10th Shot [Midday: Video]

You know, I've been vondering something.

[Rip pops on screen with a bit of a yawn. She really shouldn't be awake right now but, well.. unpleasant dreams always prevented her from sleeping. At least they were getting less and less again. On that, she partially had Namur to thank...among other people.

She removes her glasses for a moment to rub her eyes, looking almost adorable as she does so before slipping the wire rimmed spectacles back on her face.]

Zo, vorking for Jolly Eddy's, I vas told zhat verevolves and vampires don't get along in Zhe Everglade for some reason. I'm a little confused by zhis.

[She stiffled another yawn before continuing.]

I'm a vampire und I haf never had trouble getting along vith verevolves. Ve alvays make fast friends und zhey are good hunting partners. I get zhe blood, zhey get zhe meat and nothing gets vaisted... Zo, vhy vas zhere a problem ? It doesn't make sense to me.

[In other words, Rip really doesn't get it. Can someone explain this to her please?]

If anyone haz an explanation, I vould be glad to hear it.

From my experience, it's primarily an issue of territory. The Werewolves that inhabit Castlevania are subservient only because I made them subservient. In fact they attacked me, some nonsense about encroaching on their food supply.

They also tend to be rather xenophobic, choosing to associate with others of their pack, seeing outsiders as a threat. However, I cannot say if that is the case for the werewolves native to this place, however.

I wonder if it has something to do with this place in general as I've never seen any issues between the two back home, either. Territory is a thing with canines, I suppose, but they don't have the same source of food so it seems rather redundant.

[Private to Rip]

Though if the other vampires in question are like the one that's a problem here or like the ones I've known of back home, they could just be trying to subjugate those that aren't their problem or they don't have control over.

As unfortunate as it is, some vampires feel they are above everyone else and it's a rather disgusting display to watch.

It's true, it's true~ Humans aren't creatures that like to be controlled, nor do most mortals to begin with, in my experience on both sides. But using their weaknesses against them to make it seem they're in control when they really, truly, aren't tends to work a lot better in the long run. But what do I know, I care about myself and my brother only at the end of the day~

[She's snorting softly at that.]

That sounds about right in my limited experiences with them, I know I'm not terribly keen on getting into fights or scraps with creatures that have brute force on their side in spades. But my method of "feeding", as it were, interferes with neither party so it's at least amusing to sit back and watch.

Oh, you're preaching to the choir~ [She's pretty much cooing those words before going back to a normal, if far too giddy undertone, tone to go with the rest.]

It's honestly not as hard as some seem to make it out to be, I've done a few different things in my... afterlife, I suppose is the word now, to not have learned a trick or two or learned a thing or two about how mortals, humans in particular, tend to function. Wonderland and the fact I exist are testament to that enough, no?

[Back to werewolves, right.]

Or just don't get involved in the first place. The ones I've dealt with are simple enough to bargain with as it tends to just be some sort of mistake or them wanting some tribute or whatever. I honestly couldn't care less if they wanted the flesh after I was done pulling the emotions out of someone. Not like I can use flesh, after all.

I admit I have not had any personal experience with the werewolves of this place, and frankly have no desire to.

They stand apart from Castlevania, making them prey.

It's certainly something to be looking into which is... on my list of priorities, I really do not need some ridiculous turf war going on over something as stupid as that.

[She's quiet for a moment, leaning back in her chair as she contemplates over something.]

It would be far more efficient, wouldn't it? Liches take the emotional output, vampires can have the blood, and the werewolves can have the flesh. I don't see why it'd be a problem... Maybe a visit to where a pack lives might be in order as they couldn't kill me even if they tried.

[Oh, there's a far more sadistic grin pulling to her lips.]

Well, I am running for Everglade Guardian. Which, if I managed to become elected, I think it could be swung rather easily, no?~

[She's biting back a small laugh, good grief.]

Everglade is already known as a hotbed for these sorts of things, what would it being more efficient really change?

And it's in the interests of keeping the non-human population under control and not out there killing far more numbers if it was just for themselves. One person can sate at least three non-humans instead of one for one.

It's just numbers at that point.

Because I cannot afford otherwise. Castlevania and her inhabitants are my top concern, and simply by being what we are, we are targets for the filth.

[There's a sigh, losing Lisa for a second time clearly still having an affect on him.]

I wish you would come to Castlevania to live. Remilia and Flandre would love to have you around, I'm sure.

Well here they ain't had t' fight nobody else, really. Mean, they'll bitch an' moan all day long how it ain't fair an' they're so oppressed but seriously, humans ain't never come t' Everglade t' wipe 'em out or nothin'. So they fight theirselves. 'S jus' nature.

Research costs money~!

[Eliot apparently has to invite death and murder threats from Rip at least once a month.]
