Now that Dray had left Faye in charge of his studio, she had a lot of serious work to do. She knew there was always the possibility he would return, and of course she hoped so - she could probably count on one hand the number of people who might consider her a real friend - but there was something in his leaving instructions that suggested he might be gone for some time, if not always.

A) At Dray's Studio - Fayren

Faye could be found during the afternoons at Dray's old studio, rearranging, tidying, putting things in order. She had also put out various flyers and advertisements for the space, so if anyone was looking for a little shop or studio, this place was ideal, so she was looking to rent it out. Dressed like the finest of secretaries - smart and attractive - Faye would be at the studio waiting to address anyone coming to see his art, or anyone wanting to take the space.

B) Fayren and Nova Wandering

After a day at work, Faye would hit up a bar somewhere, either in Fayren or closer to home in Nova. After a day off, Faye could be found doing the exact same, only in her casual clothes. She'll sit up at the bar, or perhaps at a table in the middle of the room - not hiding in corners as she usually would. In fact, she seems to look up and around her a lot more than usual, like she might actually be an approachable person. Sure, the advice she had lately was from an anon, but she was fed up by now of being accused of being lonely, so here she is. Find her ordering a drink, or gazing around, or frowning as she flicks through her phone, apparently trying to find something in particular.

*Who is this sharp woman with a clipboard? How businesslike! How professional! Faye clears her throat then looks down at the clipboard and begins to read in a firm but clear manner*

Currently accepting proposals for the use of a studio space. Studio is fit for purpose as a shop or showroom, but there are many possibilities, and suggestions are welcome.

*The announcement is finished with a flick of her eyes towards the camera again, and a small nod. Seriously, all she is missing is glasses to push up her nose*

It's going okay. I think. I got everything in order, just need to find someone to use the space. I'm sure people will come along, eventually.

*Faye glances down at herself, a little embarrassed as she fidgets with the clipboard*

I'm actually still working there... At least until maybe I can make enough money doing other things...

Ah, then I'll visit you one day. What kind of things would you like to do?

*Faye just shakes her head slowly at that - she doesn't have an answer*

I don't know. Something different. Something with guaranteed pay? There are so many damn bounty hunters round here that I can't rely on that to make a living all the time, you know?

Any kind of job can give you money, but to be happy you should find one that you really enjoy. And yes, there's almost more bounty hunters than people to hunt.

Besides, I'm getting old. Getting old, and I can't fly a ship around here. So might as well find something steady and live the boring life, huh?

You're not old. You're not even fifty...But I miss flying spaceships too, I know how frustrating it is. You could do races with hover cars.

[Aizawa had the rest of the day off from work, so it was time to chill at a bar. He ended up at Nova City's bar, for his own reasons, wearing something a little better.

Then he spots Faye.]

Hey. Mind if I sit?

[Even his hair is clean.]

*They were definitely both looking much better than the last time they met, but as Faye looks up at time when he approaches, she does allow herself a few seconds just to look at him*

Hey. Sure. Be my guest.

*She gestures at the space next to her and smiles at him, inviting*

[He didn't know many people to drink, except for Dante, but that's different. He grabs a seat next to her and orders his drink. If there's a celery stick on the table ordered, he will take one.]

[And now he has a celery stick for a cigar in his mouth.]

How you been holding up?

*Faye takes a sip at her drink and glances down at her business/secretary outfit (though different from the one she wore on her drowning day)*

Busy, actually. Surprisingly busy. But I guess it's a good thing - keeps me out of trouble. How about you? No more drownings?

I'm taking a break from bounty mages. [It sent him a cold!] Made me kinda wish I hunted down boring mages like that vegetable golem.

[Well, she doesn't look bad at all. Don't mind Aizawa scanning her from top to bottom while nibbling his stick.]

Busy is good. Are you in some kind of business or something?

Yeah, that's a good idea. Though at least maybe next time I won't get in your way.

*To which she actually looks pretty apologetic for everything. Is he - is he checking her out? I mean, she is really used to that from men, but excuse her if she blushes a little*

Hmm. Kinda. Not really. A friend left and put me in charge of his studio. I want to look after it for him and put it to good use but... I don't think business is really my thing...

That would help.

[He shrugs when his drink finally arrives. Sorry Faye, he's telling it how it is, even if she did help out. He takes a swing of the cold beer.

...And why is she flustering?]

Hm? [A friend left. That raises some questions. That catches his attention at the moment.] Did he know he was about to leave or something?

Well, geez. And here I thought heroes were supposed to want to help poor innocent bystanders.

*She gives him a pointed look before drinking more from her glass, now almost empty*

Yeah. He left for the Dream Docks but left notes before he went. Guess he figures he might be gone some time, or that maybe he won't come back at all.

[ Have a droid tilting her head dome this way and that as she inspects the showroom in view behind Faye. ]

That place you are in, is that the studio you are letting? Would you be renting single rooms or smaller spaces maybe?

*Faye just blinks at the robot, trying to decide if it's the kind that has thoughts and can speak, or just some machine. But when it speaks, Faye attempts a smile again*

Yes, that's right. You would like to rent a smaller space? I suppose that could be possible... What would you be interested in using it for?

I've been thinking of offering my services to other droids. I tinker, have been rebuilding and repairing myself for years. Nova City has a lot of robots who would profit from having someone like me work on them.

...their designs are boring and they show no personality.

There's enough robots and metal people and stuff to keep that up as a business you think?

In Nova City, yes. The question is just, how many of them are actually paid workers who can afford to pay for their own repairs? I heard the Mayor ruled that all sentient robots have to be paid but I'm still skeptical.

But I want to try it. I think it would be good for robots to have the choice of going to another droid for maintenance, not just to the companies which produced them.

Thank you! Sounds like a plan. I have a job, I can pay the rent for the first month in advance as long as it's nothing outlandish. And then I'll just have to see where to go from there.
