Egocentric Police Dick [Action, Video]
01. [ACTION] Getting your feet wet
[First, the bad: his game was up. The bedlam he'd caused to try and spice up the horrifically dull, podunk called "Inaba" had, apparently, come to an abrupt end. And it was just coming to the good part.
He'd blearily stepped out of his pod, only to be greeted by Weiss' hologram. Which meant he had to endure Genessia's tutorial by his most despised kind of person. Once it was over, he bore it a grimace.]
Man. What a stuck-up bitch.
[Last and least, his feet were wet. That's the cherry on his, so far, shit sundae. For the good? He still has his gun. And he had his other weapon: the blood-red persona that practically gave him a migraine to bring forth. He could feel it within him, as though he were in the world of shadows. Wonderful.
Once he made his way out of The Bay, things looked to be turning up. The world was new. He was in a city again. He was out of the sticks! With a wad of cash. Maybe this wouldn't be so horrifically dull after all. At least he could get beer past evening now.
Along the city streets, he walks around with a sense of fresh purpose. He might actually enjoy this. This world seemed a lot more interesting than the one he was steering to ruin before. If it were from someone less bitter, it could be described as happiness.]
You know...this isn't too bad. Guess I should go to that GSRF place to see what's up. On the other hand, I could use a drink.
[Decisions, decisions. Wanna save him from talking to himself and show him a good night on the town?]
02. [VIDEO] Introductions
[Even a new world can't shake off old habits. He still feels the need to put on that dim, nice guy facade he'd used to cope with the reality he so despised. Might as well introduce himself, and fish for a job while he's at it. Give him a moment to get into character. What comes into view is a dopey looking, Japanese man shy of thirty with an off-center tie and a disarmingly innocent smile.]
Oh, uh, looks like it's working! Guess I should introduce myself.
[He cleared his throat.]
Umm...I'm Adachi, and I'm new here. Gotta say it's...pretty wild! That hologram back there looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. And I'm...whoa, speaking English! Don't remember taking classes for that, but I won't complain, heh. Wonder why that is? Oh, I'm from Japan, by the way. If that means anything.
Anyway, I'm a police detective, or...was, I guess. Is anyone hiring for that? I uh, don't have my papers on me, sorry. Will credentials be a problem? Hope I don't have to go through the academy again.
I, uh, do have my gun though. Am I in trouble? They were pretty strict about those back home; couldn't really take them out of work. Heh, guess it'd look pretty bad for an officer to break the law on his first day.
[Gee, he's just so shy and harmless, isn't he?]
Sorry, guess I'm pretty boring. Oh! But Check this out.
[The phone trades his shy face to focus on his hand, holding a 500 yen coin. It's only value lies purely in entertainment now.]
Okay, watch closely.
[He grasps it in his hand, then pumps it up and down.]
Are you watching?
[After that gripping suspense, he opens his hand. His palm is bare. The coin is gone! Wow!]
Ta-da!
...well, maybe it's more impressive in person. Guess if law enforcement doesn't work out, I could always be a magician, right?

Re: action;
Oh. I could see that. Still, it's a decent amount. Wonder what it's all for?
[More than pretty scenery, he thinks.]
Oh yeah, that key thing. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to check that place out.
[As "kidnapping"'s go, this one's pretty lenient, yeah. Which makes it all the more suspicious. Time to put on his thinking face.]
Nice to have someone more three dimensional to talk to, ya know? Guess no one wants a full-time job of watching over every guy that fumbles out of there.
Still, kidnapping...that's a pretty serious crime. Has anyone figured out the means, motive, and opportunity?
Re: action;
[She just shrugs it off for the most part.]
Nope. But then again people have to do the whole working things to actually be able to be here that often. Though when people do have free time it's doing silly things... At least for some it might be silly. [She shook her head.]
Noooope. At least as far as I have heard, except the word spirits, but that's all I managed to hear.
Re: action;
[He'd say that's pretty elaborate for a joke, but given the lengths he's gone to for less, it's not unthinkable. His face remains neutral as she explains the rest, giving him the impression that talking any more would make him very bored very quickly.]
Yup, that is what people use leisure time for. Seems like for a crime, people don't have much evidence.
[Which is typical for the paranormal. The police were slowly unraveling themselves trying to piece together a supernatural mystery back home. Kinda tough to figure when it involves elements completely beyond them. So this is what it's like on the other side.]
Looks like I have my work cut out for me. So the streets are ordered by number and alphabet, right? Lemme know that sock place you mentioned. Heh, guess I'll have to redo my entire wardrobe...
[Back to whining already, Adachi? He adapts fast.]
action;
[She made sure to point out the general direction.]
Not any evidence at all, really. Which is bothersome because I kinda want to go home personally since I had stuff I needed to do. But oh well I will find something fun to do here too.
Re: action;
Thank you ma'am, you've been very helpful! Yeah, not letting homesickness bother you too much is a good idea. You take care, all right? Have a good night!
[Pretty easy thing to do for him, really. His home, his relationships...all kinda crap.]
