[Wow, look at this girl with pink twintails on screen, she's beaming with joy and excitement about ... Everything, probably.]

Ah, hello hello~! My name is Madoka Kaname, but everyone can call me Madoka starting right now and this [stepping off of the screen herself to show a black haired girl.] is one of my best friends...

[Now when Madoka is hiding behind the device, she is encouraging Homura to speak by making cute gestures off-screen! Smiling! Looking sheepish because she has no idea what to do either! But she's silently whispering her to "say something, anything, just your name is fine too!" and whatever her thumbs up and some cheering gestures are for ... probably 'you can do it / you'll be great, Homura-chan!'. She believes in her cool girl introduction skills!! Should she apologize later for suddenly putting her up for it when Madoka could have also introduced them both? Maybe.]

[For Homura's part, she hadn't expected to be so suddenly put on the spot like this. She hadn't much to say, either, but watching Madoka's gentle encouragements does cause her cheeks to flush in a radient hue. Did... she really just call her 'cool?' Oh no, she had to say something now.

But once she's able to collect herself, she opts merely to simply bow her head politely towards the screen, in spite of her aloofness, feeling she would upset Madoka if she were not to make any attempt to reach out to their audience-- if nothing else, and speaks out clearly and directly to the camera.]

Good day, my name is Homura Akemi. I'm pleased to meet you all.

[Perhaps it's not what she wanted to say, but there's no reason to be rude.]

[Madoka looks surprised at her reaction. Huh, she's really not expecting the change of color on Homura's face at all. Did she say something weird...? Madoka's blushing and smiling too but that's normal for her. She grins at Homura's lines with a giggle and switches the thing to showing her too agan.]

Also we're looking for Sayaka Miki, Kyoko Sakura and Mami Tomoe so if they happen to be here, we'd really love to know!

Umm, we just got here and we haven't really done a network post like this before. So I have no idea what this is supposed to include and all of this is kind of lot to take in at first but that's fine! We haven't really thought about jobs yet, so that can come later once we go through that colossal list... but I'm getting the feeling that it will be hard to choose from all them. [What is she even good at doing? That's something to think about in a way that it fits employment here.]

What are your favorite places to eat here? What about some delicious places for cakes? Oh, we got keys to an apartment at El Galeón! So if there are any neighbors and they happen to see this, I hope we'll get along! That goes for everyone else too, it's nice to meet you all!

I -- I guess you can ask us anything? I'm really not sure what to say here but this seemed like a good way to say that we're here now for anyone, who doesn't happen to run into us.

ACTION; around Genessia and Fayren

[Madoka keeps holding Homura's hand gently but tightly with her own. Even if she wouldn't go away this time, it's still the her current favorite way to make sure that neither of them goes anywhere alone now. Sometimes she tries to look at a map but it's more fun without it!

Walking around here and there to get to know this new place though they are only focusing on those two cities today.

And then there's shopping for their new apartment. Sailor themed bed sheets need to go as soon as they find some cute ones like rainbows! Madoka stares at all the things in kitchen departments in surprise. Come to think of it...]

Do you know how to cook? [That's technically a question to Homura but anyone can answer.]

[Not that Madoka wants to spend too much money too soon but a basic change of clothes would be great, so they can be found in clothing stores too. And food sounds like a great idea, too bad trying to find a place to eat takes time when there are so many places to choose from!]

How about this one? [Girly clothes! Or some place for eating.]

[OOC: Replies may come from both Madoka and Homura!]

(She isn't looking her best. A few dragon hatchlings wander around her feet, but she can only give them a weak smile.)

My brother...isn't here any longer. (Some of his armor is beside her, cracked from the blow that had taken his life. She runs her fingers over the breaks, closing her eyes.) My classes will be postponed until next week.

[Mavis claps her hands and looks very serious and proud in her... pirate girl outfit..] One of the eggs I found finally hatched. And it is...

[She turns the camera to show her left shoulder and reveals... a colorful and mischievous looking parakeet.] Say something to our audience, Captain Featherly.

[The bird stays perfectly silent. Mavis sighs and as soon as the camera is off the parakeet, Mavis' voice can be heard again.] Why do I bother? It's not like I actually care about what any of you thinks anyway. I'm just bored because Zeref is busy with his stupid lizard. [Mavis frowns and blushes. Though, obviously, since she's on screen and her lips are NOT moving, it's not really her who said the last three sentences.

Mavis pinches the bridge of her nose, massaging it.
] I should have named you 'Captain Annoying'. Or tied a scarf around your beak to gag you. Or both.

..Sorry about that, everyone.
[The feed ends.]

I'd like to pose a hypothetical question to all of you, if I may. { Zeref is seated somewhere in Fairy Haven, an open book in his lap. He nonchalantly turns a page, and continues. } Suppose a country in your world was ruled by a powerful, immortal wizard. There would be no need for a designated heir, right? Even if one were produced, it would be a meaningless title, as nobody expected the ruler to die. The citizens don't mind; they're happy, the country is prosperous, and they, in fact, love their ruler and think of them as a hero.

But suppose there were no heirs. The ruler never intended for the country to outlive their immortality, or perhaps just didn't care if it did or not. What do you think would become of that country or its citizens?

{ It's... something he's been thinking about more and more lately, having lived in Fayren for as long as he has. }

[Gellert exhales a long stream of smoke from a pipe, his mismatched eyes looking beyond the gloom surrounding him. A picture will be quite clear for anyone watching, built from smoke and magic, showing a much younger Albus clasping hands with him. Then the image starts to fade, drifting away like the aforementioned smoke - only to be replaced by Gellert stealing the Elder Wand from Gregorovitch. Except that latter vision is...strange. There is another voice that can be heard, oh so briefly, demanding something of him.

"Tell me, Grindelwald. Tell me where it is."]

I wonder who that could be? [He waves a hand and the images disappear.] The magic in this place heightens my visions. I have seen...so many things. I don't know what to make of half of them.

I thought I would share. [You know, for the Greater Good.]

[Mavis is sitting in a tree, she's bundled up in a warm fuzzy pink coat that may or may not have been a Christmas present from her boyfriend, her legs swinging in the air.]

Just a reminder everyone! The polls are open! [She might not be running for Guardian this time but she's still taking her civic duty very seriously.] Time to choose your Guardian again. I know, and you do too if you've followed the debates, that Fayren has two excellent candidates. I happen to know Qubine better because he's been my Deputy for three turns and has been doing an excellent job!

...But I know voting is based on personal convictions, so I shall not try to influence you. [She winked.] Just do this for me, go vote!

[A pause.] Also, the party was nice... But the Guild Hall's main room is not going to clean itself and you shouldn't expect Mira to do all the work. [This last part is obviously addressed to Fairy Haven's residents.]

Anyway, I hope you all had a great Christmas or whatever equivalent of it you celebrate in your homeworld. And if someone can help me find mistletoe, I'd appreciate!

Action:

[During the day on the 17th, there would be multiple sightings of a decidedly under-dressed-for-the-weather kid getting into scraps with snow monsters.

...which in this case means punching them or headbutting them or biting them or exploding in huge fire tornadoes, and not really seeming any the worse for wear, so much as increasingly annoyed, aside from the occasional bout of tiny evil cackling after destroying his enemies. Don't mind him, he's just assuming that's how this world is going to be all the time. It seems only natural, after all.

At least, until someone grabs his attention.
]

Network:

[Not one to ask for help or admit to needing it, it doesn't even really occur to him to use the network until that evening, and frankly he's annoyed at having to rely on a piece of obviously human-style technology, anyway.]

This is how humans talk to each other? You'd look tiny on this. I'd look tiny on this!

[Judging by his background he's probably pretty small to begin with, but whatever.]

Whatever. This is King Laharl, Overlord of the Netherworld speaking. However the hell I got here, I'm going to need vassals. As long as you don't screw up, you'll be treated well: you get to start out at 1% of all the plunder you can get your hands on, and I probably won't need much cannon fodder, around here. You can start lining up right away.

[Action - locked to Mirajane]

[Erza wakes up in the exact same spot that she fell asleep - in her bed, with her arms wrapped around Mirajane as they held each other tightly. Last night had been better than anything described in Erza's extensive collection of romance novels - Erza had been hoping to save their first time for a special occasion, their one year anniversary as a couple, and it certainly paid off. While she'd likely be wearing sweaters for the next few days, and she'd definitely need a new bed (unsurprisingly, putting two of Fairy Tail's strongest mages in one room is going to result in something getting broken), it was more than worth it.

Not wanting to wake her girlfriend, Erza manages to untangle her limbs from Mirajane's body. Getting out of bed, she exquips into a bathrobe and heads out to the small kitchen in her apartment. It's not much - only really good for cooking simple meals - but Erza wants Mirajane to wake up to breakfast. She figures that Mira looks after the guild's meals, so it's time for someone to wait on her for a change.]

[The video feed shows Erza and Mirajane sitting at a table and enjoying their breakfast. Mirajane's bright and chipper as always, while Erza's trying to be serious about this. (though she's not as serious as usual, given Mira's presence)]

((OoC: Erza's comments are in red, while Mirajane's are in silver))

With these snow monsters roaming the cities, we want everyone to stay safe out there.

You know, it might be tempting to have a snowball fight with them, but there's no telling what they're capable of. So please make sure to buddy up out there.

If you know anyone who can use fire-related abilities, stick with them - obviously, fire works well against these creatures.

Or you can always come to Fairy Haven if you're in Fayren!

If you don't have the option of defending yourself, try to stay as warm as possible. Maybe gather with your friends or family near a roaring fire.

This time of year is great for cuddling up with some hot cocoa!

Maybe with some marshmallows, or cream?

Hmm... I wonder where I can get some cream?

[Erza blushes a little at that remark, but Mira had brought up a good point earlier.] Though you're right - this is a good time of year to cuddle up by the fireplace.

Ooh! Maybe we could bake some Christmas cookies!

[Erza lights up at the mention of sweets.] With lots of icing?

[Mirajane giggles, expecting a response like that, before leaning over to kiss Erza on the cheek.] Of course.

[Before the two of them get lost in their own little world, Erza realizes that they're still recording and cuts the video feed.]

A. Video [OTA]

So, if anyone's interested, Fairy Tail is looking for a new resident healer. If you want to apply for the job, just contact me!

[She's smiling but it does not quite reach her eyes.]

And for those who knew her, Tatlyn is gone... She's been gone for a little while actually.

Like Cassian and Kay.

[Come to think about it it was pretty much at the same time... She frowns and reaches for a notebook. The feed ends.]

B. Accidental video [OTA] and Action [Open to all the employees of Scribes and Scripts (in Fayren) and to Atreus]

[Mavis is standing on a stepladder in the bookstore's main shop window putting down the Thanksgiving decorations and putting up Christmas decorations instead. As a shop owner, she doesn't have to do that, she just happens to like it.

She also put Christmas themed books on display.

At some point, she looks above her shoulder.
] What do you think, Zeref? I'd say the light string with the snowflakes looks better than the one with the snowmen. Or should I put both? Oh... And I'm sure Hana will like the red and green tinsel... It has little candy canes on it.

[She sounds and looks accomplished.]

I can't wait until we start decorating the Christmas tree in Fairy Haven!

[While Genessia has more than its share of benevolent dragons, leave it to Gellert to find a truly vicious one. The crack of what sounds like a whip accompanies the bellowing roars of the beast well. Gellert might look like a hero, silhouetted as he is by the dragon's flame, and he certainly seems unfazed by all the fuss.

But then he laughs and the sound is unnerving.]

Now, now, is that necessary? I just need a little blood. You won't miss a vial or two.

Cut for Dragon Violence... )

Wasn't that exciting? [With his feet on the ground, he ducks into the cave and brings out the spoils of his battle.] It is so very hard to acquire dragon blood.

[There follows an audible thump and he looks up.]

Poor thing. They want to bury me in here, is that it?

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade
Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you
Masquerade! Every face a different shade
Masquerade! Look around, there's another mask behind you

Welcome
Though the evening outside is chilly, there’s nothing but warmth and lively atmosphere inside. The room itself (the ballroom atop the self proclaimed ‘most romantic and luxurious’ Genessian getaway) is almost blinding, glittering with gold from floor to ceiling, save for the towering framed windows that provide a beautiful sight of the city below. Tables are scattered here and there around the perimeter should attendees wish to rest their feet, but the centerpiece of the evening seems to be the massive, sparkling chandelier casting its warm, golden glow over a rather extensive dance floor. One end of the room is reserved for the band, poised just near the hearth featuring a roaring fire, while the other showcases a grand staircase on which one may make their entrance, should they choose to explore the upper lofts that surround the room beforehand.

Early in the evening, once the room has begun to fill, a couple steps up to welcome everyone on behalf of Genessia’s Performing Arts Center and the cast of their most recent musical. While the event is free, and they are delighted to be able to share a magnificent evening of splendor with everyone, they do wish to make everyone aware that should they choose to donate tonight, be it through benevolent gift or through the auction or gambling tables, all proceeds will be donated to the Red House Foundation- more specifically, Genessia’s branch, located in the heart of the city herself.
The call to enjoy the masquerade is punctuated with a deep bow and the swell of the band picking up once more to lead everyone into a night of majestic merriment.

Photos
With numerous celebrities about and the event in full swing, it’s to no one’s surprise that there are photographers practically crawling the place. Fortunately for all, quite a few have been hired by the event planning team and will be snapping moments (both candid and posed) of everyone in attendance. There’s even a designated area with various props to play with and a lovely backdrop doused in gold. These photos can be downloaded from the network later, so take advantage of these professionals, should your heart desire! After all, did one really look their best if there’s no photo to prove it?

Dancing
While there’s certainly no pop star performing and the music is much more classically suited, one will hear a familiar tune more often than not, spun by the tuxedo clad musicians to suit a more modern crowd. It’s upbeat and energetic for the most part, but every so often, they're likely to switch the mood to something much smoother (dare they say, romantic?) to sway to. Instructors are scattered throughout the crowd, should those unfamiliar with the ballroom style wish to learn something new!

Food
A party without food is absurd, regardless of the occasion. Drink flows readily from the bar, and an impressive variation of hors d’oeuvre has been laid out in a brilliant spread on the long tables along the edges of the room. Partake as you will, and leave a donation to show your appreciation if you’re so inspired!

Costume Parade
What’s the point of a masquerade without an outfit promenade? Show off your inspired attire to all who will gaze upon you. The more flamboyant, the more attention your costume will draw, and the more in-character one seems, the more believable the evening will be- Embrace the masks and let loose! Tonight is the night to be whoever (or whatever) your heart desires.

Gambling/Auction
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, there are multiple donated items on which to bid, ranging from weekend getaways to baskets of sweets to… rather peculiar fashion and odd home decor.
To the right of the auction display, there are multiple gaming tables with waiting croupier, ready to assist those with heavy wallets attempt to woo Lady Luck. The winnings (should there be any) can be kept or donated- the choice is yours.

Gardens
If one finds a need to escape the swirling of dance and swell of the music, the gardens below may serve you well. There’s a lovely courtyard, and just beyond the fountain, a garden maze, well lit for the season with the gentle glow of dazzling lights. Take a stroll alone, or hide away with a lover or confidant, or snag a seat for the fireworks- the choice is yours.

Fireworks
No grand gala ever ended without a burst of excitement to round out the evening. Toward the end of the evening, the sky will be lit with a brilliant display of silvers and golds, all timed perfectly with the band’s final performance. One can watch from the gardens or the rooftop, or, if in need of something more ~private~, the balconies throughout the hotel.

Masquerade! Burning glances, turning heads
Masquerade! Stop and stare at the sea of smiles around you
Masquerade! Grinning yellows, spinning reds
Masquerade! Take your fill, let the spectacle astound you

[The video starts off by focusing on Erza's face, with her expression as serious as it almost always is.]

Given the time of year that we're in, I have an important question to ask everyone.

[Her expression softens a little, as she starts to feel silly about asking this.] What are some good Halloween costumes for couples? I'm sure Mira and I can come up with some ideas, and we have plenty of costumes, but outside input couldn't hurt.

[She holds up the camera so that Mirajane's in the shot, seeing as she's busy working at the bar.] My girlfriend's the one with white hair. I figure she'll look good in anything, but that might help with suggestions.

[Action]

[Once she's gotten some answers, Erza can be found in one of several places:

-in the Fairy Tail guild - between getting blood bags for the newly-vampirized Mavis and spending time with Mirajane, she finds plenty of ways to keep herself busy

-patrolling Fayren - with so many people being transformed recently, she sees it as her duty as a deputy guardian to make sure that people get what they need, like different food sources or small changes to their living conditions.]

A. Video [OTA]
[Mavis looks pale... Really pale, much paler than usual. It could be because because she didn't get much sun for the past 5 days... There could be another reason. She fidgets a bit before bracing herself and smiling at the camera, a small careful smile.]

So this is a fun event, eh? ...Well, mostly. [She clears her throat.] It's instuctive, at least. And as long as it doesn't get in my way of doing my city guardian's duty, it's fine, right? [Well, mostly.].

I stil wonder what kind of magic is responsible of all this? And I'm surprised that we never get any information or warning about that... I mean, I've been investigating but so far... Nothing. [She tilts her head and her tongue passes over a particularly long canine.] It doesn't seem to be any kind of test. But then, what? A game? And who is it supposed to entertain?

[Her head straightens again and she lifts a notebook.] Anyway, I think I've recorded all the types of transformations people underwent during this event: like ghosts, fairies, vampires,... But just in case I forgot any, feel free to contact me to tell me what you were turned into. Or just send me an anonymous message, that works too.

Oh, and I wanted to say that Fairy Tail will attend the Masquerade Ball on November 9th and to formally thank the organizers for inviting everyone! It's going to be so much fun! Hopefully they won't serve anything with garlic in it... [At least, it's supposed to start after sunset.]

I'll see you all there. [She winks and ends the feed.]

B. Action [In Fairy Haven's main hall/Daytime/OTA]
Anyone who enters the main hall of Fairy Haven and pays attention will soon discover a trail of blood starting behind the kitchen counter and leading to... a wardrobe. The content of the wardrobe is all other the floor and the door is slightly ajar. As you come closer to the wardrobe, the sound of plastic rustling can be heard. Then a sigh. There's someone or something itside.

Will you dare open the door in full and find out?

C. Action [In Fayren's forest/Nighttime/OTA]
Mavis is walking barefoot in the grass - some things never change - under the moonlight, humming a soft tune under her breath. She looks so fragile and helpless. But suddenly she stops, raising her face, listening carefully, and looking around. Then, she smirks, long white canines glistening in the pale moonlight. Her look turns predatory and, uh-oh... she's looking right at you.

You blink and suddenly she's standing right in front of you, still grinning. How did she get there so fast? How did she even spot you?

"Hi~ Pleasant night, isn't it? I was starting to feel a bit lonely, though. Mind if I walk with you?"

[ A: Action, open to anyone in Fairy Haven ]

{ A pile of notes, two open books - both written in long-dead languages, and one in particular written entirely in hieroglyphs - and an untouched plate of food, quickly growing cold, laid before Zeref at his table in Fairy Haven. He was neglecting all of them, as he shook a snowglobe-like object and just... stared at it. A smile slowly spread across his features, as he stared, transfixed as if in a trance of some kind. For several minutes he'd sit like this, before stowing the object in his pocket, turning back to the forgotten lunch and unfinished translations.

Clearly, he was having trouble focusing. He looked over his notes once more, and then unceremoniously closed the books and set them aside. They weren't needed until the end of the week. They could wait. Without any input from him, a Pokéball fell out of his sleeve, and out popped what looked like a blue-eyed doll dressed in a gothic lolita dress. She didn't say anything; just stared, unblinking, at her trainer, as if expecting him to say something in particular.
}

Gothorita.

{ Zeref nodded down at his notes. }

Can you proofread those for me? They're written in lunar runes. You're the expert, there.

{ Gothorita didn't answer. She just continued staring for several seconds, before the notes rose up into the air, levitating in chronological order in front of her. He didn't need to convince her with words; Future Sight told her everything she needed to know about the reward in the form of ice cream waiting for her afterward. With that, Zeref withdrew the snowglobe once more, setting it down next to the uneaten food, and went back to staring, himself. }

B: Video, OTA

I have a question. Anybody may answer.

{ Zeref picked up the device, moving it away from the sunglare coming in from a nearby window. }

For those who remember, a while back, necromancy was illegal in Everglade. That ban has since been repealed. I was thinking about the parallels to my own world, where certain forms of magic were arbitrarily banned by various governments, on the pretext that they were inherently dangerous.

{ Zeref had plenty to say about that, but he'd keep the political discussion for another time. His question was far more straightforward than that. }

How many of you come from a world where magic, or any sort of equivalent power, was made forbidden to even learn, and what was the rationale behind that decision? I want to compare these instances to my own world, and this world, for that matter.

A [Video/Open to all]

[Mavis is sitting by the lake in Fayren.]

August is a great month of the year, isn't it?

[She sounds dreamy, and she might be blushing a little.]

I would have liked to be able to tell him that.

[She suddenly realizes the feed is open. She blinks and then simply smiles.] I've heard people celebrate anniversaries by offering something that corresponds to the number of years. Like... 50 years corresponds to gold, 60 years correspond to diamonds,... But I couldn't find a book about it.

Could one of you help me figure out what 3 years mean?

B [Text message - Private to all Fayren deputies + Moon Knight] )

C [Action - Open to all Fairy Haven residents/employees/regulars and to Aizawa, Bakugou and whoever they decide to bring with them] )

Who: Hana, Sam, Zeref and Mavis.
Where: Fayren, at the book store owned by Mavis and called "Scribes and Scripts".
When: Today (August 20th), after closing time.
What: Mavis received two job applications, from Hana and Sam respectively. They wish to become book hunters at Scribes and Scripts. Since Mavis doesn't really know them, she's invited the two of them to come to the book store to get know them and talk about their future job. As the resident book clerk, Zeref is present as well.
Warnings: BOOKWORMS EVERYWHERE!!! People allergic to books, please stay away from this post. ;)

Mavis pushed the door from Scribes and Scripts, the little bell greeting her with its soft chime, and let out a contented sigh. Sure, she liked her Guardian office, she liked Fairy Haven too but, for some reason, coming back to the bookstore always felt special to her. Maybe because it reminded her of the abandoned library that used to be Mavis' and Zera's favorite spot on Tenrou island.

She walked down a few aisles, caressing the leather bindings of some random books as she went. They had sold quite a few books lately and they were empty spots on the shelves now. Yes, it was time to refill the book store and that was exactly where the two potential book hunters she was planning on meeting today came into play. If they loved books half as much as their job application suggested they did, they'd be perfect for the task. They'd find the missing pieces that would make those shelves whole again.

Mavis' small bare feet padded soundlessly on the wooden floor as she made her way to Zeref's desk. And, as was to be expected of a dutiful book clerk, there he was, sitting behind the desk, a book in one hand and a coffee mug in the other. She smiled at him.

"Is there some coffee left for me? I don't remember when was the last time I had so much paperwork to do."

She hopped gracefully onto a ladder using it as a stool.

"Hana and Sam should be here soon," she sounded cheerful, yet calm at the same time. A strange combination that only a hundred year old girl who still looked like she was fifteen could muster. "Sam graduated from a school called Stanford back in his world. Have you ever heard of it? From the way he wrote about it, they have you read a lot of books there."

There was the slightest bit of envy to the blond girl's voice. Going to college was something Sam and Zeref had in common. Unfortunately, Mavis never got to go to school. That was something she had always wished she could have done, though, with time, she had managed to learn more by herself than she could ever have at school.

She looked towards the door, waiting for their potential future co-workers.

[Oh look, Mami’s usual serene smile is gone.]

I’m thinking I should start going to school here. I just….Working at the Bunny Poof Cafe is fine for now, but...I don’t think I want to be a waitress forever? But a lot of other jobs require some sort of qualifications.

The only problem is I don’t know what I do want to do. While I do have time to think about it, I’d rather have more of a plan to act on…

So my question to you all I guess is, what brought you to doing what you do? Or otherwise, do you have any suggestions for me moving forward?
