[Action]
[Sabo awakens with a jolt, momentarily concerned about the bed he's in. Is it some sort of coffin? He couldn't be dead, no no no no, this has to be some kind of nightmare!
He darts out of the pod-like bed and glances around. He's in a cave, which makes this situation even stranger, but his pipe, hat, jacket, and goggles are neatly sitting on the ground close to where the bed is. He takes the needed minute to throw his jacket and hat/goggles on, and grabs his pipe, effortlessly placing it on his back.
He continues to glance around for a minute, and then realizes that he had left a few items on the foot of the bed, which he must have tossed around a bit when he jolted awake. He picks them up, reads any text he can find, and then fiddles with the smartphone for a couple of minutes until he figures out how to turn it on.
[His face is uncomfortably close to the screen, since he still has no idea what the heck this smartphone thing is, and he's really curious about it.]
Hello? Hello?! Is this kind of like a Transponder Snail or something? Huh, I guess it is. Well, that's useful. Koala, where are you? Did you wake up in one of these really weird coffin beds? [He puts a hand to his chin and thinks for a second, with an audible 'hm'.]
I kind of think you're probably not around, otherwise I would have been yelled at already for sleeping in.
I wonder if anyone I know is here. [He decides, after another moment of thought, to introduce himself, just in case he doesn't know anyone around.]
Well -- uh -- for anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Sabo! I'd appreciate some more information about this Genessia place if anyone would like to talk!

Though, with my luck sometimes I'd be surprised if I could go back.
Where is Genessia located? Could I borrow a boat or hitch a ride on a ship?
Re: [Video]
Aheh, no one's quite sure, to my knowledge, where this world lies in relation to any others. There are boats to sail, if that's your pleasure, but our ocean's likely smaller than you're used to.

As awful as death? [He considers what way could possibly be so awful, and can't think of much else. Memory loss? Injury? He's dealt with those, but that doesn't mean he'd like to do so again.]
Wait, so time has kind of ... stopped back where I'm from? I don't have to worry so much about how everyone is doing? [What a sigh of relief that is!]
I suppose I don't need to worry about the boat, then. I wasn't able to call a crow to ride, either, when I tried to once but if time isn't moving back home...
I can probably relax a bit.
[Subject change time!]
So, the pamphlet I had on me when I woke up said something about jobs and housing. You seem knowledgeable, so I guess I'll ask: do you know of any place hiring?
no subject
[Despite not joking, he says it in a pseudo-ridiculous, spooky manner. Better not do it, whatever it is!]
Ah...something like that! Whether worry's wanted or not seems vain either way; I can't think of any time it's helped an inch, can you?
Haha, riding crows, eh? Would I knew the experience. Ours, alas, don't run so large. Perhaps that's for the best.
[Subject change it is!]
Plenty. Many are. What skills do you have? Tailoring, perhaps?
no subject
Yeah, crows are the best way to get around! Well, one of the best, but I can't just summon them if they aren't anywhere near me. And I don't think their owner is here.
[He supposes if he has to get a job here, something like tailoring/fashion design might be fun.]
I'm not particularly great at tailoring or sewing, but I've fixed a hole here and there on my jacket. Is someone hiring?
no subject
Haha, I'll have to take your word for it.
Oh, plenty are. I just thought you, "Sabo", might mean your name quite that much. Have you been assaulted with the paper yet? They always list a few. If not...
[He'll dig around in his bag, produce his own, and start reading them out.]
There's hunting for flora and fauna in Fayren. The Library where you are now is looking for bookkeepers. Pan's Grocery--my favorite--is looking for help with bagging and so on. If you're the entrepreneurial type, the mall is seeking sales clerks. The hospital is short-handed, and Nova City elementary could use another teacher or two.
Any of those sound suitable?

Honestly, I kind of like this phone thing a bit more since you don't need to feed it or anything! [He laughs.]
Anyway, hello!

But this device is much better than a snail. Won't leave a trail either.
no subject
Did you have phones like this back home?
no subject
It's quite useful.

[Rip's maybe a little amused by the kids attitude about all this.]
Zhis place is...unique und vho knows if anyone you know iz here. Zhey might be, you just haf to ask around.
no subject
I kind of like it more than a snail, to be honest.
Knowing my colleagues, I'd have heard them yelling for me by now if they were around.
no subject
[She just pauses and gives him a strange look. Come to think of it, she knew a certain shark that sometimes called his phone a snail and she never gave it much thought until now.]
....I'm villing to bet zhat if zhey are here, zhey might not be paying attention. Zhen again, vho really knows.
But, I do know at least one person, maybe two zhat haf referred to zheir phones as snails before, if zhat helps.
no subject
[Well, Sabo is really intrigued now!]
Do you remember their names? Are any of them dressed like me at all?
no subject
[She smiled slightly. Of course she knew their names! One of them she was dating and the other was her captain.]
I couldn't forget my family zhat easily. Namur iz my lover und Marco is our captain. Do you know zhem?
no subject
I've heard of them back home, but haven't interacted with either. Marco is your captain? Of a crew, or what?

Yes, I'm Sabo. Who do you know who dresses like me?
I've heard of the Grand Line! Who hasn't?
An' there's a hell of a lotta folk that ain't never heard a it, since they ain't never been anywhere near our world. But now I know 's ours, not mine, catch me?
Ah, sorry. That was good! I liked that description, yeah.
I'm not planning on starting much of anything here, unless given a reason too. There aren't any World Government cronies here, are there?
Smoker's probly the closest thing. Marine. But the bastard kinda hates the World Government. Jus' kinda hates pirates jus' as much. Hell if I know what he'd think a y' Revolutionaries, though.
So when y' from? How long's it been since... aw shit, what'd they call it? The Paramount War?
That being said, if I find out that they're doing what I really despise, then... we'll see.
Smoker, huh? Interesting that he's here. I don't know how our interaction would go, if we met. Probanly not swimmingly, but who knows.
Ah... I do hope there's enough to do around here. I'm so used to having tons of work to do.
I'm from the start of Reverie. It's been over two years since the War.
