Most of the day came and went, and Hana could NOT fall asleep, so she did the next reasonable thing besides feeling lonely and started packing.

.....WITHOUT the microwave. The words of others echoed in her head.

And let's be fair, she didn't have many things. Sure, she had things she picked up on her hunting and gathering trips at her job, but not that much. Just enough to fit into her COOL BACKPACK she got. Still. Where would she go? Definitely Fayren but what would be open to her so immediately? Maybe..someone would know better...

So the young Draconic grabbed her phone and called none other than her good friend in which she was not slightly afraid of; Uai.

Uai? [sniffs from crying but SHE COOL]

Sorry. I-I need a place to live..are there places in Fayren that can take me now? I can't stay here..

[And his concern goes through the roof! Why is she crying? Oh right, home. He tries not to think about that.

Hana isn’t helping.

He waits until she’s done. Then sighs and shakes his head.]

[This answer is that he doesn’t cope. He’s constantly struggling. Always sad to some degree and fighting off loneliness. Any coping mechanisms he has are unhealthy, and he completely recognizes that.

[Well, her dragon form is pretty big. Uai doesn’t know if Hana will fit in any apartment like that.

But she didn’t give names, which worries him. He is certain she could afford her own place down the line, but right now she needs any roof.]

... How do you feel about living in a giant tree for a while?

[Uai can’t help it. In an instant, she takes him from feeling awkward and nervous to giggling freely. He shakes his head, trying to control his laughter.]

No, no. This tree doesn’t talk to anyone, sadly. It’s where I live.

The apartment isn’t huge, so you can’t be a dragon... but you can use my bed. I don’t like sleeping anyway, so it’s always empty anyway.

Yes, the tree is an apartment. It's a magic tree in Fayren. You like Fayren, don't you? The place with all of the mountains and other dragons?

[He doesn't need it? ..Maybe she doesn't need it then. She wondered what would happen if she didn't sleep...

...certainly no more nightmares! And more time for herself! Sure she scolded humans to sleep all the time but Draconics were different. Right?]

Its a great place. I didn't know that you lived there! How much do you want me to pay? I can do anything for you~

I don’t need your money. If I wanted you to pay then trust me, I’d have said that first.

Uai almost tries to send Hana the directions to his place via phone, before he remembers she is a phone eating weirdo.]

[She'll have you know that phones taste really REALLY--]

...Are..you sure?

...[gasps] -Then..we'll be roomates? A roomate! Like a mate! But in a room! And not a mate!

[gg, Hana, but at least she paused]

...Wait. Are you sure, though. And.. if I do turn into my real self, you won't be afraid? You won't..like it any other way..? Or even indifferent..

Ahhh... haha. [kill him] Yeah, I guess we will be... If that’s what you want to call it.

[Confused chirps.]

And, well. It’s just that the apartment is pretty small, so you’ll have to be careful. I don’t want you to accidentally knock over Sakura and Chika.

[He has potted plants named after his kids.

SPEAKING OF COPING MECHANISMS.]

Oh no! I won't knock those two people over, promise! I'm really good at never knocking humans over. I..know I'm too big. I won't turn inside, don't worry..

I know it's pretty weird and dumb. And being a human all the time can be uncomfortable.. [murmur, bumbles, grumbles, growls, all the quiet aboves]

[If only he were there to pinch her silly cheeks. Uai lets her finish, then gives her a reassuring smile.]

Nope! I’m not scared of you at all, so don’t worry. [Though, he finds being a human very comfortable. He is never letting her know that he is a dead dragon.]

You’ll be happy in Fayren. Dragons are normal here. Maybe you can talk to the Guardian about being a diplomat.

[..Okay maybe she was overreacting? Perhaps just staying in Fayren would be most good, she chuckles]

..Yeah, I met a small dragon before. She was really cute-but I startled her. Poor thing..

[lets out sigh of relief, grabbing her backpack and putting it over her shoulder]

What's a Diplomat? Hehe that's a funny word~

Ah, yes. There is another dragon here named Qubine, who I'm sure would be interested to meet you. [It is easier for Uai not to mention they bonded over both being fathers. That would be a headache to explain to his not!lover.]

Diplomats are people who represent peace between two factions. With all of the dragons in the mountains of Fayen, maybe you could help maintain peace. [He's hoping she won't comment on how Uai here prefers to exit his apartment via window, not staircase. So much faster!

He lands and begins the walk to the Genessia archway.] Then you can prove to everyone that you're not scary, hm?

[Hana giggled, finally cheering up, and heading out of the room. This was it]

So there is conflict... [she hummed] To be a diplomat sounds really nice. Is that a job? I mean I like my gathering a-and hunting surprisingly! But if this can give us more peace in Genessia..~

[oh to dream~ Hana purred a little, but she noticed him..going out of the window? Wait-no he can fly. This is fine.]

Quibine..that name is familiar..how many dragons have you met so far?

[More like “he can fall and not die,” but it’s the same idea??? Maybe? No..???

He lands safely regardless and begins the walk to the archway.]

Hm... I only know of two here. Then the ones who roam the mountains. I have met a unicorn, though?

[But he won’t expose her human identity, even to Hana. Maybe “especially” to this Hana, who seems tailor made to hurt him.]

Doesn’t seem to be common here, at any rate.

[Hana turned in her keys and hopped to the archways, now excited!]

A unicorn..what's that? That's super exciting though, I'm glad to know there's lot of kind creatures around in this world and not just humans~~

[she hummed, skipping]

...So why don't you sleep, Uai? That's especially good for a lot of creatures.

Hmm... If you don't know what they are yet, then I won't spoil it for you.

[He's so mean. Also, kind of hoping she'll find out for herself through research. His Hana would probably enjoy the challenge, anyway.]

I don't need it, so why bother? My body isn't physical, but mental. As long as I'm mentally charged, I'm fine. [It's why he's so broken!]

Ah-mm... [Hana squinted, and if she had her tail, she'd flick it]

..Okay. I'll find out. I bet it's going to be great!

[pauses] Its not that..food called 'corn'-or..whatever people call right? That is tasty but not quite exciting..

[..Aaand she got lost momentarily with the gates, but remembered! Hopping towards Fayren's]

..So you're a spirit kind of? Is it common for spirits like you and Shi to be wandering around without a body? I was told that bodies are the anchors~

[pfft,] No. Not 'corn.' Unicorn. When you find out, you'll be excited. Promise.

[He squints at the mention of a spirit Shi... But ultimately shakes his head, not really caring.]

Bodies may be anchors for souls? I'm a bit different. I create this form out of magic, then attach my soul to that magical form. Instead of needing food and rest, I need magic and calm.

[She was excited, Hana wiggled in place and started to see the gates and in turn, Uai]

Magic and calm..how do you obtain magic? Maybe I can get it for you?

...You know. Many have said The Shadow was magic, and we were all made from The Shadow..maybe I have magic to give you? Also hiiiiii!!!

[Hana waved. She loved this...new technology]

[He giggles and waves back at the screen, glad she's having so much fun.]

It might be. Among worlds, "magic" is usually a term given to an energy force that has no other explanation. When something is understood, it generally becomes "science." For example, the creation of fire would have been considered "magic" before humans learned to create it themselves. [tl;drs as he walks.]

[Hana hopped toward him, now shocked, and putting her phone away]

So WAIT! wait wait, wait, wait...

Fire..isn't magic? And humans can create it? Humans aren't made of Darkness or magic and yet? Ohh..

[she gasped, holding her mouth] That's..amazing. Woaah..

[He also puts his phone away, though he's careful not to let her get too close to him.]

That's right. Fire is something humans can create now. They've even developed the technologies to make things fire resistant. [Tag your spoilers, Uai!]

It's the same for electricity, remember? They harnessed the power of lightning to make light bulbs, and to power your old microwave.

[Think fast! Hana laughed out] Uaaaii!!

[and when she sprung at him for a hug-well more like a tackle hug to the ground for how he just welcomed her to a home, Hana flopped to the ground. Legs and back in the air from the impact,

buuuuuuuut the dragon recovered!]

Uwah.. pfft! Bleh..dirt. [She stuck out her tongue and got up] Okay, okay..but lightning was different than fire. Fire is...fire!

[Fire bad]

Fire destroys all...oh dear Shadow..

[Uai thought he was smart to dodge her. Touching him would hurt her--- but so does falling to the ground like that. When he realizes he's hurt her regardless, he hurries over and hovers anxiously.]

A-Auu, Ha-Hana! I'm sorry! I-I'm so sorry! Are you hurt? Forget the fire for a second--- D-Did you eat dirt? Dammit, did I literally make you eat dirt? Do you need water? Wh-Where does it hurt?!

[Excuse him as he behaves like Shi.]

[Hana muttered] Never forget the fire...[grumble bumble, but she gets up, a little surprised]

..Uh-wait, wait, slow down, it's okay..! You're okay~ [she cooed, but spat some dirt out to the side]

You did, but that is okay, it is also my fault. Perhaps I should not lounge at people for hugs hehehe~ [she continued wiping off the dirt, humming]

...I don't have hurt. Are you hurt? You look.. surprised? [blinks innocently, why was he acting this way?] If you didn't want to be hugged then it's okay. I deserved that. It's just dirt, silly.

What? NO! I want you to hug m--- [Uai clamps his mouth shut. Those are dangerous words to yell at a Hana.]

... I'm dangerous. Touching me is dangerous. I'm not hurt, but! [sigh!] Are you okay? Really okay? Let's get your face washed up...

What was th- [DID YOU JUST SAY HER WORD? SHE THOUGHT SHE HEARD IT]

Oh-hehehe I'm really really really okay, truly! Next time, I'll float, I promise. You don't need to worry.

[Hana gathers her things, waiting for Uai to lead the way] Why is touching you dangerous? Are you like a porcupine? [shivers] Or...one of those fishies...

Fish are mean..

[MOUTH.

SHUT.

NOPE. Not stepping on that land mine!]

I just am. Like a porcupine, sure. [If he has to explain in detail, he might let it slip that he knows her... or that he left her. Straight up abandoned her, really. What if that makes her mad? Uai always says that he wishes Hana would hate him and move on, but it's never true. He would die just hearing an alternate say she disliked him slightly.]

Or... those poison frogs. Just don't touch me and it won't matter. [He offers a hand, regardless.] I won't hurt your belongings, though. Need me to carry something?

[Hana stated] I don't have much, it's okay. I..wish I could hug you, but perhaps I'll just keep giving you gifts and favors in response.

[she nodded] Because even the porcupines and those beautiful frogs were friendly..there are always ways to be kind and show love~

[Uuuugh she's so cute. He's going to actually die from kindness.]

You don't have to do all of that. Just the company is enough... [No no nooo. He cuts himself off and begins leading the way in a hurry.] Anyway! Let's get moving. I'll need to get you a spare key.

[Hana persisted and followed Uai] Welcoming someone into you home is a big thing, its like you're now a shared family. You look out for each other.
