Those of you that have been stuck in other worlds or universes other then this one or your own before and made connections there, do you miss those places? Those connections that you made in those places? Is there anyone that you miss from there at all or not miss? Have others from those places arrived here as well or do you remain alone in this place? Have you gotten used to a place that wasn't your home so much that getting used to a new place or lifestyle is more difficult then you expected?

Sorry for all the questions, I just was wondering about quite a few things lately. Thinking about people I knew that I may never meet again and all that. I know it's depressing I suppose but sometimes I can't help but think about it. Not to say I haven't been moving forward as I most certainly have, but every once in awhile, I can't help but look back just a little bit.

I am so bloody relieved to be out of those places, I don't think anywhere else could be as bad.

And you never get used to settling down after years on the road. And I don't think you should. At least... not really. Settling is just giving up.

I miss... everyone. Yeah? But I couldn't really make connections there. I was basically a ghost. People couldn't even know my name, even when I could talk to them.

So being here brings back a lot of people I lost. Been a year and I'm still not settled though. Never will be. Always gotta keep runnin', me. Like the Energizer Rabbit.

Years on the road? No, not me. I'd barely had any time to get out and about before being thrown into a place and stuck there, but, it's not so much the place as the people that were there that I miss I think. People that became like family to me over the time I was there. People I watched out for and who watched out for me as well.

Yeah, that's normal. Biggest reason I even bothered with Torchwood here.

It's the hardest part of traveling the universe. Not everyone else wants to. Or can.

[On the bright side Jenny, your father in the tie is getting a massive hug now.]

By the way, you do realize we've spoken before, yeah? I suppose you don't remember but we had a brief conversation a back when I was looking for a quiet place to spend some time in.

[Jenny doesn't sound upset about Rose not seeming to remember at the least. Mostly just amused.]

It's been awhile, and it's not as if we talk often, so it's alright. Not everyone has as good of a memory about such things as I do.

[Laughs.] Your memory's really that flawless?

Well, let's just say I'm still working on filling up the space, so for now it's pretty good, yeah.

Filling up the space?

It won't drown out the other memories yanno. Just fight for dominance. You know anything 'bout computers? 's like a hard drive. It deletes and overwrites stuff, but usually the important bits and pieces remain all the same.

Oh, I know that, but I think it might be a while before it gets that far. I really do have a lot of headspace to fill yet.

[Jenny actually laughs.]

No, that was certainly not a blond joke. I was quite serious.

Let's just say I'm not as old as I look so most people have filled up a good portion of their minds by now. I'm still trying to work on that, and you could say a large amount of headspace runs in the family. But don't worry, it's okay if you don't get it. Most people don't.

Most people would pay big money for a problem like that.

Would they? Seems a bit silly to pay money for having basically almost nothing in your head.

Innocence, naivete, as hard as they are to deal with, everyone seems to miss 'em when they're gone.

And like you said, you're missing your adopted family, or just people you were with before. A lot of people go to some desperate lengths to forget and not look back.

It's wrong though. It's always better look back, hold those people close and cherish what time you had, yeah? Even if it hurts, it's just because you want it to last forever.

Not always. There are times where it's better to move forward rather then back. To keep on running straight on and away from the bad or the sadness in your past, while there are others that are good to look back on and just remember even while you try to move forward. That's what I think anyway.

You never stop moving forward. But that doesn't mean you move on. Or forget. Or let them go.

If someone's worth holding onto, then you gotta fight to keep 'em close at hand. There's always a lot that will try to tear them away.

I suppose so. But I'm still unsure I'll have the opportunity to meet them again. We were all from completely different universes. I just want to hope that they're all safe and managing alright even if we're not still together, even if I do miss them.

People act like getting stranded in another universe is so absolute. It's not, yeah? Look around here. Somehow there's even gates to another universe.

Never rule others out. If they're fighters, they'll find a way to you.

Perhaps, but sometimes it gets a bit more complicated then even that.

So many questions. One might think you were digging for people with memories similar to yours.

Yes. I miss those other places. Yes, I miss some of the connections I made. No, it wasn't difficult to adjust.

[For a moment, Jenny almost doesn't respond to Rip's text but can't seem to help herself in the end. As long as Rip was behaving, so would Jenny.]

Perhaps I was. It's more difficult because of how different it is in comparison, and yet it's a refreshing feeling as well. To have something new.

Agreed.

[It's a little surreal that there's something the two might agree on with how often they fought.]

Ah, so then there's three of us now. Think they're all still there or went home? The people from there?

I would bet they went home. Though, my own memories are hazy on whether I went home or went straight to another world.

I know I certainly didn't go back to my universe. I just ended up here. Though....perhaps it's time to try and change that for me. My only experience can't always just be Adstring and this place, you know.

You're thinking of using the dream docks like I did.

[Trust her, it's not that easy and the memories are still jumbled in her head and slowly sorting themselves out.]

I suppose you could say we're both very stubborn pains in the asses, huh?

But that would be admitting that we have more things in common.

I miss the friends I made in the last world I was in. So far I am the only one here from that previous world. Readjusting to yet another world has been difficult as there is less to keep me occupied here.

I can't say there isn't as much to keep me occupied as they are, but adjusting to a situation where I'm not trying to constantly survive makes it more difficult to adjust since I have to find different types of things to occupy my time. I mean, sure, I have a job here and all that and I have family here too, but well, it's hard to explain, though you seem to get the idea of it for the most part.

[The voice that responds is the same as the one others may have heard, days earlier, promising that there was hope. Even if she knows that's not a promise she needs to make or a story she needs to tell anymore, Martha can't...seem to let it go. The young woman's voice has reached inside her the way so many others did on her travels, and the words coming spilling out of her, like a story of hope.

I had a friend, once, who liked to say that where we come from is where we are. She was one of those 'back to the roots' types, you know the sort, or maybe you don't? Anyroads, she meant we weren't British because our grandparents were Africans, and that might not mean anything to you either. Truth, it didn't mean much to me, not the way she said it.

But the thing is, she's not wrong. Where we come from, the places we've been, they're who we are, yeah? Every place, every person, every experience, they're all part of who we are now. To my mind, looking back, that's a way of...reconnecting with yourself, remembering promises you made and things you wanted to do.

I've just been in a terrible place. One it was my job to make sure never really happened. My friends here tell me I did it, and it didn't happen. And that's brilliant. Really. Absolutely brilliant. But it also means there are people, brave, good people and small terrified people, entire groups that no one in any universe will ever have known, except me.

And as terrible as it was... As terrible as it was, there are faces I wish I would see again. One more time, at least, yeah? To thank them for their courage and their sacrifices, and for...well, making me me.

[Jenny was listening honest, but this whole time, she couldn't help but think she recognized that voice on the other end. Yeah, she had heard it before, but where was it....? Wait! Messaline! She remembered it from Messaline. When she was dying...no.....before that too. Wait wait wait! She knew it was! It had been awhile, and she didn't have anything but a voice to go off of but...]

Martha? Is that you?

[That's hardly the reaction she's expecting, but a brings a smile to her face anyhow.]

That's me, Martha Jones. Do we know each other? I'm not placing your voice, sorry.

Hullo?! Hi, yes! I miss people i've met from other worlds! I didn't know traveling worlds was so popular! I mean, I guess I did.

But not like.. before I did it!

[She laughed.]

I think it might depend on what universe your from, but yeah, it can be. Though there are still some universes out there with traveling to other worlds isn't even on their radar yet.

So, wait. Hold. On.

You know about different universes? I mean. Wait. How do you know about that!? How do you go off and travel to other worlds?! Do you have a gummy ship?

[Another laugh.]

Well in this case I seemed to have gotten dragged into them, but back home I would use a space ship. There's all different kinds of ships, but mine is just a little shuttle at the moment.

Oh, right! Great! I bet you and I have probably been to the same worlds! [ He sniffs. ] Where have you been!?

[Considering they live together, I'm assuming they know each other rather well at this point, if it's chill.]

Well, I'm lucky enough for it not to happen until now given my life, but I would miss people from here if I went home, so I imagine I'd miss people if I was somewhere else.

[It takes a second but the voice is quiet. Even if she doesn't know you, Cirno is willing to talk on this!]

...I do miss it sometimes. I met my family there...and someone I care for deeply. But someday I'll either get sent back or go elsewhere I guess.
