[Action]

[Sabo awakens with a jolt, momentarily concerned about the bed he's in. Is it some sort of coffin? He couldn't be dead, no no no no, this has to be some kind of nightmare!

He darts out of the pod-like bed and glances around. He's in a cave, which makes this situation even stranger, but his pipe, hat, jacket, and goggles are neatly sitting on the ground close to where the bed is. He takes the needed minute to throw his jacket and hat/goggles on, and grabs his pipe, effortlessly placing it on his back.

He continues to glance around for a minute, and then realizes that he had left a few items on the foot of the bed, which he must have tossed around a bit when he jolted awake. He picks them up, reads any text he can find, and then fiddles with the smartphone for a couple of minutes until he figures out how to turn it on.

[His face is uncomfortably close to the screen, since he still has no idea what the heck this smartphone thing is, and he's really curious about it.]

Hello? Hello?! Is this kind of like a Transponder Snail or something? Huh, I guess it is. Well, that's useful. Koala, where are you? Did you wake up in one of these really weird coffin beds? [He puts a hand to his chin and thinks for a second, with an audible 'hm'.]

I kind of think you're probably not around, otherwise I would have been yelled at already for sleeping in.

I wonder if anyone I know is here. [He decides, after another moment of thought, to introduce himself, just in case he doesn't know anyone around.]

Well -- uh -- for anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Sabo! I'd appreciate some more information about this Genessia place if anyone would like to talk!

Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask if there's any way I could go back to where I was before I woke up here, since I was in the middle of something pretty important.

Though, with my luck sometimes I'd be surprised if I could go back.

Where is Genessia located? Could I borrow a boat or hitch a ride on a ship?

There may be, in theory, but the way to do so is so awful I wouldn't speak of it, let alone recommend it. Don't worry, your situation is a common one. Most--another theory--say that time for here and there play nicely together.

Aheh, no one's quite sure, to my knowledge, where this world lies in relation to any others. There are boats to sail, if that's your pleasure, but our ocean's likely smaller than you're used to.

As awful as death? [He considers what way could possibly be so awful, and can't think of much else. Memory loss? Injury? He's dealt with those, but that doesn't mean he'd like to do so again.]

I suppose I don't need to worry about the boat, then. I wasn't able to call a crow to ride, either, when I tried to once but if time isn't moving back home...

A Transponder Snail is kind of like this thing, but it's a snail. Some of them let you record video, some don't.

Honestly, I kind of like this phone thing a bit more since you don't need to feed it or anything! [He laughs.]

Yeah, crows are the best way to get around! Well, one of the best, but I can't just summon them if they aren't anywhere near me. And I don't think their owner is here.

I'm not particularly great at tailoring or sewing, but I've fixed a hole here and there on my jacket. Is someone hiring?

There's hunting for flora and fauna in Fayren. The Library where you are now is looking for bookkeepers. Pan's Grocery--my favorite--is looking for help with bagging and so on. If you're the entrepreneurial type, the mall is seeking sales clerks. The hospital is short-handed, and Nova City elementary could use another teacher or two.

Any of those sound suitable?

[He listens, really thinks for a bit, and decides that none of those jobs quite sound like what he's interested in. If anything, he doesn't think he's qualified to be teaching much, aside from some combat techniques or what have you.

I appreciate the information, but I might hold out for a bit until I find out more about any available tailoring positions. I figure it wouldn't hurt to try something new, and learn something else. Keeps my mind off of back home.

I only travelled if I needed to make a house call so to speak.

But I find if I need to be called while out now it's just much easier. Not that I ever get called while I'm out, of course.

I've heard of them back home, but haven't interacted with either. Marco is your captain? Of a crew, or what?

I think I can handle whatever apprenticeship I need to. Anything sounds more forgiving than what I was expected to do back home!
