[At first, there's a flicker of an image of a young man's face, chin propped against his fist from an angle below him, an image blotted out by his fingertip coming down on the medallion as he drums it. Otherwise, the silver-haired youth seems to be concentrating on something else--or reading.

It doesn't take him long to notice this idle gesture has done the solving for him, as far as figuring out how to activate the video function is concerned.]

--Easier than I thought.

[Climbing to his feet, the video catches a glimpse of how his rumpled jeans are still damp to the knees, before the sight is obliterated by presumably the palm of his hand as he retrieves it.

A moment later has him peering down into it with interest. He waves a rolled-up pamphlet near shoulder-height a moment as he says:]

Can anyone believe this stuff? Says here a guy named Dresden wrote it.

[Would it kill you to introduce yourself, Riku? Really? Must still be groggy.]

[If Zelos had to count how many he knew? He couldn't think of one. Lloyd seemed the type, at least at first...but even he doubted him, in the end.

[As much of a newcomer as he is, then. Darn. He was hoping he might have some input to offer from a greater experience, but no such luck.

Which meant he might have to take the more suspicious guys at their word, which makes him more uncomfortable than he cares to admit. At least this guy doesn't set his teeth on edge.

[It strikes him as ridiculous, just seemingly so content with the way things are when the alternative means too much extra effort.

All I heard is that there's an egotistic angel with a God complex we should be avoiding. Goes by the name 'Lucifer'.

Oh, apparently Everglade's dangerous, and Fayren has man-eating flowers.

[The man-eating flowers comment was a bit sarcastic, but he'd never been told why the flowers in Fayren weren't safe.]

[Riku has yet to encounter a world that is entirely free of worries, and remembers having that same luxury of an easy, carefree childhood; all that can change in the blink of an eye, but he supposes he can't really fault someone for enjoying peace while it lasts.

But some people thrive with room to spread their proverbial wings and pursue their ambitions, their dreams.]

Lucifer, huh. [Doesn't ring any bells.] I'll keep my eyes open. [Noncommittal, because for all he knows it might just be some jerk with a big mouth making people feel bad.

Not actually some all-powerful otherworldly being, the likes of which tales, songs, and more have been made for millenia on other worlds.]

[No, Riku, you aren't supposed to get excited about dangerous places with man-eating flowers. STOP.]

I guess so, huh...well, no point getting too worked up about it.

[Even he couldn't hide the slightly bitter look that came into his eyes for a moment there. It was a life that was always out of his reach, ever since he was born the Chosen One. In the end, he'd just given up.

Now that he was here... he thought if he ignored that life, what he was, entirely, well. There was a chance.

Nevertheless, he soon masked the falter in his expression by an easygoing smile.]

Haven't seen him myself, so... that's just what I got told. Likewise with the other Cities. Gotta say I'm a bit curious, though.

[Perhaps Riku caught that discrepancy, but he still knows too little about Zelos to go challenging him on it. When he was younger, sure, but he's become a lot more even-keeled since then.]

[He didn't trust Riku, of course, but if anything went wrong it looked like Riku could hold his own.]
