{ action/around the bay }
( It was downright perturbing the way the awoke. Trapped in a silver coffin and caked in her own blood. In fact, she still couldn't quite believe it, even as she listened to the words of the hologram and perused the literature in the envelope. She didn't want to.
It was a cruel joke, certainly. Or a dream. Perhaps she might even be dead. Not likely, though. She would remember such a thing, even considering that she did just come out of a war.
But, as Integra always does, she would have to the most of it. Keep a stiff upper lip and move forward. So, she does. One clank of her boot after the other, as she staggered along out from the cavern and into the twilight engulfed bay. )

( One shower and some much needed rest later, she had determined that no, this wasn't a dream. She's made a mental note to skewer whomever compelled her to this world later, but for now, she needed to find a way to thrive in this place. Learning to use the device was simple enough (as it was not terribly advanced from the technology in her world,) and the flicked on the screen. )
Good afternoon. My name is Sir Integra Hellsing, and I've only just arrived. I'm searching for a tutor of sorts, someone experienced in cooking, and I'm willing to compensate for their time.
( Exactly how, she hasn't determined yet, but... details. )
With that in mind, I'm looking to see what jobs are available. I'm an experienced combatant with training in both bladed weapons and firearms.
( She's not about to demand any kind of leadership position, but it's clear she carries a certain gravitas to her words.
With that, the feed flicks off. )

[Video] Cause why not.
...You know, cooking iz not zhe first zhing I'd expect someone like you to be asking about.
[Now the question is, did this Hellsing bitch know who she was or did they have to go through the old song and dance yet again.]
Az for jobs, just stay out of Everglade.
video; OH BOY.
Aren't lying dogs supposed to play dead?
( Her words were laced with venom. Forget Rip's advice, she wanted to know how she could possibly be there, and why she was acting so familiar. )
[Video] Here we go again....
Considering you dog never plays dead, vhy should I~?
[As for acting familiar.. it's a long story and one she's not willing to share. The last thing she wants is for dear Integra to get ideas.]
I haf every right to exist peacefully here.

( To which, she has her doubts. The remark is a snide one. )

I must say, there's been a bit of an evil doll infestation as of late in Everglade. Unless you can handle such things, I would advise staying out of Everglade.
video; She's a magnet for them.
( Aaaaaaaaand she's already caught her attention. )
As it happens, I'm quite versed in combating the supernatural, and doubt they would pose much risk to me. Tell me about them.
I trust you are experienced, because as Everglade's deputy guardian, I have enough humans to babysit already.
video; I'M SORRY
Then I have reason to call your leadership into doubt. I've barely arrived and I've already heard rumours of your domain being overrun by a den of vampires. Their ilk I would have disposed of months ago were I in your position.
( Although, her seeming contempt for humans tells her she is potentially inhuman herself, and quite potentially protecting them. )

You're looking for cooking lessons? I can help with that.
video;
Yes, actually. As if happens, I've never been made to cook for myself ( That, she always left up to Walter or the maid staff. ) and could stand to become more self-sufficient.
( But she totally can gun a vampire down, go figure. )
Re: video;
So, I guess we should figure out how to set this up. And would you prefer to build into more complex dishes over time, or keep them simple?
video;
( Which is to say, she's suddenly found herself with more free time than she really cares for. )
Would you prefer monetary compensation, or perhaps I can offer you another trade in return?
( She's really good with swords, Shirou. )

[There seems to be a lot of combat experts dropping in lately.]

Would you happen to be familiar with the name 'Dracula'?
no subject
My family has affairs with the Count, if that's what you're asking.
( Press the wrong button to receive salt in 3, 2... )
no subject
There are several... I guess you could call them 'versions' of Dracula here, ranging from one who would prefer you call him Vlad and who despises the legend, to another who fully embraces it and would dearly love to see all of humanity dead. Be careful who you approach.

But she'll spare Soma's eardrums, for now. )
If that's the case, then you ought to know that Professor van Helsing is my great grandfather, and I am the current heir to the Hellsing legacy.
( Now that she has that out of the way... )
Have you encountered an iteration that's adopted the name Alucard, by chance?
( She doesn't sense his presence here, but a part of her wanted to know. )

action because why not
It's more luck than judgement that has him passing the bay area. Perhaps on some level there's part of him still waiting on his Master's arrival, despite that he's quite enjoying the freedom he's experiencing here. Whatever the case, it sees him passing by just as clear footsteps sound and cause him to pause in his step.
The blood draws a tight frown to his lips, though it's a sight he takes in his stride - it's been a long time since the sight or smell of it has been enough to shake him. He takes a few steps closer but with guard raised and distance kept - if she's new, and wherever she last was saw her in this state, he knows better than to get too close.]
And so, once again, it appears this place cares little for what we are in the middle of when it summons us here.

She turns her head upon hearing the voice as his steps drew closer, her tone suspicious, but curious: )
That would appear to be the case. ( If her current state is any indication of that. ) Then I suppose that you, too, are a captive in this world?

[He fishes out his pendant, usually tucked away under clothing it doesn't even try to match but he has good reason to make use of it now. He doesn't expect it to make her trust him any more but it's something.]
Though I had not thought they would not have means to care for those who are wounded on arrival. Given all else they can do, it strikes me as a curious oversight.
[Which means he's noticed, but also he's the last one to say anything about pride so he's not going to push.]
Video
["Sir" is an unfortunate name for a woman, and "Integra" is too proud, if charmingly exotic, so he'll go by the most innocent of the names.]
I wouldn't mind something tit-for-tat; if you know your way around bullets and blades, I'd be happy to know those techniques too. In exchange it'd be my pleasure to show you around the kitchen; my mother taught me everything she knew about the culinary arts, and she knew plenty.
...oh, once things settle down, of course. Things have taken a thorny turn at present, but the turmoil will dissipate in a week or two at most, I'm sure.

[He puts up his hands for a second.]
Right, not the point. What kind of experience do you have with your combat expertise?
no subject
( Yes, Dante. The knighted kind. The question is a rhetorical one. His opinion doesn't matter here. )
As for my expertise, in my world, I worked in the service of the Round Table under Queen Elizabeth II, charged with overseeing the elimination of supernatural and satanic threats-- particularly vampires, ranking as a Brigadier General of the British Army.
( Basically, she has credentials. Very legit credentials. )
I don't suppose you could point me in the direction of somewhere to apply my talents.

[There's a long pause as Dante just stares and arches an eyebrow.]
...The Queen has her own supernatural spook hunters? The fuck am I doing running a rinky dink shop on a dead end street in London!?
[Dante grabs a bottle of whiskey from off screen and starts chugging, holding up a finger to indicate Integra should just wait a second.]
Now that I've got that out of my system... you'd probably find Everglade right at home. They've got all the spooks over there. Attleton - where I'm based out of - is really tame in comparison.

And Rin might be a reckless idiot herself but then she also worries about others even when she's bad at showing it. So even if Rin would possibly do the same in her position and there is no way in hell that she would have done anything with her phone so soon.... well that doesn't mean that everyone else should do that too!
She doesn't even waste time with waiting for her to get to the hologram, she's walking closer to her first while also keeping some distance for now... and if the new arrival happens to walk into the hologram girl before that then that's good too.]
Hey you, they gave you that stupid device with instructions on how to use it in that box for good reasons.
[Welcome! Isn't it wonderful to be here when this is the first greeting you get???]
