4th Shadow [Video]

[As Nikola turns on his device, it's not hard to see he's out a cafe somewhere in Genessia City sipping a drink that.. he's not a hundred percent sure he even likes. But, he was curious about all this pumpkin spice nonsense and might just be regretting it a little.]

I've noticed recently that most of the cities save for Everglade have become.. rather festive. However, I don't have the slightest idea  why. 

[He sets his mug down and sighs.]

And I'm rather sure I don't like pumpkin spice now that I've tried it.  Now, please, can some one tell me why most of the cities seem to be celebrating monsters, torture, blood and gore? I'm afraid I don't understand even if it does uncomfortably remind me of someone I knew once.

[He hesitates simply because of what Nikola is admitting to. Namely, being of one of the High Noble Houses and what that entails on his part as an heir. However, hearing about a world ruled by dragons and who his conversation companion serves is.. interesting.

Especially the part about shadows considering his own family's ability.]

I'm not even sure if we have dragons in my world. If we do, then they are well hidden and creatures lost to myth. Perhaps I could ask my father.. if I ever see him again.

[Admittedly, the way their races mix sound surprisingly alot like his. But, again he hesitates when it comes to complimenting his world's Emperor.]

I wouldn't say we have an advantage with Faust as Emperor. He is.. merciless and brutal with his beliefs. As much as I hate to admit it, we're forced to bend to his will because he's the strongest of the First's four children and the eldest.

As for intermarrying...Humans are a food source. To breed with one for anything other than pleasure is unheard of and the offspring are either cast aside or used for other means. Half-breeds are not looked upon kindly within my world.

However, intermingling the bloodlines is done more for political alliances or attempts to add new blood or abilities into another bloodline. My father and my Mother mated for political reasons despite my father falling in love with her.

However, since I was hardly the result my mother desired, I became my father's heir since I displayed his abilities and not hers. They split.. and then my mother mated with the Emperor to produce the heir she desired. My youngest sister hardly has a life that should be envied.

[And he felt sorry for her because of it.]

As for the political atmosphere, it is just as tense with one Emperor as it may be with five realms and five different leaders. Though, to hear there are shadow users in your world does give me a little hope that my world is not the only one where such abilities thrive.
