 [ Haruhi fiddles with the clear phone in her hand, observing it completely off guard as she does not know it's recording. Her hair is wet due to her slightly slip in The Bay earlier. ]

How do I even work this...? Did I break it? I bet it totally broke...

[ She experimentally presses on the screen before she blinks. ]

Oh! It's recording? 

[ How embarrassing. Haruhi sighs. Well, she minus well introduce herself to the...internet? Could you even call it the internet at this point? Maybe. ]

Hello there! I'm Haruhi Fujioka. I sort of understand what is going on but I also don't. I just arrived in this Genessia City place though I really have no idea where I'm going or what I'm doing.

[ Haruhi turns to camera to show off her current location. ]

Well you appear to be standing still, so I'd wager you don't mean to go anywhere just yet. A very calm, sagacious mode to live. And you're operating the phone well enough, with an intent to contact the network. I'd say you've achieved both your well-known aims admirably.

Well, everything was explained to me mostly well by the information lady. Though, I've just never had the ability to just..freely roam around before.

[ She...didn't get out much. ]

You wouldn't happen to know what to do around here, would you? And maybe even a reason as to why I'm here too if you have one.

Ahh, seems your life here is bound to be more fun than before. As for what to do...goodness, what isn't there to do? Singing and working and playing and worship and sightseeing and meeting all the other odd people from across the universe, not to mention...

...work is where most start. Unless you're too young for that? We've good schools too if so.

As for a raison d'etre: Love God, then love others as yourself. That'll set you right no matter where you are. More parochially, Genessia is interested in you demonstrating what it "truly means to be alive." I know that's vague, but it wasn't explained to anyone any clearer, to my knowledge.

You all wouldn't happen to have...law schools, would you?

[ She would probably not be allowed in considering that she is too young for any colleges but she is still curious. Maybe she can complete her education here. No host club to distract her this time thought it isn't like she is not good at multitasking.

She raises an eyebrow at the guy's next statement. ]

What it truly means to be alive, huh? Don't tell me they're gonna make us do some daredevil stuff to make us appreciate our lives or something of the sort.

Certainly; everything under the sun! We may even have a lawyer or two skulking about, though I try to keep out of their company on principle. I can refer you to a good Academy, if you like. Thought it's so many stories tall you really can't miss it.

Haha, no, bringing us forth is as compulsory as the world gets. Would defeat the purpose if they made us do it; I rather think our own initiative and novelty's the point.

I started by getting offered a place to stay, but if that doesn't happen for you there is the Commons place that will let you stay there for a month. So you might want to go there first and dry off.

[ Only a month, huh. Guess she will have to find a job ASAP then. Hopefully it's something that pays well. She'll have to check. ]

Um...sort of? I didn't get paid, though. The only paying that ever happened was me paying off a debt...

[Help is on the way in the form of probably one of the least helpful people. Well...at least he wouldn't be on the top of that list. Kaoru appeared on the feed, surprised more than anything, but that soon changed to a wide grin.]

Haruhi~! I never expected you to show up first. I assume you are at the Bay or did you move to explore the world?

[ What an interesting but welcome surprise! She wonders how long he has been here... ]

I'm exploring at the moment. Sort of. I haven't really moved much. Mostly just looking for a place to dry off.

I am. Been here just over a month.

[Guess whose having to be learning various new things because of it?]

Oh! I actually have clothes that might fit you at work. I'll meet you near the Bay then take you there.

[ It...would probably be best to just to question it later, huh? She was sure there was some sort of explanation to it. For now, Haruhi just sighs in relief at the idea of clean clothes. ]

Ah, you seem confused. I guess you had no idea, right?

[He nodded slightly. He at least knew the way and he knew he probably had to at least catch one bus, which was always a rather fun adventure.]

Give about ten minutes or so. The city is huge and since I don't drive and can't afford a Chauffeur, I need to take the bus.

Hi! I'm Bulla Brief. I can try to answer some of your questions, if you'd like. I've only been here for about a month, though, so I'm not an expert. Just someone who's had a little time to get adjusted to being here.

Right. I guess I should start by simply trying to catch up with everyone. Have I missed anything important? And is everything here really as it seems?

[She actually prefers people to be more informal with her. It's friendlier and she'd rather people feel comfortable around her.]

I wouldn't say you missed anything important. There are elections every six months, so you'll get the chance to vote when the next one comes around. I arrived a little after the most recent one. I'm not sure what you mean by everything being as it seems.

Really? That's pretty...interesting.

And I meant that is everything actually as happy-go-lucky as it appears? It's pretty suspicious to be dragged into another world entirely and being told to just...live your life. Unless it's just me.

There's some crime, just like there is anywhere...but generally, yes. People are free to just get a job and live. There are some people who have been here for years, so I think they've tried to use their experiences to make things easier for newer arrivals.

Yeah, I know that. I just have no idea what do to with myself now. The freedom to do whatever you want is pretty weird, you know?

I'm not sure if "weird" is the word I would use but you aren't wrong. Have you found a decent place to live yet?

Uhh no. Not yet, anyways. I'll be living in the small starter place, it seems. I'm not picky about that sort of thing, though.

That small space gets very small, very quickly. It's fine for a few nights while you get on your feet, but I'd recommend finding somewhere you have access to more than a microwave.
