Video - Locked to Satsuki Kiryuin
[The bespectacled brunette has a short message to leave. It might even go missed if Satsuki had too much on her hands, there isn't a great deal of content. Its just a short video, not even half a minute long, of a woman who probably had yet to make much of an impression on her. She had done her best to be 'interesting' the last time the two had met, and now she was going to see if her effort had paid off.]
Madam Kiryuin. When you have the time, I should like to speak with you. I believe things have calmed to the point where I can discuss what I brought up during the unfortunate incident some time back.
Madam Kiryuin. When you have the time, I should like to speak with you. I believe things have calmed to the point where I can discuss what I brought up during the unfortunate incident some time back.

It has been a while, Mamizou Futatsuiwa. I would be more than happy to speak with you.
[She makes an effort to sound a little upbeat to counteract her otherwise neutral expression.]
[The smile that comes to her face is not entirely innocent.]
But to simply come out and tell you would be entirely too boring, so I should like to propose a small game to you. Should I explain the rules of this game? I assure you the reward for winning it would be something of interest to you.
What she wasn't expecting (or perhaps somewhere inside she was quite aware) Mamizou to make a game of it, and she's used to doing that to other people, not being on the receiving end. Other than a slight quirk of her brow, the raven haired teen responds in a patient tone.]
If you would.
[Not that she's commiting to it just yet, but her curiosity is piqued.]
Oh, I believe you will like it. It is a game you really cannot lose, because there is no drawback to failing to win. Well, other then not getting the prize, naturally.
[Her hands fold over one another as she peers into the camera feed.]
Rather then simply tell you who I really am, I should enjoy seeing you use your no doubt extensive knowledge to pull the truth from amidst the possibilities. As you and I are fellow Japanese ladies, it is possible that you already possess all the knowledge you need. However, perhaps you never had time for the tales containing the information that might lead you to an easy win? Let us discover.
[A vibrant smile comes to her face.]
Ten questions. That is how many you get to ask me to discover who I really am. Naturally, detailed ones are a no go, they must be questions that can be answered yes or no. You get ten questions, but only one guess. If you can figure out my secret without using all of your questions, I shall offer you my service once for each remaining question. If it takes all ten but you still get it correct, I will count that as you having one question left. And of course an incorrect guess leads to an automatic loss.
[Her smile only widens.]
Oh, and you do not need to ask them all in a row, or even on the same day! Let us enjoy our little intellectual game, there is no need to rush at all. Should you lose my challenge, I shall fill in the blanks regardless, so do not let it cause you unnecessary stress. So...
[She puts on a knowing smile.]
Any questions?
The proposal actually is interesting; a test of her own strategic ability comes into play in a manner she didn't really expect.]
Hmn. Very well, that is the sort of game I am familiar with though I admit this is the first time I have actually played, I am ready to begin.
[However as she thinks about it, there is a brief moment of utter dread. There's no way. It isn't possible she could be..?]
Do you know another version of myself?
The first time I met you, in any form, was on the day I arrived in this world. The answer to that question is no.
The other may hear the sound of Satsuki tapping an object on a desk.]
Am I looking at your true form?
That is one question down, but you still have plenty left.
[A small smile comes to her face at the second question.]
A very wise question. I am impressed you thought to ask it so quickly, though I am not surprised you thought of it. I imagined you would go along this line of thinking eventually. The answer is no, this is not my true form.
It would be a lot more difficult if I had not mostly come to terms that various rules from my home are broken here in Genessia.
[A minute or so passes.]
Is your true form humanoid?
I see. It is wise to have a broad point of view. To limit one's self to only what they knew instead of what is possible is an easy way to live life, but ultimately doing things the easy way leads to lesser results. Oh, and yes.
[It actually doesn't even look much different from what she looks like now, but that information isn't being offered.]
Three questions down, but you still have over half of them remaining.
The commentary is a little distracting, however, mostly because what Mamizou says resonates very well with her.]
Does your true form possess feathers?
Feathers? No, my actual form does not possess any feathers.
Does it possess wings?
I am afraid that my true form lacks wings, Madam Kiryuin.
[She shakes her head.]
I would offer you a small hint, but I suspect your pride would not allow you to take it.
Her clues so far is that Mamizou is Japanese and hiding an alternate, humanoid form that is capable of flight. Maybe she's looking at this from the wrong angle?
Satsuki's pen taps the desk again. Mamizou just had to poke that bees nest, didn't she?]
One at the beginning would have been appreciated.
[That's her asking without actually asking for one.]
[Satsuki is otherwise quiet for about four minutes or so; 'before we started'? She takes a moment to allow some time to think back. And once she gathers her thoughts, her lips twist just a touch.]
Is disguising your form an innate ability?
Yes. Yes, it is.
On the other hand, as she thinks about it, Sado is known for having legendary stories related to certain creatures. But surely that is a coincidence?]
Does your true form possess more than one tail?
No, it does not possess multiple tails.
[A slight pause.]
Seven questions down. I think my hint may have put you on the right track, though. Don't disappoint me!
So she isn't a fox. If she's on the right track she may not even need all three.]
Very well; do you possess a sake bottle?
Are you inquiring about my drinking habits, Lady Kiryuin? I'm afraid you're too young to be drinking sake, my dear girl. But to answer your question....
[She reaches off the camera feed, and retrieves a somewhat old fashioned looking sake gourd, which she holds up, shaking enough so the sound of the liquid sloshing can be heard. She offers no verbal answer, but her actions were an obvious enough response.]
[It takes Satsuki a moment to realize she's being teased, but once she does her cheeks redden a touch. An annoyed grunt passes her lips as she shakes her head.]
Ahem, that aside.. I believe I have discovered your identity; the answer was right in front of me the whole time.
The glasses symbolize the large eyes, the green 'hat', sake jug and, well I would not call your friendly smile a sufficient clue but it still fits.. I also believe you possess a promissionary note.
[Satsuki slams her palm upon her desk, clearly proud of her upcomig guess.]
You must be a one of the three famous tanuki of Sado!
[Her face doesn't betray if there is any truth to the woman's words. She simply wears that same friendly smile.]
Is that it, then? Your guess at my identity? Remember, you only get one.
[Though, for the briefest moment, Satsuki ends up second-guessing herself. The way Mamizou asks the question makes her pause. She quickly reviews the hints, though, and can't really see how she could be wrong. So with a slight frown, the young lady nods.]
Yes, that is my answer.
You are relatively well educated for a girl your age. Its rare to see a human that might actually be able to bring change about in the world. Most of them vanish into obscurity the moment their lives end. If you continue as you are now, then I feel you will leave a mark before you fade away.
[The playful smile fades and a serious expression touches her face.]
Danzaburou-danuki. Futatsuiwa Daimyoujin. These are both names that have been attributed to me. Of course the stories you have heard surely described me as a man, but when one can change their form freely, surely you are intelligent enough to suspect them. No, the stories never got that part right, just as I wanted it. They also did not get the name correct but that, as well, was my doing.
[There is a cloud of smoke on the other side of the feed, and a swirl of leaves. When both fade, the woman is wearing what may or may not be her true form. It actually does not look much different. The hair is shorter, and she has obvious animal ears atop her head. The tail is impossible to miss, seeming as long as she is tall.]
I believe it was what, eight questions? I imagine you can understand the value of my offer now. There is no one in existence who can match my transformation abilities. I am sure a woman such as yourself can find an amusing use for them.
[Video] Thirty years later..
Then she speaks at last.
Aknowledgement of her intelligence and investigative work does wonders for her annoyance, though. However it is the transformation that gets a visable shift in expression- Not quite as big as when Mamizou first took to the skies but it is certainly something.
After all of that, the Deputy Guardian is left in silence though. Whether it is to digest the reality of the situation or she is just plain speechless is difficult to tell, but after what seems like half a minute, she raises her hand to her chin.]
I was unsure where you were going with all of this but.. I must admit that this little game has revealed value far beyong my expectations.
[In fact, possessing the services of a tanuki is actually a little overwhelming. But the advantage she is given here is so enormous, she can hardly even decide where to begin with all of this.]
.. I suppose it depends on your definition of 'amusing'. But I would like to get another question out of the way first- Do you merely take ones appearance, or can you imitate their voice as well?
Video - 30 years is nothing to a tanuki!
I should very much appreciate it if you would keep this knowledge to yourself. But then, I selected you as the one to play this game with because you seemed as if you understand the value of subtly. After all, what use would I be if people knew about me? But I believe you asked a question...
[There is another swirl of smoke and leaves, and when it clears Satsuki will find herself looking at...Satsuki. The tanuki has assumed a flawlessly replicated version of the girl herself. When she speaks, all the answers the young woman needs are obvious.]
I have always been very good at imitation. Some might think a talent for pretending to be others has no value. Some people are fools.
[Naturally, the voice coming from the tanuki is impossible to tell apart from the real deal. Well, other then the fact it was clearly not coming from Satsuki's own mouth at least!]
no subject
[The Deputy Guardian didn't need need to be asked such a thing, she'll consider it initiation of a verbal contract. But then, perhaps to Mamizou's disappointment, Satsuki simply stares at the demonstration of skill with her usual stone expression. The visible signs of surprise are off-frame.]
That is.. impressive. Extremely impressive. The possibilities here are practically unlimited. [Though she seems to be murmuring more to herself than the tanuki. But when the volume of her voice picks up, it's more clear she's speaking to her long-distance company.] Then here is my proposal: In a little less than two months, I plan to open a school in Genessia City. I would be interested in having you teach there.
I admit it may not be the most crafty use of your talent, but I am certain opportunities to stir some 'mischief' will reveal itself in time.
no subject
You have an eye for talent, Madam Kiryuin. It is not mere idle boasting when I claim my abilities unmatched. While I am not arrogant enough to assume that nowhere in all of existence is someone that can match me, there was no one of the sort back home. Your offer is interesting. I imagine any school run by a woman such as yourself would hardly be boring. Very well, I shall gladly accept. While I am uncertain what topic to hold a class on, I imagine those two months will be plenty to figure it out.
[A smile touches her face.]
But I have taken enough of your evening. We shall speak again soon. Keep yourself alive until then.
no subject
[And so Mamizou accepts, much to Satsuki's further delight.]
And to you as well.
[And she ends the feed left with even more to think about. Not that it is a bad thing.]
