pickpockets (genessia city)
[ Kaze arrives the same as any other; confused, disoriented, and in a strange cocoon like structure with a variety of objects he has never seen before. Anyone that arrives within the same time frame will see him pull himself from the bay, examine the stone, phone, keys, etc; pocket them and then just... walk off. Seemingly unperturbed by the strange turn of events, though inside his head is spinning.

He searches for familiar faces and - for now - finds none, stopping only when he comes upon the hologram. He listens intently, makes a variety of mental notes, and then walks off again. He keeps to the edges of buildings, half hidden in shadows to avoid detection unless someone is actively trying to see him. And even then he seems to vanish in a blur.

He does make himself known a few times though. The first being in passing as a man, hood pulled over his head like some cliche thug, bumps into a passerby ( you?!?!! ) on the street and snatches their wallet/coin purse/whatever from under their nose. Not often inclined to let such indiscretions go uncontested, the ninja quickly charges a head, intercepting the thief before he's even ten feet away from his victim. ]

Have you a need for coin, perhaps there are better ways to obtain it. [ Like a job? Loser. Kaze has already snatched the object back, much to the thief's chagrin. The man apparently won't just let it slide though, as he throws a punch that misses so hilariously that he tumbles face first into the ground. Kaze steps over him and offers the wallet back, smiling just faintly as he nods in recognition. ] I believe this is yours. I apologize if anything was jostled.

[ And he turns to leave, assuming he is not stopped. ]

[ Eventually, Kaze has to admit that wandering around aimlessly with the limited knowledge he's been given will get him nowhere. He searches for anyone that looks willing enough to speak with him (and maybe won't try and fight him?) and moves to approach. Unfortunately, his near imperceptible footfalls and penchant for hiding in shadows leads his arrival to be less than obvious, and he just kind of... appears near them. His voice is calm, at least, when he says: ]

[Takumi was on the trail of a woman who may fit the description of one of his sisters, so he was out here investigating it. What he wasn't expecting was someone just sneaking up on him like that.]

Huh?! Who? What is it?

[Then, Takumi's gaze is on a familiar ninja. It's not quite what he hoped for, but Takumi is always delighted to find a fellow Hoshidan. Almost too good to be true, even.]

Kaze?

Lord Takumi? [ How Kaze had somehow managed to not recognize the Hoshidan prince was not something any of us are going to question right now. And save for the initial surprise that has his eyes widening just so, Kaze seems pleased at the happenstance. ]

I had not realized you were here as well. Is everything alright?

[Takumi might question it later.

Might.

But more importantly...]

All things considered. I was following a lead on a woman who might be Hinoka or Sakura.

[He went silent for a moment, almost scrutinizing Kaze with just his look alone before speaking up again.]

Kaze? What is the last thing you remember before finding yourself here?

Tell me all you can about this lead, and I will gladly assist in the search, milord.

[ The question that follows throws Kaze off a bit before he recalls what he read and heard from the hologram. Ah. ]

An alliance of peace between Hoshido and Nohr had just been brokered in the wake of Anankos defeat. Why? Do you recall something different?

It's not much, but it's a young woman with red hair.

[Again with this Nohr-Hoshido alliance. Are he and Leo the only ones who remember? He could ask about a specific event, and risk being seen as crazy. He may as well answer the question for the same effect.]

...I recall a war between Nohr and Hoshido... And we were losing.

I was hoping for a bit more information to work with, but I will keep an eye out regardless. [ A young woman with red hair might be rare here, and he hopes for Takumi's sake that it is actually one of his sisters; and not just some random local or newcomer.

He cocks his head to the side, then, brows furrowed. ] Such a drastic change from what I recall. Perhaps it has something to do with whatever or whomever brought us here. [ Spitballing. ]

I know I can count on you.

[And this speculation has gone on for years apparently.]

I may have heard something about there being different timelines. I'm beginning to wonder if it's true. I mean, how else can anyone explain this?

Given the circumstances, perhaps diverging timelines isn't such an odd concept. It would explain the differences in memory, at least.

[ Kaze shrugs. ]

Regardless, we are all here now, and we have at least not forgotten one another.

[Takumi can agree with all that. But he wouldn't mind forgetting someone.]

Indeed, save for one fact that I don't know what happened in your...timeline. Whoever you all met.

Anyway, this isn't going to get us anywhere. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for any clues about my sisters.
...Oh, and check-in with Ryoma as soon as you're able. He may have something for you.

[Kaze may be of better service to his brother anyway. After all, everyone else seems to be.]

It would take some time, but I could tell you all that I know should you ever care to hear it. [ Because why not? He doubts Takumi wants to hear all of it though. It might add more questions than answers. ]

Understood. Where is Lord Ryoma located?

[The jostling of her shoulder is rude enough. Minako winces with the impact, but mid-protest, her purse is yanked right off of her shoulder. She grabs frantically for the strap, but the mugger is off and running.]

HEY! How dare you steal from pretty girls! You'll pay for this!

[Minako is in hot pursuit, bolting right after him, but guess who's faster?]

[HANDSOME YOUNG NINJA HERO IS FASTER.]

[She skids to a stop, mouth open in wide-eyed awe. Wow...he's such a hunk...! And his manner of speaking is so elegant and refined! She stares up at him with big blue sparkling eyes, a flush of pink visible on her face as he chivalrously returns what was stolen from her.]

Thank you...you're totally my--

[He's leaving?! Minako chokes on her honeyed words and her jaw drops even further. Hey! HEY!]

Wait a minute!

[She lunges to catch his arm, he can't get away that easily. +_+ (I mean, he can, but she's tenacious.)]

You didn't let me thank you properly. It's not every day someone springs to my rescue.

[Usually she's the one doing the rescuing.]

Can't I buy you a milkshake at least?

Hm? [ He looks back, then down now to the woman currently latching herself onto his arm. An all too familiar scenario for the ninja; stuck in this odd limbo of not wanting to be rude, and wanting to vanish into the shadows and avoid anything else that might follow.

Alas, politeness wins out despite himself. A low sigh exhaled through parted lips, he offers a somewhat lopsided smile as he very carefully reaches to try and pry her hand off his forearm. ]

It was no trouble, milady. I could not let a thief go unhindered. But I really should be going, I —

[ Oh no. Don't offer him things. GOD. Kaze bites the inside of his cheek, gazes into Minako's eyes and silently screams while saying: ] I would not wish to take up too much of your time.

I know it's more customary to kiss a hero on the cheek, but that seems a little forward, don't you think~ hmhmhmhmhm!

[Minako interrupts his protest, already turning to drag him along in her tenacious arm-grip, beaming from ear to ear. He's so cute and dreamy! STOP RESISTING.]

I'm Minako, but you can call me Mina-chan. What should I call you?

[Doomed.]

Perhaps a little.

[ Oh. Kaze inhales deeply, trying not to look 100% put off even if he totally is. Apparently, even jumping to an entirely different realm would not stop women from latching onto him for one reason or another. Doomed. Cursed. Forsaken. He follows after her. ]

Kaze. [ He says quietly, offering a small smile, looking around as they walk for ~~escape routes~~ familiar faces. ] It's a pleasure, Minako. Where did you say we were going?

There's a diner just a couple of blocks down the road. I'd love to treat you to a good hot meal!

[She'd love to cook him one, honestly, but she actually wants him to stick around and not, you know, jump out the window clutching his throat. Happy happy smiles all the way there as she beams up at him with open admiration. He's so cute. Makoto would be so jealous if she could see her now!]

You're new here, right? I'd definitely have noticed someone as cute as you by now. Hee hee~! Where are you from?

[Xander was wandering the city looking to see if he could find leads for work, considering it was needed to have a place to live here. He was taking a break and reading a copy of the newspaper when he heard someone talking to him who hadn't been there before.]

It seems more and more of us are showing up here by the day.

[ Not quite who he expected to see after arriving in a strange place, but he is glad regardless. Familiar faces are always welcome. He bows slightly, purely out of habit. ]

Might I ask what you mean? I have not see anyone besides you from our - [ a beat. the word he says next sounds weird in this context. ] - world...

[He closes the paper and sets it in his lap, thinking for a moment.]

My siblings are here, Azura, Corrin, and Takumi.

[ Seems an odd assortment of folks to arrive, but Kaze isn't really in the position to judge the randomness of the world he's arrived in. Instead he nods, pleased to hear at least they had arrived, he assumes, safely. ]

I see. How long have you all been here?

Various time periods.

Myself? About a month.

A month is still quite some time - are you saying others have been here much longer?

Leo and Elise have been here longer than I have. And there were others from other places here before me.

Camilla showed up around the same time as I.

[ Weird, but what isn't right now. ]

I suppose I should find my way to Lady Corrin, at the very least. Do you know where I might look?

Not that I've been able to put together. Although, Leo would be more the one for that line of thinking.

[He shakes his head.]

[She's not hard to sneak up on to begin with, so Kaze, in this instance, is super ultra stealth ninja. Which is why when he appears next to her completely silently before he speaks, it causes a disaster.]

EEK...!!!

[Olivia jumps, yelping as she brings her hands up to protect herself while at the same time somehow managing to wince away. It's only a moment later that she opens up one clamped shut eye to peek between her fingers]

D-don't sneak up on me like that!

[ Old habits die hard and all that. Kaze flinches back when she yelps, his own hands up in defense like he expects something to be thrown at him. He has so many regrets. ]

My apologies, miss! I did not mean to startle you. [ His hands drop just slightly, more in a display of surrender than potential danger. ] I mean you no ill will.

N, no it's my fault. I could have been paying better attention... I, um. You're not hurt are you? Y... you wanted to ask a question right?

[god what is even happening]

[Corrin wasn't in her usual armor, but she still had her usual hairstyle and butterfly clip. Camilla had taken her shopping and gotten her some new clothes. She blinked as she came to a full stop and looked over at the familiar voice.]

Kaze?

[ That would explain why there wasn't an instant recognition upon approaching her. There is instead a look of bewilderment and mild shame when he realizes his mistake however. ]

Lady Corrin! I am glad to see you're well. When did you arrive?

For a few weeks. It seems that everyone is arriving at once. Ryoma just arrived, but Takumi, Azura and my siblings from Nohr arrived before I did.

[She was glad to see so many familiar faces, but she hoped that the fight back home was still going on without them.]

What is the last thing you remember happening?

Weeks? [ He sounds vaguely perturbed by that notion. And though he listened to all the Weiss hologram had to say on the matter, and read the documents provided, he can't help but feel a little odd knowing he only saw Corrin a few moments prior to his arrival. To think she had been here for weeks. ]

Vanquishing Anankos and witnessing the peaceful joining of Hoshido and Nohr. [ SPOILER? ] Might I ask why?

Leo and Takumi don't remember that battle or true peace coming to Nohr and Hoshido. Everyone else seems to remember.

Odd. [ And kind of alarming. He won't say that much, though. ] From what I understand, our being here should not affect that which we left. It is unfortunate that they will still have to suffer the war, however.

[Being preternaturally oblivious, Ted is, in all likelihood, the easiest person in the world to steal from. If only he had something worth taking; all he carries on his person is his ever present satchel. Which would lead to...well, maybe somethings are best left unexplored.

Yet for all his imperceptibility, he reacts to the voice as if fate had destined it to be there from the beginning of time.]

You're excused. Good afternoon, sir! What's your name? I'm Ted. New to the world?

[ Kaze seems slightly taken aback by the barrage of questioning, if only because he had been the one intent on asking some of his own. He gives a faint nod. ]

Kaze, and yes, I have only just arrived. Was it so obvious?

[He thinks about that one. Thank to his Japanese lessons, he has more of a clue about those names.]

...oh! Haha, that means "air" or "wind", right? It would certainly explain how you seemed to appear out of thin air.

Oh, very much. Mainly because I haven't seen you before.

[He likes to think he's seen everyone at least once. Ergo...]
