[When the video feed flips on, there's a boy who looks approximately 7-9 years old. In reality, Phibrizzo is a lot older than that, but he's found people are always more willing to be helpful when you look tiny and non-threatening.]

I'm new here and I got the speech about this place, but I didn't really get to ask any questions, so I'm going to ask them here.

Does this place have problems with angry spirits that run around trying to kill people after dark every night?

[It's an oddly specific question, but he has his reasons for asking it.]

Second, how many people practice magic of some form here?

I find that there isn't too much of a problem in that regard here.

There are several people who use magic, myself included. I assume you use it too?

Is there any other help you need?

Oh, that's good. I was in a city where that was a big problem. My magic was good for defending against it, though.

[He nods at the question.]

I do use it, yeah. Um...are there places that will hire a kid for a job? I can read books written for adults so I don't really want to go to school and be bored learning stuff I already know.

Hmm, I don't think so in most cities. Maybe the Everglade but that place is mostly creepy and stuff.

[Meanwhile Rodger, his stuffed bear, is just staring.... There is a spirit inside him.]

And I use magic.

I mean if a ghost isn't happy with a tip they get mad. They can be vicious.

[He is pretty much making a joke, yet he has seen that happen too.]

How is it creepy?

[Phibrizzo pauses. Even through video he can tell that bear isn't just an inanimate object.]

What kind of magic do you use?

Are there ghost waitstaff around here? I mean, at least they can't be worked to death, right?

Well, there are vampires and werewolves there, and maybe other stuff. I imagine if anything, ghosts are there too. And if you're aren't a fighter, it makes it hard to travel in the Everglade.

[Curious AI bear stays curious while clinging to Bridget's shoulder while Bridget doesn't seem to mind at all.]

Lighting. With a couple yo-yo tricks.

[He flashes the yo-yo happily.]

I know magic, yes. I'm not any good at healing magic whatsoever, but I can do some other stuff.

[Some of which is absolutely terrible. Fortunately, his kind can cast elemental spells and pass for human, appearance-wise, if they're strong enough.]

[Can you blame him for being curious? He's from a video game where there is nothing but fighting.]

A few elemental spells and some death magic like making angry spirits calm down and stop bothering people.

[He's okay with curiousity, within reason. It's natural.]

That's really neat. I'm sure the Everglade will really like that. Ghosts can be scary.

[Oh dear, Rodger double looks at Bridget. No you did not! The bear pats the kid a couple times, or trying to make it hurt but failing hard. Dang it for being stuffed!]

Hey look! Rodger agrees.

[Shock!Rodger... he just flops over the shoulder. No kid, nononono.]

They're not so bad. They're just restless and frustrated, that's all.

It can be a problem now and then, but before I showed up here, I was in a city where it happened every night. My magic was really useful for protecting against it.

Witches? No. These were called darkness monsters.

I'm not sure skipping school is a good idea...[Says the 15 year old who isn't going to school either.]

I don't know if there are any, but if you can't find anything within the month, there is a place that that takes care of children.

I've been charting it since my first week here.

The Doctor and I keep debatin' pet theories. Is there a consciousness, is it accidental, there's way too much common ground for it to be random, but it's also too guided to be an individual manipulating it.

Only patterns so far -- and mind you that makes the Doctor laugh and call me -- what's that phrase Mirajane uses too? "Abundantly human." That's the nice way they both put it. [Snorts.] Anyway... only patterns near as I can tell is that anyone with a propensity for multiple universe overlap AND friends or family here is more likely. Sort of like a risk factor. The more of them you got, the greater odds. [Shrinks the chart back down.] And so far, that's it.

Oh, but there's a lot of people who should be dead, or would be outside of here and aren't. Also people that have died and come back before. Same as you can do here. AND -- [Chews her bottom lip. What is she forgetting?]

[Something major.]

[Time, timelines, intersections, fixed points, a SHRUG. She doesn't remember.] there are ghosts in Everglade, but they're not that malevolent. I might be biased though. I've been a ghost before, so I usually tried to be more Caspar than his Uncles, yeah?

[CONGRATULATIONS IF YOU FOLLOWED A SINGLE WORD OF THAT. Not even the Doctor always keeps up with Rose.]

Not every night. Only when someone has failed to do their job.

And there are many magic users here, of many different schools. Why do you ask?

You never know in Everglade. You should have a look. Probably the most interesting place here.

I would go to grown up school. Kid school is too easy.

Sure. It's useful, although sometimes they're so happy for someone to talk to that they get weird and oversharey.

I'll check it out. It sounds like my kind of place.

Oh? Are there jobs for dealing with them, then? I'd like to have that job.
