 You know, I've been vondering something.

[Rip pops on screen with a bit of a yawn. She really shouldn't be awake right now but, well.. unpleasant dreams always prevented her from sleeping. At least they were getting less and less again. On that, she partially had Namur to thank...among other people. 

She removes her glasses for a moment to rub her eyes, looking almost adorable as she does so before slipping the wire rimmed spectacles back on her face.]

Zo, vorking for Jolly Eddy's, I vas told zhat verevolves and vampires don't get along in Zhe Everglade for some reason. I'm a little confused by zhis. 

[She stiffled another yawn before continuing.]

I'm a vampire und I haf never had trouble getting along vith verevolves. Ve alvays make fast friends und zhey are good hunting partners. I get zhe blood, zhey get zhe meat and nothing gets vaisted... Zo, vhy vas zhere a problem ? It doesn't make sense to me.

[In other words, Rip really doesn't get it. Can someone explain this to her please?]

If anyone haz an explanation, I vould be glad to hear it.

From my experience, it's primarily an issue of territory. The Werewolves that inhabit Castlevania are subservient only because I made them subservient. In fact they attacked me, some nonsense about encroaching on their food supply.

They also tend to be rather xenophobic, choosing to associate with others of their pack, seeing outsiders as a threat. However, I cannot say if that is the case for the werewolves native to this place, however.

Zhat hasn't been my experience vith zhem in the slightest. Every verevolf I haf met haz alvays been... accepting of vat I am az much as I haf vith zhem.

Ve are both monsters, vhy argue over territory vhen ve had different food needs?

[She starts to idly toy with a blue gem on a necklace, idly just rolling it in her fingers. It wasn't from the necklace all arrivals had, it was something on it's own chain that obviously meant something to her.]

I admit I have not had any personal experience with the werewolves of this place, and frankly have no desire to.

They stand apart from Castlevania, making them prey.

I wonder if it has something to do with this place in general as I've never seen any issues between the two back home, either. Territory is a thing with canines, I suppose, but they don't have the same source of food so it seems rather redundant.

Though if the other vampires in question are like the one that's a problem here or like the ones I've known of back home, they could just be trying to subjugate those that aren't their problem or they don't have control over.

As unfortunate as it is, some vampires feel they are above everyone else and it's a rather disgusting display to watch.

If a vampire is going to rule over anyzhing, it vould be humans. Even zhen, humans are a difficult creature to fully control.

But, verevolves make better allies zhan opponents. I lived vith one for fifty years. He vas a beast and damn near immortal. I vouldn't van't to fight against him even if I had zhe power of zay, Dracula at my disposal.

It's true, it's true~ Humans aren't creatures that like to be controlled, nor do most mortals to begin with, in my experience on both sides. But using their weaknesses against them to make it seem they're in control when they really, truly, aren't tends to work a lot better in the long run. But what do I know, I care about myself and my brother only at the end of the day~

That sounds about right in my limited experiences with them, I know I'm not terribly keen on getting into fights or scraps with creatures that have brute force on their side in spades. But my method of "feeding", as it were, interferes with neither party so it's at least amusing to sit back and watch.

Territory fights aside, zhere is no reason vhy verevolves und vampires should be at odds. Zome of my best hunting partners vere verevolves.

It just vorked und ve made for a very efficient team.

Well here they ain't had t' fight nobody else, really. Mean, they'll bitch an' moan all day long how it ain't fair an' they're so oppressed but seriously, humans ain't never come t' Everglade t' wipe 'em out or nothin'. So they fight theirselves. 'S jus' nature.

[He knows that's face and that voice. It's been far too long. It has been years for him, since he last saw her. Still, it's good to see her doing well and he just arrived here a few days ago. Not that she can sense him because he's contacting her far away in an abandoned house in Everglade, so he's out of distance for her to sense him. Seras wouldn't have a problem sensing him, but comparing between the two, Rip is still the weaker vampire.]

Werewolves don't make good hunting partners. Under the full moon, they go crazy and they don't remember themselves after they transformed.

Now if you charm say...a normal wolf from the woods, they might make better pets and hunting partners. If you're a vampire and you know how to use your powers efficiently, that would be easy and you have a whole pack following you.

Of course, you seemed to be the sort to take the hard way when it comes to these things. So good luck charming a werewolf. I heard they are easy to charm as hunting partners when they seek mates under the full moon.

[It takes her a few moments to read through the text and just stare at it a moment. Admittedly, it did hit a little bit of a sore spot with her. It just reminded Rip how much she lacked in abilities compared to other vampires...]

Not all of them go crazy. There are a few that don't and even if they do, they are familiar enough with me as their hunting partner to not attack.

[Then again..she could be just as predatory as them, at least enough not to register as prey and as a predator to hunt with... That, and Rip had no idea how to 'charm' anything. She wasn't..Well. Rip knew she was weaker than others and just different. ]

....You don't need to 'charm' wolves or werewolves for hunt with them. And I don't need another 'mate'. I already have two men in my life I'm perfectly happy with.

[He was smirking for a bit, but then..."..." There's a huff and his smirking expression turned into curiosity. She has the chance to become much greater than she was if he ever decides and the agreement will be mutual, though chances would be slim. But considering who he is, and what he is to a her...a monster that haunts her nightmares even now. Hence why he can't reveal his identity. At least not yet.

Still, such a response. He didn't expect that from her. His text was meant to be playful, though he didn't give werewolves much of a thought. To him, vampire or werewolf or monster, his bullets makes no distinct when he hunts, even if they cry out and beg for mercy. He stared at the message for a few long moments. Especially the last one and it reminded him of how Integra puts him in his place.]

So I stand corrected. You must have worked with them a long time to understand their language and they understand you. That takes cooperation and a lot of empathy.

[That's impressive, Rip. Putting Alucard in his place and get him to admit he's wrong and make feel humbled. Even for a few moments. A weak vampire by scientific experimentation. But just because she's that...doesn't make her a weak vampire. There are other ways to make oneself strong. Know thyself. Courage. Honor. Values Alucard adhered to, and still do. But in his arrogance, he forgot.

So that makes you a monster tamer. Including your men. Besides werewolves, what else can you handle?

Maybe it's a historical thing? Like, this clan fought this clan way back in the day and it's all technically over but people inherited a grudge from grandma and grandpa.

Yeah. I mean, it could still be that, like one guy stole another guy's sheep back in the day and they started fighting and nobody backed down and the whole thing snowballed from there.

I put it down to possible bad history as a possible reason. I mean if there was something that happened between the two, bad blood is a possibility.

Or just hating for the sake of it can also be another reason.

It sounds like superstition, to me. [She can't help but chuckle, quirking a brow.] Following that logic, shouldn't you be more inclined to stalking the night in search of mortal prey to seduce back to your lair?

I'm glad you get along well!

I'm not really too sure why. I know there was a nightclub vampire explosion though, but no one really seemed to know who did it, or what motivated it. It pushed the tensions really high though.

I think it might also be an overlap or senses thing. My father's universe has vampires and werewolves, but they're both so rare on Earth that I couldn't tell you if they got along or not.

If there was a war in the past, I haven't heard of it, but I'd like to know anything you uncover you'd be willing to share!
