Agh, turned up nothing again.

[For a moment, it seemed like Leo had accidentally turned on the device until he turned his attention to it. He'd turned it on while in the process of pouring over what information was available on the world of Genessia again, but not finding what he was looking for. He had also consciously made sure to filter this message as well... because no Takos allowed.]

Unless there are texts that I have missed, is it not commonplace for Genessia's spirits to pluck people out of differing "timelines?" My memories don't match up to that of all of my siblings, and the only one who knows what I'm talking about is-- [He gives a disgruntled sigh.] -the last person I wish to associate with in any manner.

[He's irritated, to say the least. Why are he and Takumi the only ones who remember things differently? Why is he the one that appears like the crazy one?!]

... That said, I am interested in expanding my knowledge of this world's technology. I don't suppose there's any work that could aid me in this, is there?

[What was the common term used for what he's looking for? "Entry level"?]

[Even with the WayPoints, getting around between the cities was a hassle on foot. Especially when, for the time being, he's still living in Attleton and his teaching job is at the Ivory Tower in Fayren. He needed a mode of transportation. Sure, he could look into those vehicles that are in every other city, but he would rather something far more familiar. That and he'd rather not spook the populace of Fayren with something motorized.

So Leo can be found at a stable in Fayren, Brynhildr tucked under his arm. He needed to get an idea on how much it would cost to get a horse here, and just what he'd need to do to house it until he got a place to properly call home. While the owner was speaking with other patrons, Leo was taking a liking to a jet black horse that was allowing him to pet it from beyond the fence. At this rate, the stable owner was probably going to be a while. Maybe he should come back later...]

Oh? You’re having multiverse issues? How interesting... I’m more surprised that multiple people from the same timeline are able to show up.

I have experience with technology too. Depending on the kind of learning you want to do, I could assist. Is anything in particular troubling your curiosity?

I would have never given any thought to the concept of a "multiverse" until now. My older siblings claim we're allies with a kingdom while I recall being at war with them. I don't understand it.

[And when he can't understand something, it frustrates him.]

There is nothing in particular, I'm simply wishing to broaden my knowledge. If I ever have to traverse into Nova City, I would rather not be caught unawares.

Then it’s very likely that you aren’t from different points in time, but from entirely different timelines. Timelines work like trees: They constantly branch off.

Perhaps you should follow someone on their daily routine, to start, and begin incooperating technology into yours. For example, things like modern cooking appliances and washing machines. You will probably find that most technology follows some general rules, which makes it easy to adapt to them. Like pressing the biggest button or not spilling water on it.

That is why I chose to use the word "timeline" when I asked, yes. I wanted to know if this was commonplace or not.

I've already grown accustomed to the more "common" technology, in thanks to my temporary residence, but I am far more interested in the more advanced field of technology. I'm well aware I can't survive in this world based on only knowing how a "refrigerator" works.

You're somewhat correct. More like Genessia tends to pull those from the same universe but from different points in the timeline quite often.

I figured that much out. What I can't figure out is how my siblings remember events playing out entirely differently from me. It doesn't make any sense. It has left me looking like I'm a lunatic because I remember things that they claim didn't happen.

This place is connected to the multiverse and some residents of our universe - have memories of having been in another universe altogether through a telepathic transference.

The events did happen to a version of them in another universe and sometimes when they arrive here they have memories of both places.

Or your universe has a divided timeline in- of it by itself.

From my observation; I'd say so, yes.

Only two of the people from my world who are here remember me even being born, so I can definitely sympathize. I can help with technology, too.

But is that due to them being pulled from an earlier point in time, or is it this "timeline" conundrum that's presented itself? Regardless, it is a nuisance.

A bit of both. My older brother and his best friend are from an alternate timeline. With everyone else, it's just being pulled from earlier points in time. Nuisance is putting it mildly, but if it helps any, you're definitely not alone in that.

[It might help at least a little bit, if only because it means he can prove it to his family that others have had similar problems.]

My mother is a genius inventor and I live in the most technologically advanced of the five cities, so...advanced enough that I can help, without being an expert.

Ah, so you reside in Nova City then? I wouldn't say no to the assistance, but I wouldn't want to intrude on any business you might already have.

I come from a time where a war on my world is over. But... there's also people who are so far flung in the future, that I couldn't even begin to comprehend their adventures. And there are others who come from the past... back when I was hostile to them.

It's not pleasant.

I can imagine. But I don't suppose that you've run into a scenario where you remember a war that others from where you came from claim never happened?

[He understands that people can be pulled from different points in time, that's easy enough to grasp. But when his siblings act like he's insane for saying there was a war that he very vividly remembers, then that's a whole different can of worms.]

[ The topic of timelines is what first drew Ayame to the video. Initially, she was only going to listen but his question about technology seemed like a prime opportunity for her to help out. The topic of different times can come later, since that takes effort to explain. Volunteering to do paperwork in the Skyrise, Ayame reaches out through the comms while typing away at a holographic pad without looking at the camera ]

The Schnee Company's branch in Nova City has staff members to help with explaining contemporary technology uses to people from less advanced times, or drastically different cultures. I'd be happy to escort you to it and make them aware of your arrival ahead of time.

[If she'd been listening to most of his other conversations, she can probably take note of the tone of increasing irritation in his voice because apparently no one understands his question. But, since she's answering him on the latter case, he'll at least get control of that tone so he doesn't sond rude.]

I have some basics figured out, but if the Schnee Company in Nova City covers the more advanced field, then I will have to take a trip there.

But for someone who has only learned of the basics of technology in the past two months, I would hope that city isn't difficult to navigate?

It can be for many. Nova City is not only far more technologically sophisticated, but also the largest in size and population density. Organized chaos in a metropolitan scale; with many side streets that branch to even more narrow pathways.

[ The main roads are organized for the most part. It's not usually used since traffic is mostly hovering. ]

I don't doubt your navigational skills, but it is good to have a guide to get you there quicker and have your questions satisfied.

You are not alone in your confusion about the spirits that oversee us, and how they pick people from the same world but from different points in time. That one is a common occurrence, but timelines is not common as far as we are aware. I used to have a colleague here who summoned a subarchway, leading to a city and time years before the point I was taken from, so I can't tell if that would result in a different timeline than the one I was in.

Time is a tricky thing, I'm sorry that your's don't match up with the others. On the bright side there are many ways you can learn about modern technology.

[Sayaka nodded] That way, you can be all knowing in all the times. Not just your's.

I mean I can tell you about things if you'd like, otherwise you can just step into Nova City if you're a more experiential learner.

There is nothing to be sorry for. All I want to know is that if my situation is commonplace or not.

I would much prefer to take a hands on approach. I do wish to take my lessons to Nova City, but I don't know if what little I've learned will be enough to properly understand what is there.

Yeah. It seems to be a common thing. I mean I found I was much further along than some of my friends back home. It's very weird to know things turn out okay but for a friend to say they needed to go back and deal with the situation.

I've never heard of anything quite like that before. So it could be yours is the first case. It might not be the answer you want, but it's the best I can do right now.

Hana's checking out the horses because she likes horses. They're neat. Anyway, she is also feeling the dark energy emanating from Leo's book. It was peculiar, and it was kiiind of familiar to Takumi's..?

Perking up to what the horse that Leo was petting, Hana chirped]
