[Starting from from the 18th of August, Leanne has rarely gone home, usually she been spending the day working and then the majority of the night at the After Life, drinking. It was surprising how easy it was to regress to old habits before being reunited with her mate. Tonight was one of those nights were she spent, drinking away.

Leanne sighs as she finishes a shot and sets it down with a loud thud, idly tapping on the counter to order another shot. She realizing that her communicator was on, she goes to look towards it.]

Does anyone know just how to go home? Even for a little bit?

[The other shot was delivered and she goes to down it, shuddering a little.]

I am worried about my people and being away from them for so long. Plus, around this time is important to us and I miss it....

[Another tap on the counter to order yet another shot before she reaches over to turn off the communicator.]

[She frowns as she doesn't like it when he doesn't consider his needs and wants.]

Then why?...

[Why did Marco say those things and suggest those things to her? She stops as she knows how close the two phoenixes are. She shakes her head with a long sigh.]

I don't want you to hide anything, remember one of our vows to each other?

[Especially after that one fight they had back in Nautilus. She forces a chuckle and shakes her head.]

The answer is simple. It is because I love you, my Darling.

[He tilts his head, wondering what she means with that.]

"Why", what?

[Why he left to get drunk? Why he didn't go back at least in the nights?]

I stink of alcohol, if I go back to bed with you like this you would go to work smelling like that too. What kind of impression would that made? I don't want you to get in trouble because I'm being an idiot.

[He had made his way back home the first night, but something had stopped him from joining her, instead making him turn around and leave. The smell had been one of the reasons, the rest... He didn't have them very clear other than that he felt that she deserved better than what he was being.]

I'm not hidding!

[He shakes his head, eyes wide and incredulous, what is she talking about?]

Is it because I went alone? I don't think you would have liked to be besides me getting drunk all the time for several days.

[Pause.]

Would you?

[She was about to dismiss his why inquiry when he answered a question that had been on the back of her mind. She blinks before giggling.]

My silly mate. Do you not think I would have a method to use if you did get the drunken scent on me?

[All the giggling before things became serious again and she shakes her head firmly.]

Yes, I would have liked to stay by your side even when you are nothing but a drunken idiot. But you are my drunken idiot.

[But okay, something serious and she goes to take a slow deep breath.]

Marco kept on saying how you were hiding a part of you from me and it was one of the reasons why you are a drunk right now.

[But she only took it with a grain of salt as it seems like he was referring to his Ikki.]

[That makes him pause and frown again though it's more a confused idiot bird frown than an angry one.]

... You do?

[No, he hadn't actually thought she would have that.]

[He scratches his head, wondering why the hell did he not go home at night then, because a warm bed is very nice to have. And actually thinking about the past only made him miss it more, not wish to be homeless again living in volcanoes.]

[Though he misses his volcano too.]

[Is there a volcano somewhere in Genessia? He could take Leanne there, protect her with his Cosmo. Though that may be a bad idea, it isn't fire but it still would be pretty reminiscending. And it may drive her mad even without that since there is nothing alive there and anything that dares to thrive ends burning.]

[What were they talking about again?]

[He shakes his head, trying to focus on Leanne's voice and not let his thoughts run around without control. And his confused frown grows with each word, Leanne's one of the reasons why he's drunk?]

Wha... Why would you be one of the reasons why I'm drinking?

[Pauses as he thoughts and makes an understanding hum.]

Okay, maybe you could be, but then I would be with you. What's the point of getting drunk due you if you're not with me? That's just... That's stupid.

Pineapple stupid. Why are you talking to the fruit? Maybe in Serenes fruits are intelligent but this isn't Serenes. [Hums.] Do Serenes' fruits talk like Serenes' trees?

[Wait, no, he wanted to say something else.]

What was I saying? Oh, yeah! You're not the reason why I'm drunk, you're not even one of them! Not because you can't be, you can be whatever you want, even a stubborn heron that thinks that showing your ankle equals going around naked. You've pretty ankles anyway. Not as pretty as your eyes though, I'm glad you don't hide those.

[And he loses his train of thoughts again, stopping and looking around for a moment before he remembers where he wants to go. And the way there.]

Of course I do. How else would I have hidden my drinking from my fellow laguz as well as I did.

[Silly Phoenix. And Leanne would not like living in a volcano. She will try to tolerate it as much as possible but won't be happy.

She blinks at his first question before shrugging. She wouldn't know but she smiles a relieved smile. She was worried and it was obvious by how relieved she looked.]

No, they don't. But then again, the flora is quite chatty if one times time to listen to them.

[And okay, she couldn't help but to blush and using a wing to half hide her face. Leanne is still not used to hearing to it, but especially at how easily he is saying them now. So much blushing and feeling shy.]

You really had a lot to drink.

I didn't think you would drink back there... Wait, is that-?

[His fault? Or did she drink for other reasons?]

[No, impossible. She didn't remember him back in her world and even if she did she had better things to worry about. So it was related to her people.]

Did your people drive you that up the wall? I would have thought of them peaceful and calm... Then again it's your people, for all I know they have the unofficial sport of running towards trouble. Even more than me, and that says a lot.

[He keeps frowning, wondering what Marco thought that he kept a secret from Leanne. There are things he hasn't told her in detail about, sure, but they aren't secrets or stuff he keeps hidden on purpose, it's just stuff that has had no reason to be shared as of yet.]

[Anyway he waves a hand at her last comment.]

Not that much. If I had I wouldn't be able to walk straight... I am walking straight, right? That's going to be embarrassing if I'm not.

[The face he was making, if her inhibitions were any lower she would have burst out laughing.]

No, it's not related to my people, Darling. I have found it to be a way to chase away everything that happened during those wars and before them away. Even just for a couple of hours so I can sleep. But I always made sure to not let anyone know and so far, no one made any indication that they realized what I was doing.

[That was why she didn't really fight him when he wanted to spend all those days drinking. Only making those requests of having his birthday and nights. She goes to shrug her shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal.]

You are frowning more than usual...

[Otherwise, it was an actual frown and she goes to start cooing and chirping at him. But then a small teasing smile came back up.]

You seem to be walking just fine.

[Though now, she frowns as she gains a worried expression.]

Are you sure you can make it, Darling? You did claim that you see three of me.

To sleep? [Pauses.] Aren't there like plants or something you can brew for tea to sleep? Whatever, you want to drink, let's drink together.

It's ridiculous that I'm drinking there and you're drinking here. So let's jet get rid of my t and then we can both drink here.

[It makes total sense in his brain right now.]

[And he huffs as she comments on his frowning.]

I wouldn't frown if pineapples stayed with other pineapples and didn't go telling weird shit to my wife! No, wait, this is me, I would probably frown about the air anyway. But I'm okay! I'm not angry or anything.

[And he gives her the biggest smile he can manage, which looks just totally outplace in his face. He only keeps it an instant before he massages one of his cheeks.]

See? This is why I frown, if I smile it would be just weird. Or an impostor. Oi, Leanne, if I ever go to you and smile too much you must knock me out with a branch!

[This is a serious concern now. More serious than her worry about him not making it.]

I'm fi~ne. I'm there already! I mean here, we got rid of the t. I just need the stupid door to stop spinning and I'll go inside.

Yes to sleep, Darling. Plants and herbs can't really chase away what makes me fear sleeping.

[But then his strange babbling and she couldn't help but to giggle quite a bit. She has to wonder if she ever acted that way once completely drunk.]

Darling, you seem to come up with some of the best ideas. But how shall we get rid of your t.

Yes, you would frown about the air. Or anything about me, but especially after one of our "fights". Your frowns usually get worse after one of those.

[She blinks at the sight of the biggest smile on his face and shudders a little.]

Don't ever do that smile again, Darling. I can tell the difference between your frowns anyways. I will try to do that or use my vines to tie you up.

[Her worry remained on her face before letting out a small sigh, and then giggling as her wings perked back up again.]

Not quite yet, you haven't found me inside here yet. But I can meet you and bring you inside.

Want me to go and punch it? That tends to help make things to away.

[He means punch whatever it is that doesn't let her sleep. Again, it makes sense in his brain right now.]

I don't frown that much about you... Wait, do I? I don't mean to.

[Great, now he doesn't even know what face he usually offers to her.]

[He burst in laughs at her reaction to his smile, though. Loud laughs like he hasn't had since he woke up in Genessia and Ace vanished.]

See?! I'm not made to be smiley-super-smile, that's more Ace. Or Shun. Or Seiya. You gotta meet Shun one day.

No, no, no, if you come then the one that loses the t is you! We said I would be the one. So just tell the barkeeper to fucking stop the door from spinning.

[She couldn't help but to giggle quite a bit at his silliness.]

Unfortunately you can't, at least not this enemy.

It's okay, Darling. I prefer your frowns over your smiles. It gets boring if everyone smiles the same way.

[No, don't laugh or else she will burst out laughing too.]

No, you are definitely not made to be that creepy smile. Shun? I would love to meet him but what if he doesn't accept me like Seiya did. I not exactly a beorc.

But I never had the t, what if I just steal yours and then lost it. It would work I think.

[But then she smiles warmly and orders two new shots. Definitely not the amount that Ikki is used to but they should have almost twice the potency as one bottle.]

You better hurry Darling. I just ordered your drinks.

You sure? I've punched a lot of things that couldn't be punched before.

[He thinks for a moment at that.]

So you prefer that I don't smile?

And Shun would accept you even if you're a rock. If anyone is capable to accept anything and anyone different that's him. I mean, he still calls me big brother and cares for me and all despite everything I've put him through.

[Shun's capacity to love is even bigger than Leanne's in Ikki's opinion, because at least with her he actually tried to be better. With Shun... He basically tried to make the kid hate him and stop clinging to him, despite being the one that runs to help him the moment he's even in a bit of trouble.]

[He finally manages to focus on the door enough to stumble into the bar.]

Not this one. Unless you can punch the past.

[She giggles at his question and shakes her head.]

Not that type of smile. Plus, I can tell when you are smiling even though you are frowning, Darling. So you don't need to smile like everyone else.

Well, that is because you are his precious older brother. He looked up to you a lot and you still loved him even though you put him through all those things. You never abandoned him.

[Leanne was sitting at the bar, chugging down one of the shots now. She didn't move like he wanted and didn't touch the other shot. That was for Ikki.]

Ehh... I've been trying but not yet. I'll let you know when I can.

[And he snorts at the "precious older brother" and "never abandoned him".]

Of course I abandoned him, I even tried to kill him and I told you all that. I think you're way too drunk now if you can't remember that.

[Maybe they should call it a day and just go home.]

[Either way he moves to sit next to her. Tripping a bit and having some trouble before managing to get on the seat. Once there he leans his head on his elbow as he looks at her.]

Hey. Managed to lost my t already.

[She giggles and shakes her head.]

You can't solve everything by punching, Darling! I wouldn't change my best no matter how much it hurts.

[Because it is hers to carry.]

Oho? But you didn't kill him did you?

[Nah, she still has plenty more in her to drink. She just has the advantage of not drinking all day.

She smiles as he finally joins her and she reaches over to help steady him.]

Aye, that you have. Do you want anything in particular or shall I surprise you, handsome?

You say that but punching has always helped me a lot.

[He shrugs, both at the claim that he can't solve stuff by punching and at the part about not killing Shun.]

I was close, but the kid is resistant and stubborn like me. Figures he would take some of my worst features, and still he tries to say that I did a good job raising him, can you believe it?

Bah, of course you can, you married me.

[So she's in as much denial as Shun is. And he himself is in even more denial for refusing to see what they see in him.]

Hmmm, I want you, is that good?

[She leans over to give him a kiss on the lips.... To which she was successful after a couple of attempts.]

Perhaps we should find you a flame resistant punching bag.

Yes, I did and I don't regret it one bit.

[It is a denial serpent! Never ending cycles of denial.]

[She teases a little, gonna try and see if she can fish more out of him.]

I don't set on fire everything that I punch.

[He doesn't need a flame resistant punching bag. Besides, punching the punching bag wouldn't solve anything.]

Only maybe? Guess I deserve it for being an idiot.

No, but you do enjoy setting things on fire. So you can punch and set it on fire as much as you want! It will be a win-win for you.

[She chuckles and just smiles warmly at him.]

One of the biggest idiots. What will you do to try and change my mind? [All the teasing.]
