[Action, Open]

Who: 47 and OPEN
What: 47 actually doing some Fama work (reading scary stories/poems)
When: Weekends in October, starting on the 13th
Where: A bookstore in Genessia and over the radio
Warnings: Scary stories and poems behind links

A bookstore in Genessia has hired 47, through Fama, to read scary short stories and poems aloud throughout the month of October. Honestly, he was supposed to start on the 6th, but with everything going on with his missing friend, the bookstore understood and let him cancel his first appearance.

Now he's actually fulfilling his end of the bargain. He starts with "Cool Air" by Lovecraft and "The Raven" (always a classic) by Poe, moving on to the other stories and poems as the month wears on. His readings are broadcasted on the radio as well. After his "performances", 47 is available to chat, answer questions, or (very reluctantly) take pictures and sign autographs.

((If you have ideas for other scary stories and poems 47 can read, let me know! They have to be freely available on the internet, though. Here is a reading of "Cool Air" and here is what 47's voice sounds like, if you're interested in either of those.))

[How convenient that a clown's at that exact store. Well, if someone's doing a professional reading, who is he to refuse? He helps himself to a seat.

Ted's first impression is that the man has a severe, no-nonsense manner that added a gruff, though appropriate air to the tales. If that had been the tone consistently set, Ted would have been as patient and interested audience member as you could ask for.

But when he's about a third of the way through "Cool Air", things broke down. It was when he voiced the main character's spanish landlady; the accent and unlearned English faithfully represented, and faithfully read aloud.]

...and only joost now he feex a arm of the plumber that get hurt of sudden.

[47 doing that voice killed Ted dead. He could hardly hold in his laughter, trying to stifle it with unobtrusive giggling.]

Mhm...mhh-hmm!

[He trusts 47 will keep going, like a professional. Lord if that didn't suck the gravity right out of the tale.]

[The landlady's part in the story is mercifully short, and Ted's giggling ends with it. Don't mind him! The "icy" glare is thematically appropriate, so props for that. From there, he can enjoy the fancy words Lovecraft availed himself of like "outre" and "moribund." Those will be nice to deploy later.

Still, the previously read silliness was all but insurmountable. Never could he take it seriously again. Once 47's done, he'll offer to shake his hand and offer to shake his hand and compliment.]

Good oration, sir. And here I thought you were a botanist alone. You've many talents.
