[Bulla flips the feed on, a thoughtful look on her face as she speaks.]

You know, as much as being suddenly being brought here is a major inconvenience to people, it’s amazing that multiversal places like this exist, isn’t it? You have the chance to meet so many people you’d never get to meet otherwise, and see things that no one else on your world has seen. Or almost no one else, if you’re lucky enough to have someone from your world here with you.

[She’d like to go home, but she honestly can’t say that she regrets winding up here or in the previous place she was in.]

I wonder how many others are out there.

I'm presuming you want him to stay with us--but where would he be? I'm on the couch, and every other bedroom is taken. (You're in my old room, baby sister :-p )

I was thinking of getting an air mattress. I don't think it will take too long, but someone is stealing from the hospital and I thought it was good that he's trying to investigate.

[They’d sparred for a while, and now it’s time to cool off with smoothies at the mall. Bulla is also hungry, so she’s bought herself three foot-long sandwiches. No, she’s not bringing any of them home. This is all for her. Her family’s grocery bill is consistently high with two half-saiyans and one full blooded saiyan in the house, plus two healthy adult women.]

That was fun! We should make sparring a regular thing.

[And now to veer entirely off topic, because there’s something she’s been wondering about since the day they were at the Dream Docks helping Aizawa.]

So...I couldn’t help but notice that you blushed around Ichigo before.

[Maybe it’s a little meddlesome of her, but her intentions are friendly and benign.]

....that sounds okay, but it also begs the question of who's the friend?

That's the more difficult part. It's Katsuki Bakugou. I understand if you don't want him to stay with us considering your fight. Even saying "Yes, he's related to us" if anyone asks would be helpful. I just really wanted to help because I'm the one who told him he should try being a paramedic.

I don't like or dislike him. I don't trust him to not explode, literally and figuratively, over almost everything. I don't trust him to not try and pick a fight, especially after we had ours. (Which was my stupidity, I'll admit. I should know better.)

He's a lot like Dad, and everything I've heard about Dad before he and Mom got together. Like, possibly before he lived on Earth from everything I've been heard. (Not that Bakugou is a relatively remorseless conquering slave to a galactic Emperor...but the whole selfish-obssessed-with-being-the-best-ego-tistical-arrogance....)

He does have a lot of the same traits, yes, but there's more to him than that. He really wants to be a hero and is working hard to reach that goal.

When Mr. Aizawa was hurt, he was able to get past his anger, and listened to what people were telling him for helping to stabilize Mr. Aizawa until others arrived to help. He kept his temper under control and followed my lead when we were looking for who might have hurt Mr. Aizawa. And when he was sick and trapped in an elevator, he prioritized the wellbeing of the civilians with him.

He's got terrible people skills and a bad temper, but I think having more good influences in his life will help him become a better person.

[Most people would be astonished at Bulla's appetite. Orihime is effing pleased. It means she won't get gawked at for eating a couple of bento boxes, and she just grins cheerfully when Bulla picks up her order. Teenage girls need to eat!]

[The smoothie is pretty much dessert at this point, and Orihime is enjoying hers, nodding vigorously to Bulla's suggestion.]

I'd like that! I got a really good workout. And I think my reflexes are getting a little better too, thank you!

[She takes a pull from her straw, but that proves to be a mistake. Orihime promptly chokes and sputters out bits of mango and pineapple.]

Th-that...! I was just embarrassed at being carried, it's not like that!

[Sure it isn't. That's why, even as she waves her hand dismissively, her face is as red as Bulla's hairband.]

I'm kind of heavy for my size, s-so...

Oh I don't think he's a BAD person, although I think he hasn't yet fully gotten that things don't work like HIS world. I'm sure there's more to him, it's just those are the traits *I* noticed.

I don't plan to start anything, but I won't let him make explosions in the apartment.

[If anything, Bulla is glad that Orihime has a healthy appetite. She feels a little less self-conscious about how big hers is. Although she's confident enough to own it and move on, it is something that separates her from others.

Bulla watches Orihime's reaction, and...bingo.]

Are you sure? No judgement here. I can see why you'd be interested in him. He's a nice person, athletic, smart enough to work as a nurse, and not bad to look at, either.

[She holds out her pinky.]

I didn't think you would start anything. I just wanted to point out other things I've noticed to give you another perspective.

So if he promises to control himself, you don't mind if he stays?

[Orihime hasn't stopped walking, but the hangdog pleading look she directs at Bulla would confirm anyone's suspicions about her feelings. Her cheeks are still burning. What can she say to that? The crush is still there, and it's not something she's proud of. Her gaze moves forward and drops slightly as she wrestles with the decision of whether or not to confess.]

Mngh...

[Bulla promising not to tell does ease her fears somewhat. She doesn't want Ichigo to find out about it, or he'll be burdened with her feelings. He might even feel pressured to return them just because he's so nice and awesome, and the absolute last thing she wants is a relationship based on obligation. So if she just stays quiet and keeps it to herself, he won't find out.]

[But...she's been bottling up so much for so long, and the chance to finally spill her guts to someone who's proven to be a really good friend so far is breaking her down.]

Bulla-chan is very observant...

[She still isn't lifting her head, but her hand lifts, and her drink-cooled pinky shyly hooks Bulla's.]

It's complicated. He loves someone else, so I know I shouldn't. I'm trying not to.

I'm glad for more perspectives; if I'd known you were a friend of his I'd have come to you sooner. I'm skeptical, but I don't mind.

Thanks, Trunks! I'll wait a little to see if Mai, Goku or Mom have any objections before I let him know that he can stay. If he causes problems, I'll drag him off to Mr. Aizawa personally.

Right? It's crazy to think there are so many different worlds out there. I wonder how much they have in common, if anything at all?

More worlds than a human brain can comprehend. Not only are there many different worlds, but there are multiple versions of every world. And then all of those different universes are grouped into different omniverses.

From what I've gathered, I think it's safe to assume many of us don't even share an omniverse in common.

[It's a promise to not tell him, and indeed, Bulla won't even drop hints to Ichigo. But it's not a promise to avoid asking him questions about his own feelings.]

Has he told you he's in love? Is he in an actual relationship with that person?

[These are important things to clarify. For all they know, Ichigo's interest in that someone else could be one-sided.]

Some things seem to be pretty standard in many universes, at least. Like different worlds have different standards for how people should dress, but I never met anyone from a universe of nudists.

[Thankfully. That would have been awkward.]

My duty "back home" is to guard something called the Grande Library. It's a dimensional plane where all other universes, and their worlds and timelines, are stored as books. I help protect them, and occasionally go to solve problems.

Are you a traveler as well?

[Orihime shakes her head. She's not sure how much she should say about Rukia and Ichigo. Those sorts of things are private, and it's really not her place to gossip when Ichigo is actually here.]

We don't really talk about things like that. I just know he doesn't look at me the same way he does at her. And I...

[She holds the smoothie in both hands, hunching guiltily.]

I don't have the same effect on him that she does. She's a really wonderful person, too. She spent an entire month helping me train, just so I wouldn't feel left behind. So to even think of getting in between them makes me an awful person, Bulla-chan. I don't want to be like that.

It is amazing. Even after being here for nearly two years I find myself still learning new things.

[And it's not like she has anywhere else to be really.]

I wonder just how many fashion disasters can exist.
