[Action] - Closed w/ Enno

[Oh how Hana loathed how her job sometimes sent her on missions to kill another animal. It hurt her and it was something she did NOT want to do. But what was interesting is that these beasts did not communicate to her. She would challenge them to a fight, but they did not respond with anything-no resistance, no cry for help, just coming towards her to fight almost mindlessly. It was strange..and yet those creatures would always have souls??? ?? ?

Who knew, but she always paid her respects afterwards for such a fight. This time was no different, especially with how massive this bear was. It was so aggressive, that even in her form she was struggling...and being so close to the town in Fayren too! By the time the creature had fallen at least, she did too right beside it. But, she was hungry after that, so raising herself up to just sit up, she reached over, placed a paw on the creature's chest, and butted her forehead against the other's. Murmuring her thanks, the dragon paused midway and spotted a human staring.

Wide-eyed, Hana stopped her process and immediately gasped]

...D-don't be afraid-!

[she had no energy to turn human though] I..run away but it's okay, don't..

[Lowering her ears and body, her immediate reaction was to run to prevent any freight to the person, but..but goodness her job, the lingering soul..it could be lost forever..!]

[Despite his confidence of that not being her intention, there was just the faintest bit of color in his cheeks as she tested his name in that way.

Enno let out a soft laugh as she struggled for a location of origin for herself, but home sounded fine to him and he nodded.] Ja, though I have not seen it in some time.

[Her next question though made him pause. He had just been discussing this with his partner machine the other day. While he knew she wanted the literal definition; it again made him think on the metaphorical one. After all, a great many could claim to be a knight and be so on paper, but what did that really mean to him? He nodded again.] Ja, ja. Schrevau, a knight is...

[Now he was really thinking about it, crossing his arms before reaching to cup his chin now as he devoted some serious thought to the matter.] A Knight... Ja. A knight is someone that does for others, and lives as an example. [He nodded, thinking that was the long and the short of it.] Someone that is honest, good, helpful.

[..Daw~ Hana knew what that meant, and had the greatest urge to nuzzle him. When humans blushed like that, it simply made her own heart melt with warmth and butterflies.

Instead she purred, listening, watching, and finally perked up] Someone who does for others, honest, good, helpful..

[Hana repeated thoughtfully] Then..a lot of the humans of my home were like that! We had knights, yes!~ Human Knights~

..Well perhaps not the little ones, but they are merely little ones and learn from those Knights. That's really good to know. The clans and leaders will be so happy for such a term like that exists~

[Enno nodded as she repeated, while it was simple enough concepts, for someone to truly understand them, that seemed rarer than he would like.]

You had knights as well?

[Now though he wanted to know more about her. Since this was the rarest chance for him so far.]

Tell me more about your clan. I do not speak to dragons often.

[Hana nodded, her tail flicking]

By your definition, yes we did. But we had no such terms. That is certainly a definition that can be applied to lots of our Family members.

[She shut her eyes, content and thinking while trying to brush to the side that sheer loneliness of people not knowing about Dragons..or at least Draconics]

That's a shame. My clan-my Family- is quite large. Not the largest compared to the others, like the Family of the Ocean or Family of the Underground or Skies but we're very close and work together.

There's the humans that we took care of with their small tribe, the spotted cats with their small family-they're spread around everywhere in small groups..~ [she nodded, opening her eyes and smiling at such memories]

Then we have the hoofed herd with the curled horns. They're the oldest and truest leaders of our Mountain. Then there's the bird families that join our Families at times as well. Their home is with the Sky Draconics, but they often rest at our mountain. We welcome them regardless.

Of course I can't forget the Bear clans that have come into the Mountain Families, as well as the Hares who choose so. So many of them we watch, we guard, protect..we're one Family with each other.

[pauses] The..Knights you spoke of, they're the leaders, yes? Many of the leaders and heads are the most kind-hearted, the most generous, the eldest, and caring..they're the ones that give us, Draconics, pieces of their light and love to give us form...

[the homesickness was definitely there when realizing she trailed off] ..That was a lot, apologies..

[Enno took a breath, she certainly gave him a lot to take in, and he blinks, trying to process everything fast so he doesn't start fixating on what interests him the most.]

Do not apologize.

[He holds out a hand, but isn't certain about touching yet, he doesn't have permission.]

You speak of a great many different people working together, it is very admirable, and something I did not take part in until I left my home. You are a Draconic? How does that differ from a dragon? What about your leaders? How did they come by such wisdom as to lead?

[Don't worry though, he's taking notes and will quiz her on everything shortly after he is certain he understands everything.]

[Permission, shermission. Hana puts her large paw on his hand, curious as to what he wanted]

So..I had only heard of the term 'dragon' coming here, and from learning a little I think...well...hm.. [The dragon tilts her head and perks up]

These dragons and us are very similar in that we're both large, flying creatures that have teeth, and either legs, no legs, and so on. I think we're different because we are made from The Shadow, and the Light and love of the leaders.

Unless you are a Draconic of the sky, desert, or another place with reptiles, you will hardly find a Draconic will all scales like a Drgaon, per say. On top of that we only feed on the souls of those ready to pass...not eat meat.

-And our leaders came to such wisdom because The Shadow has blessed them, and because of that, they are able to live longer to see the world, and spread their light. They were the ones selfless enough to offer their lives for The Scarlet Serpent for their people. [Hana purred at such a story of how The Shadow came to be, as do the leaders]

Some of the leaders themselves have passed, true, but they have descendants to have such powers and wisdom within.

[With that, Enno does reach to rest his hand on her, and grins.]

You feed on souls?

[That was worrisome to hear, if he's being honest with himself. Also if he was being honest, that worry is a knee-jerk reaction, and he has been wrong before with it. He considers the rest of her words carefully.]

So you share wisdom...literally? Though the bonds you all share?

[He's equating light with wisdom here, likely mistakenly, but it's still interesting to him how they can share such closeness.]

[Oh-okay, she saw that twinge in him, so Hana quickly corrected]

Yes-however, we only feed on the souls that are ready to pass. Those who are elderly, the sick, and so on. [she glanced at the ancient bear she had taken and looked back to Enno]

That way, I hold them within, so when I pass, I can help guide them to places they need to go. Until that time, we join together as one. Just as everything is at the core of it. But wisdom can be orally, like through stories, or through acts..at the core of it, yes. It is through the bonds we share, you're right~

[Hana rose up from laying down] Ah-do you want to fly with me? I need to return my friend to my workplace. Then I can answer any of your questions once I'm free?

[He smiled at that finally, she sounded just like some ethereal guide; nurturing, motherly. Occasionally, he found himself looking for such in his life, but the downside he had to being a knight that he withheld from explanation was that usually it was faintly solitary. If one was a knight-errant anyway, and he was.

He ruffles the feathers on her head lightly, nodding in understanding.]

You are very noble, Veraun. I am glad to meet you.

[At the mention of flying though, he grinned, rather like small child, blushing with excitement.]

We could... We could fly?

[Hana extended her four wings, and chirped]

Yes! -And it looks like you're not afraid either! Of course we can fly. The humans I had raised and watched back home would love to fly with me-and if you're not afraid..?

[She nuzzled his cheek before walking and holding the bear body gently in her arms, turning to Enno] I mean-if you don't want to, I can certainly come back as well? Now you're safe, I don't need to worry.

I am not afraid.

[He said that perhaps too eagerly, reaching to touch his cheek where she nuzzled, and this time turning beet red.]

No! I want to fly.

[Literally, this had been a dream of his and to think it would be granted so casually, he was happier than words could express. Fear was out of the question here. ]

I would. I would like very much to fly, Veraun.

[Hana beamed, delighted to ear someone say that at last! She lowered herself before him, her head turned so he could brace himself with her four horns]

Let's have some fun then~ Just be sure to hang on. -And if not, know I will always catch you.

[Always a fail safe, human children never really hung on as tight as she had hoped]

...What's Veraun, too..?

[His fingers wiggle excitedly now, trying to keep the spring in his step less than noticable and failing as he crossed over to climb onto Hana.]

Ja.

[He did as asked and gripped her horns tightly, as he assumed this was going to take some strength to stay mounted. Though her question was a good one and he paused to think.]

It is... I think the word here is "woman". Though it is not as rude as I understand that means? I should call you Veraun Hana since I know your name, but it is fine in my country to say it in the short way. It would be like...

[He motions with a hand as he thinks.]

Miss Hana in this tongue?

[Once he was on, and she felt he was secure and holding on, Hana wiggled her body close to the ground, ready to dash forward, bounce off a sturdy tree and head up. Her arms cradled her bear tightly and close to her chest, remembering such battle and how noble a spirit this one was]

Veraun Hana.. I don't know what tongue this is. [She giggled]

That is the gift that humans gave to us Draconics-always the ability to understand and communicate just like them. So generous..and you have so many tongues to speak. So much stories, so much to speak, it's spectacular..

Veraun Hana sounds just as lovely if it is more comforting to you, Sir Enno.

[This was a lot more bumpy than he initially expected, feeling himself pitch to one side even as he tried to hold still.]

Deul. My tongue is Deul.

[He appreciated that gift, and to a degree yearned for such himself. However, while it suited her; he was much better off not always knowing what was said. He kept his eyes constantly looking around them now, the air was amazing, and this was something she could so easily. He could almost feel his spirit leaving his body.]

It sounds very spectacular. Thank you, Veraun Hana.

[Since she was so far the only person that would allow him this small bit of home here. No one else enjoyed it and one became outright angry.]

[Hana was worried at first, but he held on. Phew, good. This bear was a lot bigger than her and she would have hated to drop either one of them. Closing her eyes, she hummed sing-song fully]

Of course~ What would you be called in your tongue?

[She wished her flying could be a lot longer, but maybe they can do so after she drops off her job's wish?]

Is..that where you're from, Deul?

[The humming made the flight more pleasant, and he grinned again now.]

Lar, since I have no status any longer.

[He really hoped they could fly more, he was going to feel extremely spoiled if such happened. At her question, he considered his usual pattern of keeping to himself, but he had already gotten to hear a lot about her.]

Deulnelia, it is a Sovereignty, and our City-States have Kings that obey the Sovereign. I used to be a Lord Knight.

[There was a long pause.]

I was banished, so I am now a Knight-Errant.

[All of that sounded so painful for him. To be stripped of something..sounded like an honor. But to be banished too..that was a word she knew]

Lar Enno, then. [Hana finalized, satisfied] Thank you for opening up, I can sense that was..beyond terrible for you..

You're still you, a great knight, no less. Whether Lord or Errant. That is still something marvelous to hold onto as far as titles.

You are very kind, Veraun Hana.

[He didn't feel especially worthy of such kindness. Leaning, he ruffled her feathers again with a small sigh before smoothing them back out carefully.]

It was... Well, that is in the past now. I have seen the stars and beyond since, so maybe it was a good thing.

[Oh gosh, the scratches and ruffles were lovely~ Hana closed her eyes in enjoyment. She slowly flew herself down to where her workplace was, landing light a feather.

She placed the bear down in front of the place, gave it one last nuzzle and in one jump, Hana flew back up in the air, knowing Enno wanted to fly more]

That, you have! You're in another world, and in this world, you're not banished at all. In fact..you're welcomed here.

[The dragon glanced at him with a wink and coasting in the sky] But thank you, I only state the truth of what I see~

Do you wish to stay here..more than go back?

[Waiting silently as Hana drifted down to her work, he paused for her to drop off the bear reverently, moving to be ready to get off only to almost be jerked off and rush to grip her horns again as she took off once more.

He wasn't upset at all by this, as flying was something amazing he couldn't accomplish on his own. Still, despite her assurance, Enno wondered just how welcome he was.]

Do I wish to stay?

[Her question was one he had weighed on heavily on his mind since he took up the job of Deputy, and he had hoped his work so far had been satisfactory. The important of her question led him to consider what he had back home, and he felt his heart grow heavy. Each beat suddenly turned into a struggle in his chest as he recalled one thing.]

I would say yes. [a beat] But there is someone I wish to see again.

[Even if it would only be a last time, and it always felt as though it would be if he went back. Enno rested a hand on her head lightly before he resumed scratching gently through her feathers. Someone this bright didn't need to worry about matters he wasn't even ready to solve.]

Still, I may change my mind. And you, Veraun Hana? Do you wish to stay?

[Hana feels him, his heart ache. It rippled in her reflection-based heart. Not only that but she shared that sentimentality]

Yeah, no need to worry now for something that could change.. All things change.

[She closed her eyes] I don't know. This is such a wonderful place. I'm content, no one's afraid, there's a lot of harmony here that my world once had..

But.. I may need to go back. My Family..My Home is in so much danger.. Mm..but we'll see. [narrowing her gaze ahead she stated]

I hope you get to see that person again, at least once more, then. They sound dear to you.

[He wondered briefly if all things really did change, but also knew part of that depended on the person.]

Home is in danger where I am from... People more capable than me are handling it. [So perhaps he wouldn't even be missed. Though since time seemed to stop, he would have to shoulder that burden at some point.]

That person is as important to me as the Sun. Though perhaps I am just naive.

[He leaned forward, moving an arm around her neck lightly. He didn't want to squeeze tightly since they were still so far up in the air.][]

[The dragon smiled and giggled] No. Let the feelings grow. So she is the Sun, you are a powerful plant in need of her warmth. Her embrace.

[To feel that feeling would be nice, rather than just feeling it from Enno]

Hearts like that bound back together, no matter what. I can feel it.

[He laid his head on her neck now, thinking about her words carefully. Hana had put something so simply that he had struggled with for such a long time.]

...Thank you. Do you care for someone?

[It was nice having him there. To be hugged like that, by her humans, was all that she could have hoped for. They were happy together in the air and flying~]

Hm? I care for many people, many creatures~

[Hana didn't know that he meant another, deeper connection]

[Which was probably best. It was nice to live that simply, at least he hoped it was.]

That is nice.

[Which after he fell silent for a bit so he could enjoy the flight with her and not let his thoughts trouble the both of them.]
