Yo, I've been in a foul mood for a few days now, and I need to blow off some steam. I don't have anything pressing Saturday, so I'm taking all comers on then. For now, Goku, if you're free, I owe you a sparring match.
[He shoots that message first before going to voice. His voice sounds hoarse.]
He blames himself when the number one Hero was forced to retire. [A sigh.] He was kidnapped by the League of Villains to join them. The number one Hero joined the mission along with other heroes to get him back.
[He really wouldn't care. It's hard to troll him. He already has to deal with enough people back home.]
Whether you like it or not, his quirk is meant to either deliver or receive damages, being in the front of the battle The Villains saw his destructive power and emotions as you did, thought the same when they abducted him.
This kid doesn't plan to back down. But, it's probably like you said. He will want to get stronger, and will probably do what he can to prevent something like that from happening again, even if it means fighting alone.
[As he exhales, he coughs up a little. Damn water mage. He clears his throat.]
It's not his power I have issues with. My own abilities are only suited to beating people down. It's his attitude I take issue with.
[There's a sigh followed by the sound of chugging booze.]
Remember how I brought up my brother at the skate park? Well, a bit of background. When we were kids, my twin brother and I didn't know our old man. Just the legends. "The Legendary Dark Knight". A demon who betrayed a demon emperor to save mankind. To humans, he was a savior. Some even took it literally and formed a cult around the legends of the "savior."
To demons... well let's just say there's never been a more hated being. As such, the demons that did get through the loopholes between worlds were always looking to kill Sparda - our father - and get rewarded by the betrayed Emperor. But, with Sparda gone, all that was left was his wife and kids.
My brother and I had to run while our mother was torn apart by a band of demons. Afterward, my brother blamed himself for not being able to fight the demons. He was convinced that if only he were stronger, things would've been different. He became obsessed with that notion, lusting after the power talked about in the legends of Sparda.
And then, he vanished. A year later, a giant tower erupted from beneath a densely populated city, and the armies of the seven hells poured out and slaughtered everyone, with my brother standing atop the tower.
I remember clear as day what he said to me at the top of the tower. "Might controls everything. And without strength, you cannot protect anything. Not even yourself."
Bakugo is walking that same path, and at the end of it lies a mountain of corpses.
[He listens carefully, clearing his throat afterwards. Not like he's coming down with something.]
I'm sorry for your loss and suffering. Even with such events like that, it evolves us for better or worst.
[Sighs following a cough.]
But I can see why you take the necessary steps. The only difference between your story and my student, your brother didn't have any guidance back then. Even adults, it's our job to make sure students learn from examples and mistakes, and hope the path they chose was the correct one.
My world may not have demon apocalypse other world thing, but children these days go villain even for the most stupidest reasons. Like discrimination with quirks. You see someone with a mind control quirk and quickly it's judge as a villain quirk.
Hell, I thought my quirk was worthless until I used it with other methods like hand combats and got a custom capture scarf made. Then there's some side effects to the quirk I have to deal and work around it.
Look, the only "guidance" I know how to do is the bad cop kind. I didn't have anyone looking after me either, and I made some really stupid decisions because of it.
I do care about him. I see a lot of myself and of Vergil in him. I don't think I could live with myself if I just up and vanished. My biggest suggestion right now though? Let him come at me. Take him off the leash and let him hit me as hard as he can until he can't hit anymore. I can take it.
Exhaustion is a good way to force working through mental issues like anger management I've found...
He's been off the leash, he just hasn't taken the bait. Either he's that stubborn or someone else told him otherwise. Honestly, I'm surprised he survived that long before he tried to blow your face.

[He goes quiet so Dante can soak that much in.]

So let me guess, he's overcompensating in some misguided effort to be "stronger" so as to never have that shit happen again?
Yeah sorry, but that's not exactly helping his case...

Probably Satou. She was very adamant we don't fight because something something fighting's bad something.
