Operation 29 | [Video/Action]
[Private Action - Skyhouse Network Suite 102]
Gah! C'mon, ya dumb thing. Work already!
[Gale let out a sigh. He'd been working in his room for hours, tampering with a small project that he'd forgotten all about until Weiss had contacted him about robotics. That "Santa Claws" or whatever he was called had dropped off a little old relic from Gale's past - one he'd long since forgotten about and had ended up storing away and never bothering to pull it out again. It was a project he'd worked on back during his mercenary days that eventually broke down, so why it got dropped off to him here was something he couldn't possibly figure out. But hey, at least it gave him something to do once he'd remembered it. It could also help him brush up on more hands-on know-how on basic robotics.
At this point he was getting tired, having neglected some club time for it, but he was determined to get it back together and working. He stared at the inner wiring and components of what could be best described as a robot dragon, which was about the size of a small cat. The outer metal was dusty and lightly dented, but it seemed relatively pristine otherwise thanks to just being stored away all this time. Maybe the inner workings weren't as pristine as the outside, Gale feared he might have to buy some new parts to get it working again.
Or perhaps not, as with a little more tinkering, its optical LEDs flickered to life with the little robot lifting its head to look at Gale.]
Huh. I'll be damned. You do still work. Welcome back, little guy.
[Still. Wouldn't hurt to get it some newer parts.]

[The feed clicks on to show Gale, decked out in an outfit that hadn't been seen since the Attleton Olympics, comfortably seated on the balcony that overlooked After Life. The feed seemed to wobble slightly once in a while, as if it were being held by someone or something, all while picking up the background music of the club.]
Gooood evening again, lovelies. Juuust a reminder that during every election season, drinks at all Gale Force locations are all half off. Both alcoholic and non, of course, for all you under 16 folk.
But! [He claps his hands together.] Advertising isn't what I'm here for! In fact, I overheard a little birdy saying some bizarre things about me!
[A "little birdy" was one of his club goers... who he successfully flirted with and got the information he needed from.]
Turns out folks are concerned I'm infected with a virus! Fear not, darlings. I run diagnostics on my cybernetics every night, and I've been clean every time. Ya won't hear about me goin' rogue anytime soon.
[It's more like he checks himself once every week but point still stands. They don't need to know he doesn't check every day. The people who believe this rumor clearly have no understanding of cybernetics anyway.]
But! If any folks are genuinely concerned that this is a thing I could miss, then I will gladly meet with a cybernetics professional to check it out and lay these claims to rest. Can never be too sure, I suppose. But if I could be infected with a basic computer virus, then the professor did a real shitty job on me. He wouldn't stand for it.
[It all sounds like something he wouldn't put past the Cardinals though, but Zykalis wouldn't lower himself to making Gale - a cyborg - susceptible to viruses. He's not worried. He waves at the camera.]
All of you have a good night, now. And happy voting~
[And the feed cuts.]

[Action - Around Nova City]
[When he wasn't in After Life, Gale was out and about throughout Nova City. It may or may not be his standard patrol time (not that he sticks to a solid schedule on that) but he's stopping an awful lot. He was mostly on foot to make it easier, but not without the sweet jet pack that Ayame had gifted him on his back. He kept stopping on certain blocks, looking at his device before surveying the area around him. He rolled his shoulders, looking at his tiny metal companion resting on his shoulder.]
Huh. Who'da thought that a city gets bigger when you're makin' a point to check the place in and out.
[He may not know what the results of the election will be, but it won't stop him from at least putting forth some kind of effort on his promises. It can't all be bullshit, if he wants his reputation to stay in tact. He puts down another marker on his device's map, which had at least a dozen marked down already. It's a lot harder to figure out good locations for potential WayPoints and shelters than he ever thought.]
Man. If I can go through with this, pretty sure I'll be broke pretty damn quick. Unless...
[Yep, that sure is Gale talking to himself. Or maybe he's talking his little robot. Hard to tell. At least he hadn't accidentally turned on the video while thinking out loud like so many others have done.]

For someone who supposedly doesn't care, you still took that precious time out of your day to respond.
Aww, you do care!

Although, I don't really understand what you're talking about, it sounded awful.. infections..

I appreciate the concern, but nothin' like that actually happened. Somehow a rumor got spreadin' that I did have a virus.
It's awful for robots and androids, but I'm not exactly susceptible to what they're talkin' about. Viruses can break down or even take control of androids, but cyborgs? Chances are way too slim for that.
[He pauses.] Hopefully I didn't lose ya again. Techo-jargon can be a lot for some people.

I'm totally lost! Are you... are you saying you're ... not a human?

[The dhampir cannot help but smirk a little.]
While I'm quite grateful you lack any sort of "Virus", I'm curious as to how such a nasty rumor came about.

[He shrugs.]
No idea, weird rumors just crop up sometimes. Could be just someone trying to undermine me, could be a joke was overheard and took as fact. It's hilarious either way to me.
