"That is correct." Which made him more useful for stealth and group missions. He never had trouble with powerful Quirks, unless they get the best of him first. If the villain found out the intervals between his usage, then he be in trouble. It was a matter of when to activate it and how to utilize it. This was why Shota picked up hand to hand combats and has his long scarf for capture.
Magic curses, he scratched the back of his head thoughtfully. "Curses as magic being active over time? I'm not sure to be honest. From my world's perspective, probably 'yes' only because it can shut it off for a moment." Or when he chooses to, but he doesn't say it yet. He likes to see how much Mavis can pick up on this. "I can't 'erase' if they are mutant types, like I can't take away their tail, but if it emits some type of ability or 'magic', I can cancel that out at least. Tail thrashing, no."

Fortunately, much like Aizawa and Mavis, Mirajane wasn't the type who judged entirely on appearances. She came up to their table with a fresh Ice Cream sundae for Mavis and Phanphy and politely asked, "Is there anything else I can get you Master? Or perhaps anything for you sir? I serve food as well as ice cream and drinks."

Still, he was neither a Deputy nor a member of Fairy Tail; just the guy dating the Guardian and the guild's First Master. So, unless Mavis or the newcomer addresses him, he'll be content to simply close his book for now, and silently observe.
Magic erasure... Zeref's eyes narrowed. The ability to cancel out other forms of magic absolutely exists in their own world, though if it were that simple to get rid of the Curse of Contradictions, logically, that would have been the first thing Zeref would have tried. The Curse was of divine origin, and the God of Life and Death wanted him and Mavis to suffer. Nothing Zeref tried worked, to the point where he had been left with the conclusion that the means of canceling out the Curse was something that was beyond the realm of possibility for humans.
Until Mirajane told him what finally worked, of course. The answer had been so simple, all of this time. Zeref shakes his head, forcing the thought from his head. This was neither the time nor the place. He takes another sip of the coffee and listens in silence.

Even for shady scruffy looking guy, Aizawa did noticed them. If either of the two felt they were being watched, even for a brief moment, it was probably because of him, even if Aizawa was lax. Force of habit really, especially when his eyes activate his Quirk. For now, he rest easy and acknowledge them. He didn't have anything to say to Zeref, yet, Mirajane though...
When Mirajane offered him food and beverage, well, who couldn't say no to that? Aizawa nodded, "thank you miss. I'll have a large cold beer, pork gyoza (dumpling), teriyaki chicken with fried rice.. hm... shrimp tempura, some rice and... do you serve sushi as well?" He probably should have asked for the menu first.

"R-Right... so... beer, gyoza... pork gyoza rather, chicken teriyaki, fried rice... did you want the teriyaki chicken in the fried rice? Let's see... I'll check if we still have shrimp, and did you want white rice as well? I think my knife skills are up to the task of sushi, or even blowfish shashimi if you really wanted." She hoped not because she's fairly certain they don't have it in stock, and the amount of skill required on top of everything else is downright exhausting.
