It's hard to believe it's time for another Guardian election already. Needless to say, I'm sitting this one out. I still have doubts that the position is right for me.

[That, and he knows he can't win so long as Mavis is running. Not that he'd want to compete against her for the position in any case.]

It's hard not to feel that way, when I have the increased feeling that I don't belong in this world at all. Even among Fayren's Deputy team, I'm the odd one out.

[A giant dragon among a Guardian and a group of deputies who are or appear to be human, but also all happen to be women.]

Let me tell you...being as large as I am presents its own set of problem. Liora is small enough to mingle with humankind. Alexstraza has the ability to shift into a smaller form, which allows her to blend in better.

But in spite of all of that, I wouldn't wish to be anything else. Fascinating, is it not? That no matter how much you wish to be something else, you're ultimately satisfied with what you are.

[He pauses for a moment before moving on to the next thing that's bugging him.]

In regards to the election, I think there should be some kind of screening process before becoming eligible. Honestly, a dragon-hunting wartoad who favors "explosion and murder" above anything else should not be allowed to run.

[She has a feeling she knows who he's referring to in the second concern:]

And regarding Katsuki-san... I'm very sorry about what happened. The dragon is okay, though... and I feel like Katsuki-san learned a lot.

I think we all have our problems, not feeling like we can find our places. But that's when we can use what we are good at to figure out what to do.

I mean at the beginning I didn't feel like I belonged and was only here because I could go home. But I figured things out as I go and now I'm doing more than I could imagine.

[He...barely remembers this dragon. It's not his dragon or Satou's, that's for sure. He cracks his neck, looking annoyed.]

All right Extra, I've got a lot of work to do so let's make this quick.

You wanna die? Let's fuckin' do this.

[He can't imagine what kind of "work" he's doing or going through.]

Perhaps. However, humans use a lot of gatherings to bond with each other, and I can't even attend the majority of them because I can't fit inside their buildings.

[But he will learn by the time Qubine is through with him. Or not. Oh well.]

That's what I have been doing...or so I believed. My primary concern is survival. It's...hard sometimes.

[Hard to not let the animals go extinct, and just as hard not having to fight tons of beasts.]

It's even harder knowing that things are happening back home that demand our attention.

I won't be the one to die, but challenge accepted. I'll be in Fayren.

[First he'll stop by his subarchway to grab a few potions from Orphne, just in case. He's confident in his survival skills, but he's not going to underestimate his opponent. Hell, not underestimating an opponent is one of the most essential lessons to keep in mind. Then he'll wait in an open field in Fayren.]

I'll make one thing clear: You requested this. You don't get to complain and call me a murderer once I'm through with you.

[That said, he changes to his hero costume, equips his bracers and grenades and heads out, stopping in the field and observing his opponent.]

...I guess you're big.

[Of course he is. She sighs a bit, shaking her head. One issue at a time:]

If that's the case... Then thank you for bringing it to my attention. Next time something comes up, I'll try to suggest we move it to a wide open venue. I'm sure that you're not the only one feeling a bit excluded.

[She giggles, quietly continuing,] Katsuki-san... if definitely different. I don't know how he's lived before now, but yelling and throwing violent tantrums seems to be his first problem solving strategy. If he's so quick to use it, it's probably because he gets a response from it and feels like it works.

[At that, her voice transitions to be more serious. Not... threatening, per say. But from one adult to another.]

So please do not engage in that challenge. Ignore him. Hang up when he does it. I think his run for Guardian is sincere. He may not win, but I won't let his kindness be snuffed out by his violence either. [...] Even if I... kinda had to shoot him off that dragon to get the point across.

I beg to differ. You're the one who stated, "You wanna die? Let's fuckin' do this." Therefore, this is by your request.

[And he'll just be relaxing in Fayren when the little beast arrives, and then he'll stand and face him.]

I guess you're small. That's expected.

[He bares his claws from his gauntlets, planting all four of his feet on the ground, waiting for the first move.]

All right...

[That's all he'll have to say on the first matter. But he tries not to scoff at the rest of it.]

His kindness? I have yet to see anything kind from him. I'm sorry, but asking me if I want to die is not something that is going to be met without a fight. I am a survivor, after all, and I take threats very seriously.

[His left eye twitches a little.]

[So he has armor on top of his armor. Bakugo doesn't know the rules regarding real dragons, and every species might be slightly different, but it's safe to say Qubine's scales are likely fireproof. In boss battles, the colossal idiots often have a weak spot to exploit--often somewhere on the underside, but without getting closer there's no way to be sure. He doesn't want to reveal all his tricks just yet, but he's not afraid...

Let's see how fast Qubine is. Bakugo runs at him from between his legs, trying to get a closer look for any weak spots.]

[Satou sighs softly. Fayren isn’t her responsibility and she doesn’t like sticking her nose in other peoples’ business...

But she isn’t able to stand by and let people fight. Her eyes flash briefly as she summons her wand and transforms into a new dress, now walking out of her apartment.]

I’m going to ask one more time: Please reconsider. Neither of you are in your home world anymore. Excuses for violence are just that. If you’ve already planned to meet him then simply tell me where and don’t show up: I can handle him.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm hoping that Dante wins that election.

{ He's going to ignore Qubine's other comment about 'being satisfied with what you are.' There isn't a day that goes by where he wouldn't give anything - well, almost anything - to be free of this Curse. If it wasn't for Mavis and his Curse being comparatively much easier to control here than in his own world, he'd still be trying to find a way to break it, even if it would be completely meaningless in a world where he can't die permanently. }

He's done the impossible. He made Dante seem qualified by comparison.

I get the feeling the way he handles things is... vastly different from our own. But I like to think he is at least trying to do the right thing, even if he goes the wrong way about it.

[She had to stop him from trying to attempt to kill the paperboy of all things because she got hit with a newspaper. She gets that was probably his way of being nice, just not reacting in the right way.]

[He sighs...]

I'll admit I don't know Dante personally, but he already has my vote for not being the other guy.

Whether or not we're in our home world makes no difference. I will survive in any world, and I will respond to any threats in kind.

[So like hell he's going to reconsider.]

We haven't picked out a specific location, but I plan on staying in a wide open field, away from residential areas. It shouldn't be difficult to find me. If you want to come and put this wartoad back on his leash, you're more than welcome to.

[That's about as much mercy as he's going to show to his opponent - stopping the fight when someone intervenes.]

He's... not the ideal candidate from what I've seen of the debates, but nothing could be worse than an unqualified fool who seems eager to start a war.

[Needless to say Mavis's very touched by Qubine's message but priorities, priorities,...]

Qubine, as a deputy guardian of Fayren... please try not to hurt this boy.

[Considering Bakugo's way of fighting a dragon is to try and jump on them and bite them... Yeah, he's going to get stomped into the ground before he can say 'MMORPG'.]

Well, you already know my opinion on the matter... I think you'd make an excellent guardian. And 'odd'... Everyone's odd to someone. [Look at her: an immortal woman in the body of a teenager who walks barefoot everywhere she goes.]

But I respect your decision. And, at least, I hope I can still count on you as one of my deputies, right?

[Qubine is actually quite fast, since he's trained himself to strike both fast and hard. But he also decides to wait to see what Bakugo can do before deciding how much force he needs to put in. As Bakugo tries to get between his legs, Qubine dashes forward past him before he can get a good look at his underside.]

[Yes, at the request of both Mavis and Satou, he's holding back, as he turns to face Bakugo again.]

Hmm. I'll try.

[Key word being "try." But he'll see. That's another thing that sucks about being in Genessia - most of the things he does back home to survive could get him in trouble with the law here. He's not sure if being a Deputy gives him more leeway on the matter, or just puts him on an even tighter legal leash.]

I've already got someone coming to stop him, so I'll try to hold out.

Indeed. His hunting dragons will only make things worse. If he frightens them enough, they may decide to act, and that would not be good for civilians.

[Not that Qubine knows any of those details about her. He thinks she's just another normal human.]

I'll still remain a deputy. I'd feel even more lost otherwise.

[At least the deputy job gives him some purpose.]
