[Needless to say, Haku's... none too pleased at waking up in what is essentially a coffin and finding that, no, this isn't the afterlife. This is the second time he hasn't been allowed to move on and it's honestly starting to get old.
He'd taken in the information simply enough, filing away the necessary parts as well as anything that might be later, into the back of his mind. A shinobi always took opportunities where they could and he was no exception even now.
This... device could communicate to groups of people and he's going to take advantage of that almost immediately.
Which might explain why he's a little too close to the screen before backing off.]
I have two important questions:
One: What is the working age here?
And two: Is there something akin to shinobi in this place? I... may be interested in speaking more to those that are familiar with the term or are close enough to such.

And I'm not sure about a shinobi. I'm Satou Kuroneko, and I work as law enforcement in two of the cities. Can I be of use to you, sir?
video
Law enforcement? [Also she called him "sir", that's a rare one to guess from the very first interaction and he will gladly take it.]
I... I asked the second question primarily to see if that sort of... [He's trailing off for a moment to search for the word. Profession? Lifestyle? Honestly, this isn't great.] work is done around here. It would be easier to transition to a new place when you're at least somewhat familiar with one aspect of it, right?

What do shinobi do? I'll do my best to help you out.

That's the part that almost worries him.]
We... do quite a number of things. Though what I did, myself, tended to favor more... hunting targets and keeping others alive from those that were going after them.
Though I suppose I am also skilled in medical herbs and tracking?

[That sounds so much like her job back home. Minus the drama and angst, as far as she knows.]
You might be able to get a law enforcement job. We have police officers here to protect the public and a few cities hire them. There’s also bounty hunting.

Though he's mulling it over before he hears bounty hunting and is sighing quietly. Of course this place would have such a thing, every place would.]
I am, unfortunately, very familiar with the concept of bounty hunting. I would... prefer to not have to deal with that again unless absolutely necessary. If it's as messy a business here as it was back home. But thank you for the suggestions anyway, it at least gives me a place to start on my journey.

Like, maybe you could apply for a bakery or something. Baking sounds fun. I think there are tea shops too. Do you like tea?
audio.
One, there isn't a working age here, surprisingly. Two. ...There probably is, don't quote me on that. They could work as law enforcement or bounty hunt if they choose to.
[Audio]
Something about that hesitation has him curious, it almost feels as if perhaps he knows more. Even if he doesn't pry outright.]
I would not call that a surprise, there was hardly an age limit on where I came from.
... Law enforcement is probably not going to be the line I would be particularly used to. Though how does bounty hunting work here? [A more subtle way of saying he wasn't a shinobi that worked for police forces, oops.]
[Audio]
You don't say? Then that shouldn't be an issue here.
Bounty hunting is something the law enforcement relies on outside sources to catch the fugitive if they can't for some reason, or other labors people request like picking the right flowers or something. Anyone you have to bring in for the authorities, you can't kill them. They must be brought in alive for their trials.
Some cities operate differently on bounty hunting. Nova City you need a license. Every city in general mostly have the 'do not murder' bounty rule.
Re: [Audio]
Though, it's the emphasis on the murder line that has him a little more defensive than he really should be.]
Just because I am a shinobi does not mean I murder people. I am more than familiar with how to bring someone down without the need to murder them. [Way overly defensive, but he's soothing his tone almost immediately once he realizes how that sounded.]
Mm. I would say that someone is a rather bad shinobi if all they could do to neutralize a target or threat is outright murdering them. There are several ways to incapacitate someone without needing to go that far.
Re: [Audio]
[He plainly said. Not accusing anyone
yet. Regardless, he simply takes it as a misunderstanding.]Recently there's been issues with bounty. I'm only clarifying here on how this world runs so there isn't confusion along the way.
[He still keeps it neutral, not wanting to step on the kid's toe.]
There's also aliens, monsters, mystical creatures, humans with quirks, really you got a bunch of different characters with their own taste and justice. It's just a friendly heads up.
[Sayaka paused]
Wait, I'm sorry, did you say shinobi, like ninjas?
Re: [Video]
I did. Shinobi are hardly a rare occurrence where I am from?
Re: [Video]
[she gasped a bit, it was hard to ease her own excitement] I..will definitely have to learn from you. I'm from a world where such a thing is just myth or in the history books.
video;
[Most people seem to work as far as she knows.]
But shinobi. That means all the sneaky type things? Maybe you could try and do bounties and catch criminals.
Re: video;
Something of the sort. We do tend to focus on different areas and have other skills as well, but it depends on an individual basis. I... am rather good with herbal medicines as well, for example.
Bounties seems to be the thing everyone is suggesting, though it's still... I think I would rather try something different here.

video
[But, at least, with regards to his former question...]
There doesn't seem to be one. If you are able to work, and know even a little of the place you want to apply for, they'll let you.
So long as the position is open, of course.
Re: video
Slowly he's nodding, seeming lost in his own thoughts for a moment.]
At least there is that, I suppose I have more to look for and to learn than I first thought. I am... not constricted to what I knew here, it seems.
video
No, not at all.
We're actually constricted to very little here. Besides being able to leave.
