Have you ever had a situation that was exacerbated by ignorance, and that more information might've helped? If you went through with revealing the truth or enlightening people, did it work, or backfire? What would you have done differently if you could?

Truths, sadly, are often up for debate, especially if there are some with a vested interest in lies or conveniences the truth would mar.

Having an IQ that low, and having it publicly said is usually an insult. Even if it wasn't intended that way, it'd still be bad manners, and thus not worth saying, no matter how factual.

Not quite; that was all but one example of an instance where a truth could cause harm with no upside, ergo it wouldn't be worth saying.

I'm afraid I haven't advanced to the point of action; I'd still like examples of disruptive truths and how others handled their deployment.

So if people lose their minds and enact violence after hearing the truth, your response would be more of the same? Wouldn't that spell disaster for whomever they harm? Wouldn't that be especially bad if their harm was permanent, as it so often is?

Besides, we've been through this. Yes, one is not directly responsible for others' actions. However, if they can be reasonably foreseen, one should take care not to provoke unnecessary harm.

After all, the others of actions is the whole point. See the initial post. I wouldn't be doing it simply to fulfill curiosity, but to enact change. What sort of change is likely is very, very relevant.
