Stepping into the area that is presided over by the Nature Mage, you will feel a different type of atmosphere. It’s almost as if the air is being charged by something. It feels different in some type of way. Explore and roam to forest to your heart’s content. But beware of the ‘creatures’ that are roaming in the forest. However, should any creature attempt to leave the zone with the altered atmosphere, they will poof into leaves.

The Mage has created and named each one that is under her command. Leaf Knights with their razor sharp leaf weapons. Shrubbeasts, coming in three different types. Vine Stalker that lurks and blends into the surrounding before it pounces. Grass wolves, running in packs of at least 5 to tear down any intruders. Vine Skeletons that patrol the area, sometimes with the Leaf Knights. An Vinemares, sometimes roaming on their own but sometimes the steed of the Leaf Knights and Vine Skeletons. Hulking power houses the Floral Rhinos.

There are Guardian 'Creatures' roaming around that a select few might encounter. The Spiked Dragon, the Vine Horror and the Grass Dragon.

[Being someone whose apartment borders the forest, and whose friends frequently visit it, Uai wasn't pleased to read about this takeover. The fact it was so out of control that a bounty went up finally tipped the scales: He didn't particularly want to take bounties, but this would be an exception.

So he's among those who are fighting the more common threats.]

A. Arriving
[Before jumping into the forest, Uai figures he should study what he's up against. Also, check who might fight alongside him. He's at the border without any visible weapons, peering curiously between the trees. When he notices he isn't alone, he turns to the nearby stranger:]

I don't see anything yet... What about you? Can you sense things?

B. Random Encounters
[Uai ends up guarding the edge of the forest, deciding to make sure the magic doesn't expand and threaten civilians. As much as he wants to go deeper in, he does have his hands full: With the grass wolves coming in packs of 5, the leaf knights and vine skeletons roaming about, and Uai himself only being one person, he can't get far.

Well, maybe he could if he wasn't being so conservative with his magic. Uai doesn't want to do anything like stop time or manipulate space unless it's absolutely necessary. Of course, an extra pair of hands would be a welcome help too. Though he doesn't appear to be in any major danger, he's clearly swamped with a wave of encounters that never seems to end. Maybe lend a hand?]

*When Selphie arrives on the scene it's clear that there's a lot going on here. It's been a while since she's been any kind of offensive lile this, and she's actually kinda having fun! But things are getting thicker faster, including that bunch of weird skeletons that seem to be heading for someone*

No you don't, you grassy creeps!

*They're soon gone in a blast of fire, and Selphie runs over to assess the damage*

[Likewise, Uai isn't necessarily upset at this chance to practice his magic. He's even using his rapier with Selphie arrives, mixing his defensive spell casting with quick stabs to gradually pick away at the skeletons. What doesn't show, thankfully, is how his broken soul enjoys this far too much: Uai is lucky to have recovered enough not to appear as violently entertained as he is.

When the blast of fire wipes away the wave headed towards him, Uai is able to focus on the targets ahead of him and quickly finish them off with his own fire magic.]

Thank you, miss. [He's curt in his reply: They don't have time for pleasantries when the forest is literally attacking them.] Take it you're not here on accident?

*Selphie nods at his thanks - they can do that and proper introductions later*

Nope - I'm here to help -

*She pauses to use her nunchucks to knock down another pesky creature that seems to have randomly appeared*

- before they ruin someone else's romantic stroll!

*Selphie takes a breath and scans the area, listening carefully too, definitely someone who is used to this kind of combat*

Where are they coming from anyway? Who made them so mad?

[She definitely knows what she's doing, so Uai has no problem accepting her help. Especially since they have such a similar goal: They just want this forest to be safer.]

Some sort of bounty was issued here. Apparently it's a Nature Spell gone out of control---

[Uai has to turn his attention away to clip a wolf pack with five quick spells, causing them to burst into piles of leaves. It's annoying and while he's masking his glitched soul, he can't hide the irritance about being interrupted.]

If I had some time to focus, I was hoping to figure out a counter-spell. [But clearly, that isn't going to happen.]

*Selphie pulls a face at that information and shakes her head - tsk tsk, it's not good to use spells that you can't control*

A counter spell? I could help out here and give you some time to fiure one out, if that helps.

*Though it's pretty dangerous here. Selphie watches the vine horse come closer, admiring it for a moment*

They're so beautiful... It's such a shame. But if it's gonna run at me -

*As the horse started to charge, Selphie set it crumbling in flames*

That would be helpful.

[Though, it's still not a guarantee that he'll learn enough to reverse the spell. His magic is a tricky art and he can't afford to make a mistake around Selphie.]

I need to learn more about where they're coming from: If they're created to fill in defense gaps, or if they were all spawned at some central location before wandering here. [Might as be honest with her, in case she's seen anything.

The sight of the vine horse charging them briefly puts him on edge, but Selphie has it handled before he can act.] I hope none of these creatures have souls.

*Selphie nods as he explains, still in her battle stance and ready for any action when needed*

Guess maybe we should walk further in and see what we can find?

*She glances at him and tilts her head as she makes the suggestion*

Between the two of us, I'm sure we can manage...

*At the mention of souls, Selphie's shoulders droop a little - she hadn't thought of that*

Nah! They can't be! They're just twigs and stuff in the shapes of things, right? Just stuff you'd light a fire with!

[Allen figured why not give a bounty a try. It was similar to him hunting Heartless when he was working and had the spare time, the only difference being you don't get money every time you took care of it. It was just a one-off payment, but that was perfectly fine for the young man.

When he stood at the edge, it looked as if he didn't have any form of weapon at all.]
