FAMILY THINGS / Catch-all before the Beach Party

[Since Espio's arrival on the 3rd, Marco has been unwilling to put the chameleon down or let him out of his sight. Even worse than he gets with Thatch and Ace. After all, he might have trouble holding onto them, but he can usually FIND THEM again, Espio, on the other hand, was in a place Marco had troubles going, and almost no way to pull Espio out. So he'll be damned if he doesn't throw his all into keeping Espio here as long as he can. Probably at the expense of everyone's sanity including his own, however. Someone stage an intervention.]

[Around Attleton, Marco takes his best friend and baby bro to see the sights.]

So I burned down the building I owned, and you'd have been proud of everyone else. They threw a fit, and deposed me from being a deputy. And now it's a rose garden in Kitten's honor. [Hence the fucking skulls and bloody swords. :|] Turnip farms probably make better sense in Fayren though, yoi.

[The one time Marco lets go of Espio and actually flits away, is to go do illegal shit that Espio would give him a hard time over. As you do. Besides he's hoping Ikki and Leanne can distract him with justice shit so he can go be a pirate okay.]

The problem is that I don't really know his diet, if there's anything he can't eat or doesn't like. I only know that he likes turnip and sweets, that's not much to go about.

[He sighs and looks at her eyeing those cookies and cake.]

No touching any of this food until he tries it.

That is all the Marco also told me. Perhaps once he tries these food, you can ask him to elaborate some more.

[Erk! She was caught!]

I know, I know. I am not like Ace or Marco. I do have some self-restraint when it comes to food.

[A brief pause.]

But if he show up and try some soon, I can't promise about that cake.

That's plan, I tried to prepare things with different ingredients and just the turnip as common element, to cover all bases. There's even a dish with meat in case he can eat that.

[Which he isn't sure of, since Espio is a chameleon and all. Ikki can't help but chuckle as she tries to cover for herself before leaning to give a small kiss on her nose and moving away from the table and towards the icebox.]

Well, if you think you can't resist I suppose you could eat some of that...

[He takes out a tart with a top layer of peppermint leaves and a delicious aroma of chocolate.]

Instead of this peppermint white chocolate tart that I preprared just for you.

You should probably give him a heads up which one has the meat in it just in case he can't.

[She is so proud of her husband for going out of his way for the new family member. Her wings perk up and she lets out some happy chirps at the kiss on her nose.

She blinks as he walks over to the icebox and lets out a loud gasp at the tart he pulls out.]

My love! It looks absolutely divine! I should make a tea mixture and we can share it.

I will tell him what everything has before he tries it, unless he tells me right away what he can't eat if any.

[He allows himself a proud smile at her reaction to the tart.]

Whatever you want to do, my queen. This one was made just for you.

Good, but I will stay close in case my Galdrars are needed because of his stubbornness.

[Okay, feeling giddy because Ikki made something with her in mind but also because of that smile.]

A more bitter tea will go great with it don't you think so, my love?

[She was so happy right now.]

[Okay, time to put on her apron as she goes to her stash of tea ingredients. She goes to pull out some rose buds and lavender along with some other herbs. She places them in a cloth before tying it and placing it in a teapot. She glances over towards Ikki, blushing and smiling as she fills it with water and places it on the stove to start boiling the water.]

There, it should be ready in a few minutes.

Stubbornness? Do you know him already?

[He chuckles as he places the tart on the table, still feeling weird when she calls him "her king". He really isn't made for that but so long as she's happy he will just go with her.]

As you wish, it will be a honour and pleasure to share it with you.

[He leans back against the table, arms crossed as he observes her prepare the tea, he loves it when she joins him in the kitchen even just for this. It's probably not fitting for a queen but he can't help to enjoy the sight of her in an apron preparing a teapot for just the two of them.]

Well, Marco likes him and adopted him so there is a high chance he is that. Just look at how quickly he adopted us.

[A soft chuckle and a wink.]

I believe the honor and pleasure would be all mine.

[She couldn't help but to blush even more as she feels him observing her. It was true that it wasn't fitting for a queen but, she loved it. She loved the simple things. It made her feel more like a loving wife to Ikki, spending time with him like this. She opens the cupboard to fetch two tea cups and sets them down on the table, leaning over to steal a kiss before heading back to the teapot. Another visit to her stash as she pulls out a few flowers, trotting back to place them on the bottom of each cup. Time to steal another kiss before finally going to fetch the teapot itself and bring it to the table.]

For you first, darling~

[And she carefully pours his cup first, handing it to him before pouring her own cup.]

I shall pray it will pair with the tart you made perfectly.

Are you trying to insinuate something?

[Just teasing, he's well aware that stubbornness is quite a shared trait between them all. It's a miracle they can get along.

His smile grows and his gaze gets more loving as she steals kisses as she busies herself, finding himself more and more charmed with her. How could he ever think that he could live without any of this? Even just seeing her besides him is like a dream. He makes sure to place two slices of the tart as she brings the teapot and pours a cup for him.]

I'm sure it will, you made it after all.

[He places a slice of the tart in front of her and sits, waiting for her to taste it first, mostly because he already knows how it tastes.]

[She teases right back. She is just as stubborn as the rest of them.

A shy smile forms as his gaze becomes more loving. This small moment and simple life. What could be more desirable than this? This was a part of the perfect for her, all that was missing were nestlings playing by their feet.]

But my tea making isn't as good as your cooking skills.

[She moves to sit down, not bothering to take off her apron just yet. She still has the shy smile as she goes to take a small forkful of the tart. A moment after she puts the forkful into her mouth, she lifts a hand to her face and let her ears wiggle.]

It is as divine as it looks, Darling!

My cooking skills aren't that good, Sanji was a great teacher but I still have a lot of work to do to be even a quarter as good. Though so far, as long as no one gets food poisoned I feel satisfied.

Your tea skills are far better incomparition.

[He waits patiently as she takes a small forkful though even before she speaks he can tell that she likes it with the way her ears wiggle.]

Glad you like it, I admit I wasn't too sure about the combination of peppermint and chocolate.

[He takes a small sip of the tea, tasting it before the tart and smiling as he does so.]

Yes, I think this tea will go along well with the tart.

They are far better than mine. I just know how to bake a cake, a Serenes desert and maybe a broth.

[She giggles before holding up a finger.]

How about this? Our skills in the kitchen are a equal match. We can prove it with this delight.

[Before, it would have been a little embarrassing for him to see her ear wiggle. But now, she doesn't mind it.]

It is perfect, I think. You get both richness and refreshment in a single bite.

[But then she watches and at his words, her ears goes to wiggle even moreso.]

It fills my heart with joy to hear that!

[So many happy wiggles as she goes to take a sip of the tea, beaming a little with pride.]

It is the perfect match.

You would know more if Sanji had taught you, or if you had had to cook since a young age. By the time Shun was born and my mother died I already knew my way around the kitchen even if poorly.

[He simply hums at her attempt to reach a middle ground for the argument about who has better skills. It's certainly an idea he can't really argue with, so he settles with just finally digging into his own slice of tart.

He smiles as she tastes the tea as well before shaking his head.]

Not at all, it's a good match but not perfect. It's the company what makes it perfect.

Sanji was the one who taught me how to make the cake. Serenes wasn't exactly the best teacher on how to cook.

[A soft giggle and nods her head. Ikki will always have the one up with her in the kitchen.]

Aye, I can't argue with that, my love. But I wonder what would make it better.

[She then goes to let out a long sigh as she gains a wistful expression before it turns into a loving one, taking another bite of the tart.]

I meant "if Sanji had taught you more". I would have been surprised if the cake came from a bunch of trees, no matter how ancient and magical they were.

[Unless it was a cake of leaves and twigs, which wouldn't be very edible.]

I wonder... I suppose it may be something only time will show us.

[He focuses his attention on the tart for a moment before looking at her.]

By the way, were you able to find a swimsuit you would agree to wear? Marco really wants us all to go to that beach party, seems Namur's birthday falls around that date.

They would have lacked the care and the... ability to make a cake. I just didn't want to bother him too much, you know. He always had a lot on his mind and on his plate so to speak. I was just happy tat he taught me that cake recipe so I could make you a birthday cake.

[She smiles before cooing a little bit.]

I guess now I have a new goal. To make the perfect tea to go with your tart.

[She goes to enjoy another piece before blinking at his question. She looks away and shakes her head.]

No, I haven't. Big Sissy believed she found the perfect one for me but I am still naked. Or at least... My legs are completely out for all to see.

[A small blush appears on her face.]

It was dark blue and had ruffles. I know he does, he has been asking me to convince you to go. [A small sigh as she goes to sip her tea.] I am still trying to find a good gift for brother Namur.

[Was Ace still there? The Ace that was in Genessia left before Ikki could do much and he hopes that it was to be sent to another world and not just to be sent back to his own. After all, there was nothing for Ace left in his own world.

He's not surprised to hear a negative answer, or that her legs would be naked in the one they had seen. After all he doubts that even in Everglade there are many stores for ancient-like swimsuits. He takes a sip considering his next words.]

Why don't you just wear stockings? With the swimsuit I mean, that way your legs would be covered even if not hidden. I'm not sure we would be able to find a swimsuit like the one Harley found for you, and I won't go to the party unless you go.

I pray that it has... More people seemed to have moved in the last time I remembered.

[She watches Ikki closely, sensing his worries and goes at once to start cooing softly at him. It's okay, everything will be okay. It is Ace after all.

She tilts her head and ponders a moment.]

[She smiles and chuckles a little.]

I don't think we can find one like Harley made for me. Darling... Do you want to go? If you do, I can try and put more of an effort into wearing a swimsuit, my love.

Sometimes I miss being able to bend things, if only because that way there would be no issue bringing more people here.

[It is Ace, indeed, and that's probably why Ikki worries. He's not worried for Ace's safety per say, just for where he is, so long as he's alive he may be in hell and he would still manage to be safe and move forward. It's the idea of him being nowhere which bothers the phoenix, because who knows if Marco's world has an afterlife, for all they know there may be nothing like it.]

There are stockings that reach to your waist, you could put them and then the swimsuit so they can't slip down even if they get wet.

[At her question he can't help but sigh.]

I... Don't particularly care to be honest. I don't like parties so my initial reaction is to not go, but I wouldn't die if we go.

Marco said there'll be some singing event, I thought you would like to go to that.

Yes, more people so I m sure that they are fine even if we are not there.

[That had to be one of the hardest things to say. She can only pray though it is the truth.

She continues to coo, trying to soothe Ikki's worries before chuckling.]

I miss it too. If only because my ability to use my cosmos seemed to disappear here.

[She blinks at his words and goes to slowly nod her head.]

[At his answer, she couldn't help but to chuckle a little.]

Somehow, I knew that would have been your answer. I have gotten used to going to parties and brother Marco really wants us to go...

[She goes to let out a long suffering sigh.]

Perhaps we should only go briefly, just long enough to say that we went. Then we can either come home or do something just the two of us.

That could be fun to go and listen to but, not part take in. There are multiple people out there who are more talented than I and my style as one person said, is old fashion.

They would be fine even without more people, if anything more people may actually make it worse.

[He offers a smile in return to her cooing, to show that he's fine. He knows that worrying about Ace is like worrying about Seiya at the moment, pretty pointless, which is why he tries to not think of it too much. Though maybe he should try to think a bit more, he hasn't even bothered to talk to Dohko in a long while, satisfied with just sensing the older Saint's Cosmo.]

[He doubts it but her phrasing made him wonder.]

[He frowns a little, he had expected her to know the answer, mostly because as Marco had said the galdrs were one thing and singing was another. But it seems Ikki was right to be doubtful.]

I wouldn't doubt that she will do that. But she will help keep everyone safe. And try to keep them level headed.

[She blinks and smiles, with a soft nod.]
