Putting a sign on your dear pooch will rattle the rabble-rousers around here. The last thing you want is someone claiming it's animal abuse.

What you should do is take a picture of her and use her in your advertising or maybe make a logo featuring her image.

I don't have helmets for them though. I wonder if they make bike goggles that would even fit.

I don't put helmets on them when I'm driving, but only because of my smoke powers. I don't want to set bad examples for anyone else.

If that's the case, then you ought to commission someone to make doggie helmets but I have no idea who.

Heh. Sorry. One's my daughter's, Ash. The one I call Bear. Sami I got at the same time as hers. They've both gotten huge over the last few years. And Sami is too smart for her own good. Neither of them like the heat, but if I don't keep everything they like on the very top shelves, they find a way to team up and climb up there when I'm not looking.

I guess I could ask around. Or... make them myself. That might even help replace some of the lost interest, right?

[Times like this make him miss Einstein. It's good to see the pups in such high spirits.]

They're sweet-looking dogs. Did you adopt them here?

Yeah.

My ex and daughter teamed up on me and I could never say no enough to either of them. Luckily they're good. Know when to shut up more than humans, and better at conserving energy than either of their humans.

They're always faithful companions.

Do they like to swim?

I have no idea, actually.

I can't swim myself, so I've never taken them to try.

Have you ever wanted to learn? I'm not sure where to find a swimming facility around here, but the essential basics can be learned in an afternoon or two.

Then maybe they could splash about in a wading pool? My dog hated bathtime, but I could sometimes trick him under a fountain.

[Laughs.] Luckily they aren't too hard to wash, they just hate flowery soaps, can't blame them there. But yeah maybe. Though I don't relish trying to get them out of the water after that.

A treat usually works as a bribe. It's just keeping them from splashing you that's the difficult part.

Luckily I won't melt. Just can't even move an arm under water. Usually if I gotta wash them, I just use the same equipment I clean the bikes with.

Bacon soup, eh? I'll keep that in mind. Any wisdom to offer on getting an animal to like you? One I know of one who runs more misanthropic than most.

Animals are like people. Some are just assholes. [LIKE SMOKER HIMSELF.]

Best you can do is take it easy and let it come to you. It's a dog though, right? Not a wild whatever? Just provide water and food, a place for it to sit dry if it's raining, and it'll either take a liking to you or never will. Some people are just like that.

What sad sooth. I'd have thought all members of "man's best friends" could come to friendliness, if they just had the right...something.

Heh, I've no idea the extent of his domestication. Nothing substantial, I figure. He was very surly.

Do dogs dislike the rain? I thought they were wont to play in it.

It's also possible he's been abused. Like I said, same as people. They have reasons to distrust too.

Nah, I mean in this weather, they might. But usually no. You ever try sleeping in the rain? It's not comfortable.
