01. Video & Action around Genessia OTA
((OOC note, if your character asks about her home or any of the people she mentions, she's guaranteed to refer to herself as a main character or talk about how she's a manga/anime heroine. So if that's too much 4th wall, just note that and I'll avoid it!))
[ Action ]
[ If you're out and about in Genessia City, there are a few places you might catch Kagura throughout the day. Squatting in front of Weiss's hologram, as if she's a little kid enjoying story time. Or maybe at Cake Town stuffing her face with what little money she has. Or she might be at the Genessia police station, trying to file a missing persons report for a pair of glasses and a dead fish with a silver perm.
Or feel free to run into her somewhere else. She's extremely pale, using a large purple umbrella to hide from the sun, and she looks a bit young to be wandering on her own. ]
[ Video - Much later in the day ]
This goes out to everyone, right?
[ She's standing in the middle of her tiny commonspace room, picking her nose and shuffling her feet in uncharacteristic nervousness. She suddenly realizes everyone can see her too, and she pulls her finger from her nose quickly. ]
Umm, I am Kagura, yes? I just got here, ahead of my Earth family, and I heard that people have to get jobs here. I used to be the manager of an odd-jobs business back in Edo, [ Total lie, but Gintoki isn't around to smack her upside the head and inform everyone that she was just a worthless employee. ] so I was wondering if there are any jobs like that? I'm real strong, so I can do any kind of job. I want to have a really nice place when Gin-chan and Shinpachi get here, so I need money, yes?
[ Because she knows they can't break up the main trio of characters for too long! So they have to be on their way to Genessia, right? ]

[ This is just her complaining about her boss! Is she even pretending to be a manager anymore? Who knows.
She does seem more at ease with talking one on one though. There's also the fact that there's something comforting about this kid's hair color, and he seems to be her age. ]
We did all kinds of jobs though! Like finding an alien octopus monster and not eating it, standing in line for a Bentendo OWee, fixing a cursed hot spring, watching every episode of Ladies Four...

He finally breaks.]
A-Ahh? Wait-- Some of those sound dangerous? And not like jobs? Um, n-not that it's my place to judge?

[ If you're from an insane gag manga anyway. ]
Maybe if you train hard enough, you could try it out someday! If you need help, just say so, yes? I have done many training arcs, so I could get you ready for a job or tournament in no time.
[ How did a tournament come up? Who knows. But Kagura sticks a finger in her nose and gives a somewhat smug grin because she's so great at everything. In her mind. ]

I have worked as an idol and as a convenience store manager too, but I am not sure those are right for me.
[Video]
[Wait, that's heathenry. Ted got carried away with onomastics again.]
Oh! Has the employment application made any good suggestions, or did those repulse you?
[Video]
One time Gin-chan said I could be a shrine maiden because no one would marry a booger girl. I would be at the top of my field, yes?
[ Said very matter-of-factly, like this conversation actually makes sense to her. ]
Employment application? I missed it, yes? I did not see anything to fill out!
Re: [Video]
As for what else may be worth shooting, I'll send you the link. It often makes fine suggestions for those looking for employment, like yourself.
Here you are!
[Video]
[ Brief intermission while she checks out the job suggestions. ]
Thanks, mister! If it tells me a bad job, I don't have to do it, yes?
Re: [Video]
Not training I've ever heard, but if I did, I'd know just the girl or two to send you to. Goodness, were those games training for courtship?
Ah-ha, heavens no. They're suggests, naught else.
[Video]
[ This is what happens when all of your role models are terrible. ]
It is a substitute for courtship!
Re: [Video]
...though I feel I'm missing something. How would--what were they called--Ah! "Otome games" help? Wouldn't even virtual exposure to such be a temptation?
[The crazy train knows no breaks.]
[Video]
No, you see, it is the same logic as the dating games for boys, yes? When a glasses or an otaku plays a dating game, they fall in love with the girl they created in the game. A real girl frightens them after that! It will be the same with an otome game, yes?
Re: [Video]
[Wait that's depressing.]
Er, is aversion from the opposite sex anything salutary? What's a "glasses" and "otaku"?
[Video]
[ She nods sagely. ]
An otaku is someone who only eats pocky and furikake rice. They are afraid of the sunlight, so they must stay in doors all day. They can venture outside at night time to see their favorite teenage girl singers, but they must get back inside before the day break.
A glasses is the same thing, but it is a pair of glasses.
[ Because her best friend in the world, who is not present, is constantly reduced to the fact that he wears glasses. It's a whole character type. ]
Re: [Video]
Ah...goodness, how dreadful. Well, except the glasses. Fortunately we've none suffering that ailment that I know of. Er, are these otaku born or made? Do the otome games have anything to do with it?
[It's like vampirism, but pettier.]
[Video]
Otome games are the key to making a woman Otaku, but it is rare.
Re: [Video]
[Video]
[ She should know. She met her boss back home because he ran her over on his way to the convenience store to buy Jump. ]
Re: [Video]
Well, thank you for informing about these--thankfully-hypothetical dangers. I hope your quest for employment proves fruitful. If not and things turn desperate, seek me again. I might have something as a last resort.

Which is basically anyone who arrived here in the pods.

Same with anyone else with a pendant which we all get too.

Re: video;
[ Sparking isn't a color, but sure. ]
And you need a really good catchphrase, like maybe 'Exactly as mapped!' or 'I am the maroon lightning, damn it!" or something!
video;
I mean bad stuff always happens to them in shows and books.
video;
I do not know another way to get married.
[ She really doesn't. All she knows is dumb shounen drama. ]
video;
But there are other ways to get married you know.
video;
[ She doesn't. ]
If you are planning to propose to me, I do not think I can accept.
video;
Why would you think that?
[Just why?]
I was never going to, I was just going to talk.
[Video] Naturally, she's fine with 4th wall breaking
Looks sure are deceiving, hm? We are both a testament to that.
[Video] excellent 8D
[ She looks pretty excited upon hearing that they have something in common. She definitely needs to build up a good roster of potential co-main characters until her group gets here. ]
You are a professional too? Ah, did you become the Shogun? Or an AV model?
[Video]
I guess you can say I'm a jack of all trades. I don't like sticking to one thing for long, because it usually gets boring to me. [Pipimi ponders for a while.] But really, I've had all kinds of jobs, from mercenary to adventurer, done it all!
Re: [Video]
Interesting, interesting. I have one question, yes? What character type were you before you got here?
video

Unless you are asking to go into business with me or lend me money, yes? I accept both! I will text you the drop point. Unmarked bills.

[ She considers that for a moment, before her mood brightens considerably. ]
Are you able to play the games? Are there tournaments? Ah, perhaps I should come to work to help you in exchange for you helping me, yes?

[ She salutes, even though she just admitted she basically just wants to play games. ]

[ She nods happily. ]
I will be in sometime soon to help you on your game journey, yes!
