Hoofbeat 001 [Action]

[Genessia City]

[The sound of galloping hooves can suddenly be heard through Genessia City, and anyone who may be paying attention will likely see what looks to be a black horse galloping through the city in what looks to be almost a panic.

Wait! A black horse.....and a flash of silver hooves and...was that a silver horn on it's head? The only way to catch said horse is likely to be a fast runner, or cut her off somewhere because this unicorn's fear instincts are running wild and confused at the moment.]


[Everywhere else]

[A few hours later, people are more likely to spot the unicorn much calmer. Hanging around her neck is a phone, though she wouldn't know how to use it or even really what it is. She may or may not still be a little skittish based on her instincts, but at least she's not galloping and out of her mind at the moment. She almost seems to be exploring this new and unusual place.]

[ooc Note: Since I've been asked, yes, everyone can see this unicorn for what she is. You do not have to be pure of heart or anything to do so.]

[The sound of hooves against stone catch Li's attention well before she catches sight of the black mare and then has to do a little bit of a double take. Was that a..?

Where the fuck did another one come from!? Li stood there for a moment before taking off after the unicorn with her own surprising equine speed.]

Hey! Wait up you fucking moron!

[Dammit, now there was something or someone chasing her. Lily's nostrils flared as her instincts told her to pick up the pace, pushing herself to a speed faster then any horse could possibly keep up with. She wasn't planning to stop, and as long as fear and adrenaline pushed her, she could go on like this for quite a long time. Even if she was a unicorn, she was still an equine that took to flight. Especially when she was so confused about all this. None of this made sense! None of it! Where was she? What was going on? What was happening? Who was chasing her? Were they dangerous? Was it the hunters who wished to capture her? Human or some other creature? These questions were racing through her mind and she just didn't know what to do or how to act or......


She registered a building right in front of her all of a sudden and attempted to take a sharp turn to avoid it only for her hooves to slide out from under her on the pavement, landing her on her side before she just about ran into the wall itself. Ow. Well that had stopped her. Anyone who thought unicorns were graceful obviously hadn't met Lily.]

[WHAT A GORGEOUS CREATURE!!!! Rose's eyes widen and then she lights up like every girl who ever grew up wanting a pony/unicorn/horse/THESTRAL in the age of MLP and Harry Potter.]

My name's Rose Tyler. I don't have any apples on me... but if you want, I run a restaurant to feed non-human types, and my boyfriend will go mad with delight. He's not human either.

[As she continued to chase the other mare, Li's own predator instincts kicked in, making her chase the other horse to the full extent of her abilities which despite all her own speed and grace, meant she was barely keeping up with the unicorn as she became even faster than Li.

Just what the fuck was this mare's deal anyway!? Li growled as she struggled to keep up and then the corner came and the mare went sliding into a building. Li had to try and stop her own momentum and not crash into the other horse. That was NOT an easy feat.

At all and still sent Li sliding a bit and actually hitting the wall to stop herself.

She stood there, panting and glaring at the unicorn.]

What...the... fuck. Stop you stupid mare! Tryin'...to... help. Fucking.. piece of useless...horse.

[Lily was dazed for a moment before trying to frantically get to her feet again, though it certainly didn't stop Lily from replying as she stumbled, her instinct and adrenaline somewhat knocked out of her by the fall.]

I am not a mare! I am not a horse and I am not useless!

[Lily's voice came out almost as if it was her mind projecting her words so they could be heard as she tried to get up and continued to stumble and fall. Damn hooves! She hated these things! She wanted her two legs back! How the hell did she transform back!]

Coulda fucking fooled me. Look in a mirror, idiot. You have four legs, hooves and are shaped like a horse.

You're a fucking horse. Unicorn... whatever the fuck. You're equine just like I am.. was.

[She growled and surprisingly, every worse she said was equine.]

Fuck it's complicated. So calm the fuck down and just stop, breathe and focus. I'm not trying to hurt you idiot, I want to help.

[Dove's on her way home from another round of rehearsals when she hears the thundering of hooves against stone and turns, only to see the unicorn fly around a corner. Oddly enough, though it's clear enough to see, she can feel the panic, much more clearly than if it were just a normal animal.

With minor hesitation, she starts off after it, releasing her wings and taking to the air just to keep up.]

[Lily kept her distance from Rose as she was spoken to, her head whipping around to look at the one who was speaking to her before Rose would hear her voice being projected over the horse noises she seemed to be making.]

I'd rather you didn't and why in the world would I want apples?

[This was all still very new to her, but instinct told her not to let anyone touch her head. Especially her horn. Then again, even growing up before finding out about this whole being a unicorn thing, she still hadn't really liked people touching her head at all.]

No, I have not been here long, but this place is strange. I do not understand it.

[Even now, Lily was still trying to get up and failing miserably, though she barely noticed that Li was speaking equine back to her. Her mind automatically translated it for her after all.]

I don't like this form! Dammit, I hate having four legs!

[Well, in the air, Dove was much more likely to keep up with the fast animal and could probably keep up with her easy enough from the sky, though if Lily wasn't stopped, she'd probably be running for quite awhile before she slowed down and finally seemed to start settling down, and once adrenaline and instinct no longer dictated her movements....she would stumble. Stupid equine legs! They made no sense to her.]

Well, fuck you. I'd rather have four legs than two!

[She growled and stamped her bare foot against the pavement beneath them.]

And if you're used to two legs then you really have to concentrate with four. If a new born foal can figure this out, so can a fully grown unicorn. So calm the fuck down and do what I said and concentrate! It's one hoof at a time.

[Though she tried listening to what Li was saying and was shaky as she managed to slowly and finally get to her feet, attempted to take a step and then fell again. This time her legs had gotten tangled up. Lily really did overthink it to much....just like a human would.]

[Luckily for the mare, Dove's willing to keep a peaceful eye on her and is quick to act when it seems like she might go down, even if she's slowed a little. Swooping lower and stepping into a moving landing, the angel pulls her hand through the air, bringing with it a rather impressive collection of vines to help catch the unicorn before it can hit the ground full on, should her stumble be great enough.]

Hey, it's okay! Slow down a little... you're alright...

[Well, that was some progress at least and by this point Li had caught her breath and was leaning against the wall as she watched the other mare struggle.]

You're thinking too much. Moving your legs should just be as natural as breathing or walking on two. You're... being too human. Stop that.

[To her the word human was a disgusting word so of course she made it sound that way.]

You're not human, you're a unicorn. Fucking own up to it.

[Lily snorted angrily at the words.]

I'm trying, and excuse me for being raised human!

[Yes Li, she takes offense.]

[Except the vines only manage to spook her and make her jump back and she manages to stay on her feet through instinct alone as she backs up quickly away from Dove.]

What do you want?

[Though only horse sounds come from Lily, what she's saying can be heard clearly as day as he voice gets projected out for others to hear it.]

And I was cursed against my will into this form! So fuck you and deal with it. You've gotten a gift I would kill for.

[And trust her, she'd been tempted. So take all the offense she wants, Li doesn't care.]

[She growled as she ran a hand through her hair.]

Look, if it's anything like when I used to go between forms, you need to calm the fuck down and relax. Picture what you want and just... let it come.

[She lifts her hands immediately, showing the animal she means it no harm, but seems a little more than surprised at the voice in her head.]

I'm not going to hurt you. You're safe here... I just wanted to see what had you so spooked. Here... [There's a soft golden glow in her eyes for just a few moments, and the vines move again, twisting themselves into what Dove hopes is a fairly attractive display for the business that owns the flowerbed. Oops.]

[She's trying, but considering she can barely walk at the moment without stumbling and falling down again, it was going to be easier said then done. She would take a few moments to try what Li suggests but give up after a bit and glance at her with blue eyes.]

It's not working!

[And while she tried, Li kept leaning against the wall with her arms crossed watching her.]

I can see that. I'm not blind.

[She snorted faintly and gave a slight toss of her head. Most of Li's movements gave off a very equine feel to them despite her being human.]

That just means you're not trusting yourself enough. Everything's instinct and you just got to trust it and not over think like a human does.

Besides, humans can breathe, walk and talk without thinking about it right? Same thing. There's just more of you now.

Can I help you at all? It's a lot to get used to, even for universe travelers, like me, but I have experience now.

(She has never seen a black unicorn. The Unicorn watches her fellow (?) race by and she is at war with herself. Does she follow? What if the other doesn't recognize her? She isn't like the other unicorns anymore.

Dancing anxiously in place, the Unicorn rears onto her hind legs and whinnies, her cloven hooves slicing through the air. Then she is galloping too, her form aglow as she follows the path the other unicorn had made.)

[Well, she does have a pure heart. She has a "Fairy Heart". Not that it matters here.

Mavis is walking in the forest - barefoot as per her habit - accompagnied by a big ball of purple fur with big red eyes.

When she crosses the path of the unicorn, she stops and tilts her head curiously.]

It's the first time I see you here.

[Then, she notices the phone around her neck.]
